Hey, You Haven't Won Yet

  • Three of Jesus “Chuy” Garcia’s most prominent supporters joined in an election-eve demonstration outside the mayor’s office Monday to protest Rahm Emanuel’s refusal to sign onto their demands to end police brutality and stop-and-frisk policies that they say target blacks and Hispanics.

The timing and participation of the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) and County Commissioner Robert Steele begged the question about whether their motive was to embarrass Emanuel and help Garcia.

But protesters from the Community Renewal Society and the Jane Addams Senior Caucus insisted the groups are non-profits that have endorsed neither candidate.

After demanding a meeting with Emanuel for months, they finally got one on Saturday morning, but came away disappointed by the mayor’s failure to accede to any of the group’s demands.
Or maybe it's the Sun Times trying to move a few thousand votes one way or the other? Does anyone know if this is part of that group that was pushing for Rahm to meet with the criminals rightfully shot and killed by police after pointing guns at officers? We knew Jesse was in there somewhere. Whatever. We're done with this election tonight.

Go Vote.

Who's to say Jesse and Danny will not be hanging around Chuy for the next 4 years. They sure are pushy the day before the election.

Remember...

Rahm didn't just make firemen "learn to bleed" and he didn't just "stick it in the cops ear..."

He literally drew blood from and stuck it in the ear of what's left of Chicago's middle class.

By design.

VOTE DAMNIT!

This is a fight for this city's soul...

https://10thwardcorruption.wordpress.com/ This guy is up for re-election? Being told this is just the tip of the iceberg with this guy. I remember seeing what two or three front page stories on him this year alone.

I disagree, I see their motive as embarrassing to Garcia. JJ, DD and Steele follow the power and will be back sucking up to Rahm after his win. JJ will probably lead the prayer breakfast tomorrow at Rahm's invite.

All I know is that as much as I hate to say anything good about Rahm and McCarthy, there have been no serious incidents in Chicago regarding protests against police. Not at NATO, not during ferguson, not during New York chokehold crap, not after one of our dozens of police shootings in between. How many other cities can say that?

Don't worry. Early voting is used to stuff the ballot box. The race was already decided on Saturday.

You really attribute that to the mayor and the higher-ups? The reason lies with the boots on the ground and their efforts, DESPITE the higher-ups. Don't get it twisted....

Last day for this nonsense, if you don't vote you cannot complain! Let's hope chuy audits the city books, no wonder the billionaires back rahm and are literally throwing cash at him! They are worried when the books are finally audited they will be complicit in the pension fraud being perpetrated on us! Bet the new U.S. Attorney and the FBI are gearing up to run wild through the political landscape and load up multiple busses with the elected and of course the entire Daley crime combine elite finally this will be "change we can believe in"

On another note got a flyer from Eddie Burke about how he wants idiots to vote for rahm, as he says in the flyer he knows how bad city finances are! Hmm Ed you have been financial chairman how many years? You did nothing about it? Also you wear a CPD star because you were a copper for a very short time but yet your not talks about making sure your "brothers in blue" have a secure pension!

Heard chuy interviewed coppers already for his detail he is not keeping the bunch that are loyal to rahm that's anoypther great move, and also he is reducing the detail to save taxpayers money, let's hope he gets rid of the secret treasurers and city clerks detail they have a license and can drive themselves correct?

Unless I missed it, I didn't hear anything coming out of Dallas, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Austin, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Lincoln, Vegas, I'm sure there are a few others.

I agree. Chuy has been part of the problem in Little Village for 20 plus years. He surely has known what goes on there and has done nothing to fix the problems.I think a lot of people are engaging in wishful thinking and going for Garcia, who just panders to whatever crowd he is before. He has the backing of the teachers union and I think I know why. The union wants a union guy in the Mayors office and they want an elected school board that they can control. I think they see the handwriting on the wall and that is bankruptcy for the Chicago Public Schools which will nullify all contracts and pensions. Democrats are the ones who have put bills forward in Springfield to make filing bankruptcy easier for cities and for the school districts which are separate taxing bodies. And, they are in the process now of drafting a bill to put a state constitutional amendment on the ballot in November 2016 which will allow governments to change pensions of every employee . It is coming and Ramn and Garcia know it or they are stupid fools.

Almost all other cities can say that. What world do you live in? The lack of serious incidents regarding protests against police here can't be considered an accomplishment for the mayor or superintendent. If you're feeling the need to give praise to the undeserving, thank our citizens for not protesting. How shitty does a mayor have to be for someone to come up with this shit as some kind of noteworthy accomplishment? Get a grip.

Right, because Rahm has done so much to ensure that you'll have a pension. I have news for you: they're both idiots. The difference is one of them has already bent you over and will continue to fuck you every chance he gets. Chuy hasn't gotten that chance yet, so you can't tell me what he'll do. Do I think he's some kind of friend to the police? Not at all. I'm just not satisfied with our current tyrant, so it's time to try someone else.

If Rham wants to get rid of a threat he should lift residency for next time. This way many of the teachers etc won't be living here anymore

The majority of cities can say that. Has nothing to do with the mayor or supt, has to do with the people.

I hope Chuy does win so he can releave us of this worthless so called leader Gary McCarthy! How did he even get this job? Bozo the clown could do it better than him! Just look back on the past 4 years of this incompetent idiot Mc Carthy, this is the ONLY Superintendent to have 8 Bureau Chiefs to have retired during his short tenure. You heard it right, at least 8! Not to include all of the other Commanders and Deputy Chiefs to walk away! Even if we counted our previous positions of Deputy Superintendent and the lower level Chiefs under them, this is an unreal number. Brian Murphy, Ernest Brown, Debra Kirby, Tina Skahill, Nick Roti, Joe Patterson and Beatrice Cuello. I know I am missing a few, but the listed is more than enough. Let’s not forget to mention that a few left prior to reaching their pensions or reaching the retirement age of 50. They just wanted out! Chiefs just do not leave! You will go down in history as the worst big city Chief of Police in History! I can't wait to hear your exit speach and how you proclaim you left by choice.

Rahm has hired mercenaries; Chuy has volunteers.

Which one do you prefer?

Say what you will, I cannot think of another Chicago mayor who was so heavily dependent upon cash to drum up votes. Nobody, including his own allies, actually likes this guy. Everybody on board with Rahm is paid off.

No idea about the group's origins. But what a typical stunt by Rev. Jackson.... and what a pathetic "protest". I don't think other news groups covered this because apparently black lives matter.... but not quite as much as publicity.

Rahm is the lesser of two evils. Chuy represents the radical left wing of the leftist Democratic party. Just look at who endorsed him, Jesse Jackson, Danny Davis, Karen Lewis, Move on.org etc. Part of the same people who marched in Ferguson, New York City and other places calling for "dead cops." A person and a politician are judged by the company that they keep and who endorses them. Surprised that so many of my brothers and sisters in blue can't see this.
