The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association of the City of New York, the largest NYPD union, called this order "foolish" and "limiting."
"The message ordering New York City Police Officers to leave their weapons at home if they are off-duty and attending a Papal event is dangerous. Our officers are fully trained professionals who are on-duty around the clock and would represent additional response resources in the event of an emergency," PBA president Patrick Lynch said in a statement. "Limiting their ability to intervene is foolish and flies in the face of common sense and public safety. It reduces the city’s ability to protect his Holiness, it doesn’t enhance it."

If the Bears are going to be bad, then just fucking be bad so at least we get something out of it (a good draft pick). But rather, the Bears will probably be 5 wins and 11 losses getting them an ok draft pick.

Thanks for making us look like assholes in a public forum. You must be a gem to work with. Outting your brother and sister officers as some low lives. How do you know that it wasn't some drunken yuppies or stupid college kids did this? But rather you blame some other officers. A class act you are!

The best football game that will be seen at Soldier Field this year will take place on November 28, 2015 when Illinois plays Northwestern.
Memo to Bears ownership: Good teams pay to have capable substitutes on the roster because injuries are a given in the NFL. Saving money by having a cheap set of back up players is a recipe for disaster. If you want to compete stock up on players and pay realistic wages.
The only way the Bears can win is if the other team doesn't show up to play.

I've got news for you, original poster. That stairwell smelled like piss in March of 2012 when the merge happened. Homeless would be in there in bad weather and drunk Clark St refugees walking by would go in the wrong side of the garage all the time. God knows what Halsted St patrons were doing in there. Blaming P.O.'s, or their families, is totally low class of you. Where's your super duper station security at? Another hidden spot for someone whiny p.o. Have your afternoons desk guy who wrote the parking ticket in the structure (to a co-worker) do a little more foot patrol and make sure no one is in the stairwell. I am so glad I left that hellhole.
Heard they'll let the State Championship high school team play the Bears this year.
I wonder if the Bears will put ANY points up on the board this season.

That parking lot is half police and half public use. Now who get's drunk at Cubs games and local saloons and leaves their load of piss in the police lot? Police officers who work there or suburban assholes all pissed up? You take a guess. Ald Tunney demanded that half that lot go to civilians. And they got it.
We've already had Officer's cars vandalized inside our own lot. Who do you suppose did that?
