Unfortunate Headline
Someone wasn't paying attention:
Ouch. Different strokes for different folks we suppose.
The story itself is kind of amusing as the girl used the old "padlock on a shoelace" as a weapon to defend herself.

So ABC wrapped up their investigation on the leaked debate questions. They only state that a freelance employee has been fired as a result. Shouldn't more information on who the person was or the reason for the leak be made available. This should be a huge story.
Padlocks on a shoelace
Full pop cans to smash out cameras
Tied off socks with D-Cell batteries inside
Pillowcases filled with full pop cans
Bookbag with popcans or bricks inside
Such a shame - I remember when Skokie wasn't a shithole. Good going for the girl though - fend that schmuck off - hope he lost a few teeth when she whacked him with the locks...
HAHAHA! Beat him off with padlocks
There's people who'll pay good money for showing like that
So, she should be charged with carrying a deadly weapon. If there were an justice, that girl would be in jail.
OT: Good to see Illinois CCW might be beginning to work! - http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhCDKN3z34257SApyf (NSFW) but still worth the watch.
Story has stink on it. Although maybe she was the victim of an attempt kidnap, she's no angel.
Was that something from "50 Shades of Grey"?
More like 50 shades of black and blue.
Thanks. I saw this yesterday and thought I was imagining things.
She's going for the 2015 Joseph Curtin Award as the most despised asshole exempt in the CPD.
Do you know what they call a padlock in Englewood? A baby sitter.
Perhaps "fended off" or "drove off" would have been better choice of words.
Maybe I'm too jaded but I am not "reeling" because JRW was stripped of their title.
Dude that's so amazing.. Young girl power can be my bodyguard. What a brave kid. God bless her heart. Bad situation wonderful outcome. Love it!
Normally I would have some lewd comment, but not about thirteen year old girls.
Just A Citizen: GOOD FOR HER! She's got more balls than the mayor!
This is Chicago.
The kids learn to make a padlock mace early on when they're coming up.
Fools.
The real story is the Jackie Robinson little league and what happens to the 200k since they got stripped.
hey ssc this reminds of case back in 2012 lisa zito who is a melrose park employee and her husband greg who was a watch COMMANDER in the melrose park police dept were also teasurers for the melrose park little league apparently lisa and her husband decided to stick her hands into the cookie jar and some 50000 usc was missing , it must be nice to spend money at the riverboat casino and eat out at gibons steak house in oakbrook, anyway lisa and her hubby got CAUGHT but never fear her uncle ronnie s, the mayor of melrose park came to rescue and made a call to a new FOUND FRIEND mike madigan (melrose park insurance is now handled by a company that employs mike m son) well boys and girls as usual justice did prevail (clout)and too many hidden secretas too, no criminal charges just a state civil suit and lisa only had to pay back 25,000.00 THANKYOU LISA MADIGAN
Show us the $$$$.
"beat him off" lololol
A troll says: This is merely another example of fine journalism, likely from cadre of the esteemed Medill School. Funny one this morning went like this, the man was standing on the front porch in the 2700 block of Courtland when a SUV drove by and shot him". A suggestion: The man was standing on the porch when he was shot by somone driving by in a SUV. Police have no suspects but say an arrest is immenent. But
it is funny and whoever the beat off is who wrote it obviously has an issue with himself.
sorry SCC I thought you were talking about the JR baseball team
