Death would be preferable, but we're biblical that way:
- Wearing a blue and white dress, the widow of slain Chicago police Officer Thor Soderberg walked to the front of a packed Cook County courtroom Wednesday and poured out some of the pain from her vast loss.
"I lost everything," Jennifer Loudon said, at times dabbing the tears from her eyes as she spoke of the couple's plans to become foster parents, buy a house and live abroad. "I had no idea it was possible to lose so much in a single lifetime, much less in a single moment."
Sitting nearby at the defense table, Bryant Brewer, convicted last month of Soderberg's slaying, mocked Loudon. He put his head down and rubbed his eyes with his fists as Loudon wept on the witness stand. Then he lifted his head and laughed.
Moments later, Judge Timothy Joyce cited Brewer's "malignant heart" as he sentenced him to life plus 115 years in prison for "executing" Soderberg with his own service weapon and then shooting at three other officers and a civilian in 2010.
We probably haven't heard the last of this piece of waste, and that is truly unfortunate.

Hopefully this animal isn't freed after doing some time like Officer Barron's killer Joseph Bigsby was.
We can only imagine what prisoner review boards will be like 10-20 or 30 years from now.

In an ideal world, this monster would face a firing squad selected from our ranks. There would be no shortage of volunteers, I wager. Unfortunately, as long as the political class (bolstered by a media sympathetic to the Agenda) panders to a constituency that stands against law and order, and as long as these politicians bend over backwards to excuse or encourage sociopathic behavior without consequence of punishment, there will never be any real justice. And the Silent Majority would have no objection to watching a televised broadcast of this monster being lit on fire. But because of the loud clamor of the few who are against us, and cheer whenever an officer is injured or falls, we are in such a sorry state.

I like Wisconsin's life WITHOUT parole = life means life.
Death penalty cases have lots of problems and, most important, they take a lot of resources away from other violent criminals. Not worth it. But I like Wisconsin's "the sentence you get is the sentence you serve" example and life without parole means just that. One or two appeals and it's over. Move on to the next dirtbag.
The death penalty would be a long legal process taking up hundreds of thousands, or even millions of taxpayers dollars over they years. He would get celebrity sympathy crusaders and all sorts of liberal idiots to bolster his cause. For what.
Better he dies a very slow agonizing, arthritic, bone chilled death in a concrete box in a place where he is forgotten about and probably would have gotten there sooner or later.
I want to hear ten or fifteen years from now that this mope died after a long and painful battle with lung cancer or something else gruesome. Other than that he should be for forgotten.

Actually George Ryan put a moratorium on the death penalty. Pat Quinn signed the bill making it law.
