Rahm Supports Garry
- Rahm has Garry’s back.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel reiterated Tuesday in no uncertain terms that he supports Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy.
“I’m standing by him,” Emanuel announced after an award ceremony honoring police, firefighters and paramedics.
His comments came less than 24 hours after the City Council’s Black Caucus called for McCarthy’s ouster, claiming he’s been unresponsive to the drug dealing, loitering and other “quality of life” issues in the aldermen’s communities.
“I understand their frustration,” Emanuel said, but he added: “My focus . . . is on gangs and guns, not on Garry.”
Nice alliteration there Rahm - Jesse and Al would be proud!
Some amusing finger-pointing from the aldercreatures during the whole charade:
- “Over the years, we’ve attempted to work with your administration to no avail,” said Ald. Anthony Beale (9th).
“Superintendent, you have been extremely disrespectful to every member in this body. . . . You are not the smartest person in the room all the time,” he said.
Actually, McCompStat was probably was in the top four or five...after all, the room was full of aldercreatures which brought down the collective IQ by magnitudes.
In any event, the mayor is standing by his choice. Heaven forbid he should ever admit he might need a change or he might have made a mistake.

Didn't the mayor also say he backed Brizard fully, too, right before he got canned? Just sayin'.....
McStreetlights is a McGoof.
Regardless, even Rahm understands it's not McG's fault or even the CPD. It is the fault of himself and the City Council for shorting police manpower by so much to save money.
Emanuel 'stood by' Brizard, too, right up to the day before he fired him.
And he supported Barbara Byrd-Bennett, too, right up to the moment he didn't.
And then there was that Comptroller-guy.
And...
If Emanuel wholeheartedly supported me, I'd be very, very worried.
Garry McCarthy: CPD's Rex Grossman.

