Shots Fired at Police

  • A 16-year-old boy was charged with trying to kill a cop after the teen allegedly fired at a police officer in the Uptown neighborhood Sunday afternoon, officials said Monday.

The boy, who is from Chicago but whose name was not available, was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing a gun with a defaced serial number, said [...] a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The charges stem from an incident that happened about 3 p.m. Sunday on the 4600 block of North Kenmore Avenue, police said.

According to police, the teen was running away from police when the boy turned and fired his weapon at the officer.
Amazing how the assailant got a hold of a gun, what with all the laws and rules against it. Good thing no one was injured.

SCC: This has nothing to do with this article.I am the proud mother of P.O. Densey J.Cole II who was responding to a call in the 022 Dist. on May27,2009 which resulted in him becoming a quadrapalegic. He owned his own home in Bevelry. In the 1st three years after his accident & living in an apartment, the city was having contractors look over his home in order to make it a home to accomadate his needs. During all that time he was making the monthly payment on the home. The city then tells him they won't put the money into the home, that he needs to sell it. As we all know the year that P.O.Cole bought his home the market was at an all time high. When it came time to sell it, the home got sold for exactly what was owned & real estate fee to the agent & broker. He also then had to put all of his furniture into storage where it still remains for nearly 3 years at the rate of $200.00 per month.

Never was the home being forclosed on nor was it a short sale. For as long as I live I will never forget Chairman Edward Burke coming to Christ Hospital the day of the accident. After discussing Densey's condition he told me that he built Jim Mullen's house & would do the same for Densey so I should not worry. The city takes care of their own. Well heres the bomb shell. My son is being evicted July 8th,2015 Wed because the city has not paid the utilities & the apt. complex has been fighting with them for the past 2 years. The city was signing 6 month leases, but apparently not reading them. Densey since this past May 20, 2015 has had 2 surgeries & now has 8 days to pack, find a place to live. I retired from this job with 22 years, his Dad retired with 29 years. My son went to work just like you guys & gals do, God forbid if it happens to you. I have contacted the FOP,

The Committee of Finance, The Police Memorial Foundation, Alderman Burke to no avail.Iam begging each & every one of you for help for my son. He unfortunately will not be the only officer that this will happen to because of the type of job we did/do. He nor his family are not asking for anything more than what anyone should get in this situation & that is a right to live his life with dignity. The clock is ticking. I am asking you all to step forward & do the right thing & be a strong voice for my son & any future officers who may need this help. This is a disgrace that we cannot allow to happen, a 44 quadrapalegic CPD officer who had 17 years on the job. He woke up, got dressed, went to roll call, took a job & has never know a day of peace yet. My e-mail is weezee550@comcast.net. Respond to this call, blessings to all of you. Louise

Background checks at the Uptown Gun Shows would have prevented this boy from having an illegal gun.

Even though he was under 21, had no FOID Card, No serial number on the gun, and tried to kill a Policeman.

Same thing happened in 014 two weeks ago. a 15 or 16 year old fired at an officer in Logan Square. The teen got charged with attempt murder. The citizens of Logan Square were instrumental in helping the police catch the teen as they kept the police apprised of the direction and location of the bad guy and one even talked to the ASA. The citizens of Logan Square are quite pro-police.

The City should have posted "gun free zone" signs on that block- that would have prevented this from ever happening.

Check out this short video. It starts as a legit TV news story from Wisconsin and ends with a ghetto interview. Chilling, and it touts a book that might be worth looking at.

These ignorant elected officials and media types drone on and on about
"Gun Crime."

They should be punched in the mouth every fucking time that
ill-informed phrase comes flying out.

Plenty of effective gun laws on the books but these rabbit-hearted,
squishy-minded, hand-wringing, wet-eyed liberal punks recoil in horror
at the notion of an invigorated, refreshed and fully powered Police Department
actively hunting, putting a hurt on and destroying if necessary, the illegally armed urban
criminals who have exacted a sorrowful toll on this city.

A ban IS NOT the answer.

Guns in the hands of upright,
trained, aware and grimly
resolved upright citizens
IS the answer.

Liberals say:
"EEEK! Why are you cops so mean, hateful and violent?
Stop that! It fucks with our cherished notion of friendly,
humble, non-aggressive public servants. Why can't you
Chicago Coppers be just like the Bobbies in London?"

Heh...
Sheeeeeit!
The Bobbies ARE up-arming, getting mean and fighting back
against the creeping cruds that have turned so much of Chicago
into a filled to the rim toilet.

