- Mexico mounted an all-out manhunt Sunday for its most powerful drug lord, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who escaped from a maximum security prison through a 1.5-kilometer (1 mile) tunnel from a small opening in the shower area of his cell, according to the country's top security official.
The elaborate underground escape route, built allegedly without the detection of authorities, allowed Guzman to do what Mexican officials promised would never happen after his re-capture last year — slip out of one of the country's most secure penitentiaries for the second time.
"This represents without a doubt an affront to the Mexican state," said President Enrique Pena Nieto, speaking during a previously scheduled trip to France. "But I also have confidence in the institutions of the Mexican state ... that they have the strength and determination to recapture this criminal."
A custom built tunnel a mile long? Yeah, pardon our doubt el Presidente. If this guy could get out of a "most secure prison," imagine his reach into other prisons. We've heard of a couple Chicago brothers who ought to be sleeping a bit less soundly in their prison beds right now.

"A Baltimore woman was reportedly arrested Saturday morning for throwing water on city Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake as she greeted residents at an event.
Lacheisa Pailin-Sheffer, 37, is accused of running up to Rawlings-Blake and pouring a large cup of liquid of the mayor’s head, according to the Baltimore Sun. The mayor’s aides rushed to dry her off, while the protection united [sic] grabbed Pailin-Sheffer and arrested her.
"Pailin-Sheffer was charged with second-degree assault, police said.

They dug in. Tunnel was undoubtedly started from a warehouse/farm building/like that a mile from the prison, and surveyed out carefully to hit the spot they wanted. Anyone can get a laser at Home Depot to help keep things straight. Saw some pics on TV, Bobcats and stuff inside a building. Only way you'd be able to get rid of the dirt.
Only thing that surprises me is that they didn't put in a red carpet.
Money talks real loud down there. So do the guns pointed at your family if you don't take the envelope and play along. Office petty cash to El Jefe is a year, two, three year's salary to a poor working man.
These f__ers been tunneling under the border for years now. Some tunnels even had narrow-gauge railroad tracks laid like in a mine tunnel, the quicker to push the dope along...Mining industry has been suborned by organized crime, so it'd be no trouble to get some really experienced guys with the aforementioned big-money-or-you-all-die offer.

Tunnel my a**. The tunnel was just a ploy to save face. The guy walked out the front door of the prison probably a month ago. He's one of the richest men in Mexico and there money talks and not the rule of law.

The concept that the cartels are beyond the control of any honest Mexican government to prevent damage to the U.S.. The cartels and their leaders pose a clear and present danger to the United States and must be dealt with by force of arms.
If we can find and kill Osama Ben Laden then we can do the same with El Chapo. I wouldn't have any problem if Seal Teams took him out in the middle of Plaza del Torros at high noon.
What will El Chapo do next....
If he stays in Mexico he will move from hideout to hideout or he will have a fortress retreat like Osama Bin Laden but with more arms and luxury. The local police and army units will be on his payroll.
Next I think he will flood the U.S. with drugs almost giving the stuff away. He will try to recruit a new generation of stoners and destabilize the government even more by buying every politician available at all levels.
I think he will also start a border war. He will stoke up the Caifornication rebels that take down the U.S. flag at schools and replace it with the Mexican flag. Do more of what Obama did in bringing more Mexican and Central American teens into this country, but he BHO he will keep tabs on them as future soldiers.
He may even start to booby trap his drug loads. Warn Customs Agents, we know you live and your families. Now when they search some vehicles there may be a couple of pounds of explosive wrapped up in the drugs. So don't look so hard.
Stay Safe. Even if El Chapo is recaptured or killed, someone else will take his place.