The Big Guy is out of NYPD. There is no mistake, the proudest, finest, and most effective big city police force in the world. NYPD is the gold standard by which all other PD's are judged.
What does the White Caucus say about it? Oh, I forgot. You can't suggest such a group or you be racissssss. What utter bullshit.
You could have filled the room with softboiled eggs and the aldermen would still be the dumbest people in the room.
The two biggest mistakes Rahm made were Brizzard and Garry. If he lets Garrry go he admits that. Aint gonna happen unless everyone keeps pushing. They'll get a biscuit and fall in line though.
Start packing Garry. When he says he stands by you, it's time to go before you get hit by the bus.
So are we going to have long sleeve shirts for everybody to standardize the uniform? Do away with all the combos.
I didn't hear one member of the distinguished body mention the fact that their own constituents are the majority of the offenders.
009 is partying !!! SJ is going to OCD. Sherman the Germ Jefferson is gone!!!!!
This whole department is corrupted and fucked up. You got sgt (Sherm germ) that came from OCD as a P.O that did dirt and fucked up shit, lied about his educational degree couldn't get promoted until he finished it and still got a merit promotion. He went to 009 as a impact sgt stirred shit up and spars ppo's and po for not moving a bike from a crime scene and everything else cause he ain't getting his way. Trying to get impact ppo's fired by calling and crying to Commander Melar and Paneopinto about they not come in on time they coming in with no activity. Gets into it with other fellow sgts because he can't get his way and no body gives him respect. He gets fellow sgts in trouble about a school incidents and go crying to Commander Godsel about his reputation is being jeopardized by the other sgt cause all he's trying to do is his job. He has cried some much that he's going back to OCD. He need to grow some balls and man up. When you do wrong it's get covered up and you moved. He'll fuck up in OCD just like these other bosses they handing out spots to like candy. Sherm germ your fellow sgts are glad to see your crying and complaining ass
If the choice is between Gary and the black caucus, I'll side with Gary every time.
Hey, Let the VRI Train keep rolling along... I'll Keep paying the house down at a Faster Rate so I can Retire and GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS CITY just that much FASTER!
Blame the Police Chief for lack of a family structure in their crime plague neighborhoods! The high schools are just as bad crime in side and outside their schools who are they gonna blame for that head of CPS board president?
"Rahm Supports Garry!!!"
Gary, INdiana, Gary, InDIAna, Gary, IndiANA.
Pack yo s_t.
Theatrics. Gerr is Gone. Waiting for the next #HandsUpDontShoot. Last three Supes were white. That just ain't fair.
Rahm knows once he gives in there will be no going back. The violence problem is not due to the Superintendent - they have always been a convenient scapegoat. I give Rahm credit.
Too bad all of this didn't start before the election! Garry would be G-O-N-E!
I heard that the Supe and Rahm gave each other Wet Willies after that.
Civilian here.
I have an idea. Regarding the alderman and alderwomen asking for the superintendent's head, why don't they hold news conferences in front of all the gang leaders' homes and demand that the gangs stop the shootings and the drug dealing? They know where those people live and, if not, I'm sure the CPD would be delighted to provide those addresses to them. Now I understand that it might be a bit...awkward, considering that the alderpeople may know some of these individuals and possibly even receive political contributions from these citizens. But shouldn't "Black Lives Matter" target, primarily, black-on-black crime?
Observations of an old, tired Cop...
It's the height of hilarity that the "Chicago City Council Black Caucus"
is calling for McAssOut's big, stupid, Irish head to be lopped off,
affixed to a pole and paraded around the tribal zones of de facto impunity.
It is also irony to the point of comedy that McOut-Of-Ideas-&-Time was actually
arrogant and stupid enough to not only believe his own hype, but also to believe
that his tenure in Chicago would end well...
What is it with ever-grasping tyrants and their dearly held expectation that when it comes
to an end, that it will be peaceful and in a room full of fragrant flowers, bathed in warm
sunshine with a chamber ensemble playing softly in the background as solicitous attendants
gently fluff pillows and what-not?
>Hey... Ya fuckin' "schtoopid" or somethin'?<
That blissed-out, "go toward the bright light" exit is reserved
only for the made members of Daley Inc. and Rahm & Co.
(Or so they want you noisy rabble to believe)
Sorry Gar...
It ain't gonna end well for you at all.
Regardless of the money and notoriety.
Regardless of the broads and booze.
Regardless of the room you were given to destroy...
No soft focus and sweet music for you Gar...
More like sweats, fevers, demented screams and beshat
bed clothes while your ill gotten gain is being spent from under you.
Thus be it ever to tyrants and mean little men
with animus writ large and over-weening, ever grasping ambition
to afflict the world with their misery because they were improperly
disciplined, socialized and medicated during their formative years.
Plenty of unbalanced, angst ridden, unresolved issue having m/fers
at the forefront of Chicago and national politics, but that's gist for
another day.
The black caucus whines about being ignored by McFeeling-For-Rahm's-Knife-Between-His-Shoulder-Blades.
This shit was scripted...
Garry took his "I'm accountable to no one" cues
from Rahm himself.
Rahm ignores the black caucus for as long and as often
that suits his own purposes and designs... Right?
Meanwhile...
Those rebellious, out of control, free-thinking,
Cops are the problem here in Chicago.
Fix them and everything else will snap right into place.
Or so the powers that be seem to think...
Where does the "White Caucus" stand on Gary's performance?
Just curious...
I cringe at what Mcarthys replacement would be. So to all you Mcarthys critics who do you suggest?
what difference does it make? the city could hire Jesus Christ himself as police superintendent and it would change almost nothing.
the next supe will be black. Who is on the top of the list?
When Rahms kid got beat up is was not Garrys fault. I don't blame Mc Drunky I blame him and the department. For being so unresponsive to crime for not caring. Till something much worse happens how much? I don't know!
Mr McCarthy just went on a listening tour all over the city, why did not the Aldermen meet with him and many of the Aldermen are collaborating with the gangs probably to stay in office.
Quality of life? One week it is "stop arresting black and brown", next week it's "police won't arrest loiterers"
Make up your mind
These Alder-Creatures are pretty funny. Every problem they're bitching about in their community starts in.....(wait for it).....(drum roll please)......(here it comes).....THE HOME!
---> Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) told McCarthy that “folks sell dope like candy” in his West Side ward. <---
Uh-huh, okay Alderman. And when little Johnny comes home with $300 sneakers, a Flat Screen TV, a state of the art stereo system, and has gold jewelry up the ass -- BUT!..never worked a day in his life, where the hell does his momma--auntie--grandma think he got the goddamn money from to buy it all?? How about slinging dope, huh you stupid asshole!
No wait....I know, he's a 'good boy', an ex-'honor student', and 'isn't in a gang', so he must have found a magic pony that shits $100 dollar bills. Right, you fucking MORON!!
---> 'Ald. Pat Dowell (3rd). . .said she was concerned about unruly gatherings in parks in her ward. <---
Oh really, 'unruly gatherings'. Well then why aren't they at goddamn school or at WORK! And if it's after 10:00 p.m. at home fucking sleeping -- so they can get their ass up in the morning and go to work or to school.
==========
These people are un-fucking-believable. Nothing is ever their goddamn fault. Every fucking problem they have they create for themselves and then want someone else to fix it.
Civilian here....that was done by Jody Weis, told them to knock it off, see how that worked?
McCarthy has had a run of over four years. He is an at will employee. It's been a good run, (made over a million dollars) and a bad run (heart attack) for him personally despite what people think of him. It sucks being the police right now whether you're the chief or the indian. Rahm will show him the door when he is ready and the black caucus is not going to dictate to him when. Rahm will not be running for re-election. McCarthy will either land somewhere else or enjoy retirement.
Someday down the road, McCarthy will be surfing the internet news and read about one or more of these alderman being indicted. And he will have a big grin on his face.
What I would have loved to have seen--just once in these circumstances--is someone who KNOWS he's heading out the door--to say outloud: You know damn well what the problem is. It's not the Po-lees -- it's the out of control ghetto behavior that years of welfare, momma-led family units, missing unknown fathers, drug use and the gangs in all of YOUR wards has led YOUR communities to--it's not a problem in the white districts. People don't gather on street corners in the middle of the night in white communities. Why? Because they have to get up and go to WORK in the morning. ... and on and on. Why not just get the truth out there--you're going to be hanged anyway. GO OUT TELLING THE TRUTH. Loved it when Maurer called out the "savage behavior" of these assholes. It cost him dearly, but it has gone down in the books as legend.
Gary takes the heat. That is what it is all about. The aldercreatures can blame Gary and not the mayor. He is being paid to be the fall guy.
"What is it with ever-grasping tyrants and their dearly held expectation that when it comes to an end, that it will be peaceful and in a room full of fragrant flowers, bathed in warm sunshine with a chamber ensemble playing softly in the background as solicitous attendants gently fluff pillows and what-not? Be of good cheer, BCP. Sometimes, in the end, they get what they truly deserve.
"According to Svetlana, Stalin's daughter, "Father's death was slow and difficult.... His face became dark and different... his features were becoming unrecognizable…. The death agony was terrible. It choked him slowly as we watched… At the last moment he suddenly opened his eyes. It was a horrible look — either mad, or angry and full of fear of death.... Suddenly he raised his left hand and sort of either pointed up somewhere, or shook his finger at us all... The next moment his soul, after one last effort, broke away from his body."
Hey, I mean, like wow, dude only killed about 20 million people (that you never hear about for some reason.)
May he ride his own jam-packed train to Siberia -- can't stand up, can't lay down, salted raw fish to eat and no water to drink -- forever.
Sic semper tyrannis
"Ionel Boyeru’s hands tremble slightly when he talks about the day he shot dead Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena, beside a toilet block in a freezing courtyard.
"On Christmas Day, 1989 he guarded the couple’s melodramatic show trial, led them out as Ceausescu sang the Internationale and his less-composed wife screamed “fuck you” at a mocking sergeant, lined them up against a wall then strafed them with bullets from his Kalashnikov."

