Two Police Shootings South
- Chicago Police shot two people — one fatally — in two separate incidents on the South Side Thursday night and Friday afternoon.
In both cases, an offender pointed a gun at an officer, who fired in self defense, police say.
In the first incident, Martice Milliner, 27, was fatally shot late Thursday after he aimed a firearm at an officer in Greater Grand Crossing, officials said.
- In the second incident, a Gang Investigations officer who was threatened with a gun during a traffic stop shot and injured someone in the 10600 block of South Cottage Grove, police said.
After officers pulled over the vehicle, someone inside took out a handgun and pointed it at police, the statement said. An officer then shot the person, who was placed into custody and taken to a hospital.
Two guns recovered and a job well done to all involved.

"someone inside took out a handgun and pointed it at police...An officer then shot the person."
Again.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
Great job officers. Bad guys caught, guns recovered and most importantly the good guys are safe.
Thank God POs are ok, the police should always be the one with the hot gun in hand and the wild life 6 feet under ...ALL that matters is the officers go home to there families.
Guns recovered, perps "neutralized" and NO OFFICERS INJURED. The hat trick.
Congratulations on defending yourselves against idiots threatening deadly force.
If you can get out the truth about what actually happened quickly you will prevent problems, and defuse the race baiters.
One of these thugs will do something really stupid, a poor cop will be forced to defend himself, and a video of the poor angel getting wacked will be released.
BOOM! Ferguson times 20! Baltimore time 3!
Be careful, stay safe. Stay out of trouble.
5th district Raider says the shooting @ 106 is gonna be a fatal soon...guy coded three times already..the 4th time is a charm!
$5000 bond and see you on the street today.
Thank you for your service and good Job.........
I have been gone over 5 years.Worked every bulls riot and every other cluster fuck demonstration.Detail Orders were printed up, and it was nice to see a ballsy boss in charge. In the very end, it was the veteran Officers and Sgts who were in the midst of shit to get the job done. That's it.

This is from a previous post.
I will tell you Mr. Retiree that the day of the boss with balls is over. Those bosses knew that the citizens and the Mayor wanted them to do what needed to be done, even if it was grudgingly. They may be a little damage done to a career, but over all the safety of the citizenry was paramount and that goal that WOULD be achieved.
Sadly, the politicians have become spineless at best, and at worst they are our biggest enemy. They are career politicians. They will say and do anything to stay in office, in power. Many a career was fortified at the expense of a copper just trying to do the right thing. Now the career politician sees an officer on the front lines as a potential stepping stone to more power. These parasites sit on the fringe and wait for their opportunity to get in front of a TV camera and further their end.
The good citizens are too few and not nearly as vocal as they need to be. The police spirit that was when I came on almost twenty seven years ago is broken. If the Bulls riots happened today, the city would burn. Be afraid good citizens. You are not nearly as safe as you were a few decades ago by a long shot. Police officers are afraid of being proactive and they have every right to be.
Great to hear both incidents turned okay for the good guys. Careful boys and girls the savage, has zero respect !
Old Guy..
T.V. and films are causing the needless deaths of young African Americans. It seems that from watching T.V. and Movies, their is an assumption out there that when you point a gun at a young, hip compassionate Chicago Cop, he is going to engage in a snarky dialogue, followed by a commercial break. Real World is: Point yo shit at da Poleece, an dey gonna cap yo ass; Foo! "G"
'Once he was shot, he fell to the ground. As he was lying on his side, he grabbed the gun again and pointed it at the officer, who then shot him again,...' (chuckle)
I'm sorry but there's something about the way that's phrased that's kind of amusing.
Anywho, when are these assholes gonna get it into their thick skulls that pointing a gun at police is a losing fucking proposition, that things are guaranteed to not go your way when you do that.
Oh well, add Martice Milliner to list of people -- and folk -- who decided to enter the: *Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes* contest. (LOL)

Could McCarthy's remarks about Antonio Brown have sparked a reverse in media attitude towards the police?
Chicago Breaking News today speaks of the shootings/homicides and exposes the negative and uncooperative attitude of those people we deal with. "Where was you at when this happened." Then they walk away when asked for contact information.
Or is this just a short phase, soon to go back to the "everything is the fault of the police"
It's up to you media

Somebody sounds jealous.
Sounds like we went 2 for 2. Good shootin boys.
I'm happy to hear that the officers are ok. A SEAL (ret)
Trace these guns used in crimes. Find and punish those who are negligent or unlawfully selling them. Improperly stored weaponry is part of the problem too.
What is it with these punks? Do they think that going down in a show of defiance against the police will turn them into the next Trayvon, Michael Brown, or Freddie Gray? That in death, they'll become the next media darling instead of being remembered as something scraped off the bottom of a shoe?
The thing that upsets me most is not the fact that politics is running rampant in the department but that its done with such disregard. Did 014 have a special study group of 5 where 4 made the first sergeants class? is there a correlation between this group and the fact that the secret study group leader is a subject matter expert?. No wonder Dean Jr is moving on up.
Was there shots fired at the police in 11 last night?
Say when...Im your huckleberry !
Instead of beating the drum of ignorance, I would like the media in Chicago to be the first outlet in the country to start calling these what they really are, unproved attacks against the police by violent black youth. Unless we admit there is a problem we can't begin to solve it.
Prayers to those involved , go home to family and Thank You for you Service
Sad about boy in stroller killed today.
To the Navy SEAL who commented- Thank you very much for your service in protecting this great country. I'm glad you were able to come home safely. God bless.

If you are the Police you should not be afraid of anything! Poor choice of words or afraid of the job? No one wants to get jammed up but being afraid will get you hurt!
It's been said thousands of times in police circles, but no one outside listens.
We never get up for work looking to have to shoot someone or take a life.
We realize that it may come to that some day, to protect ourselves or others.
While we are asked daily to sacrifice on behalf of others, we still believe in self defense, not suicide.

Isn't the CAGE team and the 10 PO's detailed to ATF with no Sgt. suppose to be doing that during their 5-6 hour tour?
