Mixed Bag

Looks like 4 more years for Rahm; get ready for some giant changes.

A minor bright spot - Napolitano appears to have won, while Garrido continues his Don Quixote impersonation. Other incumbent aldercreatures are currently about a 50/50 split between retaining office and losing it.

Updates later, sometime after the Hawks' game.

This will be the last term for Rahm as he will choose not to run again. He will then have a free hand to make the changes that he wants to make and the changes that he feels he must make to save the city. This will be his legacy, saving Chicago from bankruptcy. He will let the public schools go into bankruptcy and back a state constitutional amendment on the ballot in the state in 2016 to allow changes to existing pensions. Anyone who thinks that taxes alone will save the city and pensions is just not paying attention. At this point it does not matter where fault lies regarding the poor state of the pensions, it must be fixed or all city employees will be hurt. The federal courts have already ruled that federal bankruptcy trumps the state constitution. No one wants to go there. Karen Lewis wanted Garcia and an elected school board in the hopes of heading off a school system crash.A sliding state income tax will not come about. Rauner will not let it and he has said so. NJ has one and it did not solve their problems.

Faster. Raise the Beat. 15. We need more speed. Raise the Beat. 24.

There. Now that everyone is rowing in the Big Galleon Chicago. Welcome back to the bowels of the ship.

ROW - or be whipped.

Between drum beats and rowing oars, let's not hear any complaints while Admiral Rahm has a cheese party up on deck.

Evidently, you all like being galley slaves.

Unimpressive win for Rahm, but it counts. His massive spending and voter suppression techniques succeeded. Where was that 20% margin from the Rahmie pollsters at?

In the City Council, Emanuel's allies suffered a few more defeats.

So...

It's apparent that the citizens of this city don't have enough hatred in their hearts to set a course of correction?

The same big money bunch that funded Shortshanks have been funding Rahm.

Now you will never know he true depth of venality, depravity and thievery that ruined this city financially.

Now the characters involved will breath a sigh of relief knowing they have successfully gamed every fail-safe and firewall to profit obscenely at the taxpayer's expense.

Of course, all cannons will be turned against all municipal employees and Police in particular since so many are fixated on The Police incurring some kind of harm to "help" mitigate a "municipal financial crisis" that they did not precipitate.

Played by the rules we did...
Not that we were looking for any reward
other than the money we were paid and
the pension we signed on for and the
satisfaction of doing what we signed on for.

A family member once said: "You guys got a lot of nerve thinking you could come on this job, do it well and be competent at it and not incur any costs."

The war against The Police continues.

Work the job like you have no friends.

Survive.
Escape.

They do not. The 10.5 hour days implemented immediately after a contract is settled is just one small example.

Rauner wants all pensions frozen at the rate they are on July 1, 2015. Then all current and new employees pensions will go into a reduced benefit plan including no COLA. We don't get COLA but a reduction in benefits is awful enough. Even though this will not save the state much money, this is what they want,

I tend to agree with you. I don't think that Rahm wants to be known as the mayor who led this town into bankruptcy. But, I think he would not mind letting the schools go bankrupt and he will back a move to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot in November 2016 to allow changes to pensions. Do you think we have the voters on our sides? I think not. Most comments that I have seen by citizens, political pundits and financial people is that a pension of 50 grand a year is very generous. Rauner is backing a state constitution amendment that will freeze all pensions going forward for active workers and no changes for retirees. He is also backing a state bill already submitted by a democrat that would allow for easier bankruptcy filings which is intended directly for the Chicago Board of Education. things will be rough in the coming years and rocky. Hold on, tight.

He took away 50 schools from the Black community and Rahm still wins all black wards? What gives?

Sending O'Connor back to the Deli to slice corned beef was the best thing for the under protected 41st Ward (1621). She can revert back to her old address now.

******************
While you sat on the sidelines and bitched, Mary O’Connor had the stones to jump into life and make shit happen. She opened her own business; help build up Edison park, put on the turkey trot, quietly and with class has helped tons of people, and then became an Alderman. What the fuck have you ever done? You live on 1621? You aren’t satisfied with all the new streets, new Wildwood annex, saving the ambulance that was going to be taken away from the Edgebrook firehouse, repairing the the underpass at Lehigh . Not good enough for you eh?
Here is a bet, 4 years from now you will be bitching that Napolitano is a sellout cause your tree has a branch hanging down, the future superintendent will be an asshole, your kids teachers are picking on your perfect child..etc. Mary is what’s good about our community, you bring nothing but negativity and bitterness.

Doherty can bring back his outfit buddies from the new republican organization to help him run the ward and be the puppet master to napolitano. Doherty the arrogant little punk ass kisser to the mcauliffes will dictate to everyone. Maybe Dvorak can come back to and help Doherty. What a complete and total laugh.

I really miss Mayor Mumbles. Let's bring back Washington, Byrne and Sawyer from the dead! The three of them would get this city back on track! LOL

Mary Oconnor good for the community? Are you insane. Probably 100 less cops in 16. Section 8 increase, in last 6 months took 63K from Ohare, lies about the 17 million to Taft. That happened during last administration. Total assholes and disrespectful in Ward office. Little or no services till 3 weeks before runoff. How about voting with. Rham 98% of the time. How about garbage can requests made by homeowners 5-6 months ago and delivered the day before the election. Even in Edgebrook/Wildwood she lost two of her preciants, won two and barely won the other two. How about the shill candidate Lomanto she put up? Fuck that part time thief, who doesn't even own property in the ward. Good riddance to somebody that came out in public stating she and Rham will be getting rid of the 3% raises to the Police and Fire like they did with everybody else.

I ended up working 48th and 45th and 38th Wards this week, so I can honestly say it wasn't me in 19 or 11 or 41. Decided I didn't want to go Southside this week.

But for some food for thought; I got my quarterly dismissal rate for Jan to March: .0075% out of 3000 tickets dismissed.

Cheers!

In the next 4 years these same 41st ward Pro-Naps people will be bitching, bitching & bitching about how he is Napping at the wheel & I can't get an extra garbage can & you didn't call me or email me back about my flickering street light just like a broken hearted school girl!
41st ward voted 64% for the raccoon.
Nice - maybe next time you should do your homework instead of thinking your voting for the prom King & Queen!

pro-Napping supporter!
Has anyone told the Fireman yet that for the next 4 years he might have to work more than 60 days a year?
Oh - Never mind - that's right - Doherty is his mentor.
41st ward should have voted:
No-to Brian/NapolitaNo!
Yes-Mary O'ConnorYes!