"But shouldn't "Black Lives Matter" target, primarily, black-on-black crime?"

No.
#BLM is self-admittedly based upon the philosophy of escaped cop killer Joanne Chesimard -- aka "Assata Shakur" -- apparently still hiding in picturesque Cuba -- whose associates were implicated in the deaths of 13 police officers.
Obama should not do s__t regarding "normalizing relations with Cuba" until this b_tch is escorted in chains up the steps of the next US-bound flight to finish her life sentence here. Baby steps first, right?

Isn't the idea of forming a "black caucus" the same as forming a gang? They band together in order to fight together. There are a few black aldermen that won't join the Black Caucus gang and they are being ostracized. That is the same tactics gangs use to get kids to join. How can we tell kids not to cave into gang intimidation tactics when we have black aldermen doing just that.
Nothing wrong with McCarthy
He is one of the Best in my time
Eddie Johnson. Known him for years, and always was good to people. Yes, im a M-2, and I speak good of him
The average tenure for police chiefs is four years. McStreetlight has been here for five. Hey - shouldn't this be a CALEA Standard??
I believe that Wysinger bailed out before Garry got fired and Al might have been tapped for the top spot. He isn't used to having a position where he would have to make decisions and be responsible for his actions. With Garry in charge, Al didn't have to make the decisions nor justify his actions. All he had to do was strut around and look important. He is eminently qualified, however, in that he is black, stupid, and promoted by merit all the way up the chain.
I cringe at what Mcarthys replacement would be. So to all you Mcarthys critics who do you suggest?

So you are one of those "devil you know" guys? Never subscribed to that. To me that is just the same as the "battered woman" syndrome.
Me? I'm more of a fighter. Bring on the next guy. This New York experiment has been the biggest disaster this Department has ever seen. I'll try anything else.
Hey, Rahm! Here's an idea: Bring Deb Kirby back to Chicago. You can get rid of Garry AND you'll bring the first qualified female Superintendent to Chicago. The voters will LOVE that and you may just salvage a sliver of your reputation in the process. Think of your legacy.
The Big Guy is out of NYPD. There is no mistake, the proudest, finest, and most effective big city police force in the world. NYPD is the gold standard by which all other PD's are judged.