Yesterday's Times about a less-than-handful of Chicago communities
untouched by Homicides?

These are communities that have also had their paid for Police protection
stolen from them by Rahm and McCarthy.

These are also communities that have felt an increased presence of
"Catered To Constituents" who have fled their over-Policed breeding grounds
to pursue criminal undertakings to where they know The Police AIN'T.

Hey Rahm!
Release a list to your media whores about the neighborhoods that have seen
"Aggravated Mopery" associated offenses blow through the roof.

You know...
Burglaries.
Home Invasions.
Thefts.

You know...
Working people forced to "give" some of what they have
to the wandering Englehoodians as a punitive "tax" for the foul and
fucked up way you choose to govern?

We anticipate sundry human remains cropping up in curious places as
current trends continue and decent law-abiding citizens do what they
need to do to protect/defend/fight back without overly troubling the legal and judicial systems with
cleaning up the mess.

Although the usual culprits in the media and elected officialdom will be
beside themselves in faux outrage at this natural progression forced
in place by their own actions and words...

You know...
Their narrative and their agenda.

An' shit...

It upsets them when people with compelling rules to abide by, take
up a notion to fight mean and dirty like everybody else.

Today in the courtroom of judge Clarence Burch, room 303, branch 46, the police lost a case where the defendant battered and resisted officers and lied repeatedly, under oath, was impeached, and found not guilty.
The defendant arrived 45 minutes late to court and had a 'witness' with him that was not even on the scene and also lied, in fact, according to the state, the lies didn't even match up. The entire story told by both was false. The judge conducted a bench trial that lasted for over an hour and then immediately came to the shocking conclusion of NOT guilty. The judge would not answer any questions and immediately left the court room. Officers were told by States Attorneys that the judge, due to the current political climate, referencing Ferguson and Baltimore, will NOT find in favor of the police in assault, battery or resisting cases. Good luck out there, as if the deck wasn't already stacked against us...

They damned well better be! A studio apartment goes for a minimum of $900/month, thanks to the agreement among the cabal of real estate investors in the area. Home prices have gone up at least ten percent in the last year, with condos priced the same as single-family homes. There's a big investment to be protected in Logan Square. (But watch out for the hipsters, who think it's unkind to incarcerate those poor 'disadvantaged' thieves and batterers.)

And double-secret-extra-special-amazing that he got ahold of a HANDGUN at 16 yrs of age. Thought one had to be 21 to possess a handgun in Illinois?

Did he have a FOID card?

How about a CCL?

Defaced serial # is a federal crime right?

So this little turd should be charged with State and Federal crimes, and tossed in State Juvy until he's 18, then picked up and transferred to State Prison for the duration of the time, and THEN he should get to serve his Federal bit...

Put his face up on a poster and say at the top of it (instead of WANTED):

"In Jail for 30 years"

Then under his face, put the list of charges, and the time to be served.

And under no circumstances should they allow a plea bargain, early release, parole, "time served", or concurrent sentencing...

Send the message that if you do this, even if you're under 18 - you're essentially DONE for the next 30 years. No more kid gloves on this jagoffs.

Not so sure it was a hit job. I checked out the link and saw evidence (with article links) of several race neutral police shootings, some good some bad. I think it depends on how you look at it. Whatever their intent was, it shows the normality of police shootings in America and that the same good and bad shootings happen regardless of race. There was one where a white female with 14 years on the job got charged with murder after shooting a white male in the back while deploying a 2nd taser cycle, as he was on the ground not showing one of his hands. The general public has no idea how real these scenarios are. They think a human being acts and functions in a normal state during these incidents.

I recall an old timer told me about the shortest Firearms Use Report he ever saw on a fatal shooting. Allegedly it went, "RO was fired upon. RO returned fire. Subject was DOA at County Morgue." Short and sweet. Whether it happened or not I don't know but it was a good story. That was in the days or the multipart carbon paper formset.

Uh, years ago the BEAT officers had a lot MORE to do with that citizen/police relationship than anyone else.

Everyone knew the beat guys and the beat guys knew everyone. They knew which family just lost their dad and which family always fought the police. They quietly brought Christmas gifts to the apartment where they knew the kids had no money for school pictures or winter boots. They pushed cars out of snowbanks (and they didn't roll through deep slush to spray people waiting at bus stops just for fun).

And then, computers and bean counters and self-promoters and neighborhood organizers up-ended everything.
