I went to gas mask training years ago but was one of the many who didn't get one because they ran out. I think 5 years elapsed between the training and my retirement, and I never did get one, not even for NATO. Very efficient, that CPD.
I'm sure they were of the very best quality, as the city would never do business with sub-par contractors just because they're somebody somebody sent.

Was in Tennessee recently small town Franklin nice place, was touring police station (beautiful) we discussed policing there versus the rahm/gary style no comparison! All their swat guys have take home cars, not cars but 4WD Tahoes even though not much snow,and every 2 years news vehicles are given to swat,fully equipped all fancy police stuff,and a myriad of radios that connect to feds,state,county rapidly in case of any attacks! No not going to work there almost finished my career here, but will tell you this spent 2 weeks there hung out with some coppers, you go to eat, you go to shows they love their police there, so much respect. Another tidbit you get a shoplifter, pick them up immediately take them to jail, processed there, spend 48 hours "in custody" before judge sets bail, they say shoplifting cases are declining wonder why? Elected support police, people support police,media supports police,crime rate really low perfect place to raise a family!
Another thing average real estate tax is $850.00 per year, gas was 23 cents cheaper! They don' t pass out free taxpayer welfare money, so they have a low rate of illegals and scumbag thugs! the good old boys network helps also (good old boys not racist trolls, these are taxpaying people that want their towns crime free,or seriously care)! The "southern belles are also pro-police (not going to explain!)