Yeah,
Google "NYPD" on Google News on a daily basis and see what kind of shit their members get involved in.
One of the best was one guy was accused of cannibalism.

Well..................Daley already had his say
GMac : "I remember about the rabbits, Rahm."
Rahm: "The hell with the rabbits. That's all you can ever remember is them rabbits."
GMac : “I can still tend the rabbits, Rahm? I didn't mean no harm, Rahm.”
Rahm: "An’ you get to tend the rabbits...look down there acrost the river, like you can almost see the place."

Did I miss this part in the Budget Hearing:
ALDERCREATURE" Supt McCarthy can you explain line item 41347 pertaining to coffee mugs and trinkets bought by your office.
Superintendant McCarthy: Are you referring to the coffee mugs with my name and picture on them?
Aldercreature: Yes Sir, I am. with the state of the budget can you spare these things
Superintendant: Why no, I am the great and colorful OZ. Next Question

That's simple- Eric Washington, he is the only exempt that stood up to the superintendent (Weis) and didn't retire. He got demoted back down to lieutenant afterward. Washington was mostly liked by most of the workers in 11. Taking his place Henny Penny, we all know how that went, she was removed and replaced with Evans, we all know what happened there, poor guy is getting railroaded because he told Ald. Ervin to F off. McCarthy had no one else to turn to so he begged Washington to go back to 11 as commander, do it for awhile and I'll promise you this.....Now chief of CAPS. Washingtons only problem in 11 was Lemmer but he couldn't do anything to him, XO's are put there by the Sup and the commander of that district can't have them removed. Good Luck Eric, 561 Team
He better support him , he appointed McCarthy and McCarthy is doing a damn good job .
It's the lack of family values in certain neighborhoods that cause crime , not the police
Deb Kirby? OMG PLEASE! She screwed up more crap in IAD and OCD than any TWO bosses!

"i like it, and no armed security (cpd) for those alderman because "" GUNS ARE BAD ""

...and aw yaw 25 (soon to come) aldermen leave yo strap in the nightstand.
...and no more BS like personal "gun registration amnesties" so Dick Mell got to keep his s__t. Busy and forgot, huh? Yeah. Now you got like 47 lengthy, triple-part, perforated passport applications to fill out, three photos per and everything, except you're a day or so late and your weapons have become "permanently unregisterable" while you had a family crisis or were flat on your back with the no-s__t incapacitating Chinese Bird Flu H1N1 XXX Triple or something "and subject to confiscation."
Still waiting for the word, maybe someone who used to work in the unit? No recriminations, you will not get motherf__ed, you worked where you were assigned. Let us know. We deserve to know. We worked and worried and ran around all over and sweated to comply, all in good faith.
Figure I have, about 6,500 people in this whole 9 x 27 mile city were law-abiding enough that they registered; and when decent citizen CALLS 911 on attempt home invasion (instead of opening up) it goes out on the zone "Ofc. caution, multiple registered guns at that address." Nothing about "multiple insane unknown hardheads with filed teeth, waving skulls on sticks at that address."
That was a real sucker game, huh? Way of weeding out the best of the best who'd never be a problem.
The Great Inversion. Descending spiral.
God bless all here. Stay safe.
...and when we get our 25 aldermen, hook 'em all to the Streets And San extension. After all, supposed to call for day-to-day local problems, right? You be on the rationalized grid system now.
Efficiency! Watchword for effective city government.

Then your time must be pretty short.
Charlie Williams will come back as civilian Superintendent. Then you shall wish McDrunkey back.

Lemmer's sole job in the last 5 years has been to babysit bosses that can't do their job. Don't know Washington, but how many times has he been demoted or moved?
Good morning Mr. Lemmer. Your job, should you choose to accept it (not that you have a choice, though, really)...............
"...why don't they hold news conferences in front of all the gang leaders' homes and demand that the gangs stop the shootings and the drug dealing? They know where those people live..."
10/07/2015 08:49:00 AM
Now THERE is a great idea...except you'd just get good shots of reporters holding microphones, knocking on closed doors that are never going to be opened.
...and here come the pit bulls from around the side of the place...
"Nice doggie!"
He also supported Brizzard and Bennet Bird
RAhM wont fire McCarthy he would have to pay off his contract, pay for another Blue Ribbon selection committee pay for in or out of town interviews and hire another yes man, give an out of towner re location money etc
