F#$% You Rahm

Once again, SCC drags us out of retirement to say the things that they aren't allowed to say. Namely, to assess your actions calmly, thoroughly, methodically and completely in the amount of time it takes to come to a proper and legal decision that won't endanger your life, the lives of other officers, or your career.

In other words, slow down. In some cases, stop.

Rahm completely threw the Department under the bus, the Department we gave decades of our lives to, the Department that, while it didn't make us rich, provided us a decent standard of living and allowed us to send kids to school and college and finally, out-of-state, where we currently are spending our golden years.

His speech was pure unadulterated crap. This statement just fucking dumb:
  • Emanuel said he was with a group of young men last weekend, describing them as all having "a history with the criminal-justice system," but "trying to get on the right path, do the right thing."

"One young man asked me a simple question that gets to the core of what we're talking about. He said, 'Do you think the police would ever treat you the way they treat me?'

"And the answer is no," Emanuel said. "And that is wrong. And that has to change in this city. That has to come to an end now. No citizen is a second-class citizen in the city of Chicago."
Do you even know why the answer was "no" Rahm? Do you have a clue? Perhaps it's because you aren't driving a ghetto-hoopty ride with one headlight, invalid plates and music jacked up do window rattling volume at all hours? Maybe you aren't howling gibberish, shoving shoppers, snatching iPhones on Michigan Avenue? Maybe you aren't hanging out on the corner at all hours, holding an entire neighborhood hostage with your drug sales, threatening, beating, burning the houses of those who complain? Or maybe, just maybe, you aren't firing weapons at someone who "dissed" you over a rap song, killing the rival dealer or executing 9-year-old kids for who their relative are to the tune of 450 murders and 2,800 wounded.

Or this horseshit?
  • He addressed how the Independent Police Review Authority had been created in 2007 only to "ask why, out of the hundreds of police shootings in the last eight years, only a handful of them have led to any charges?"
Has Rahm seen the recent Washington Post study that found 95% of police involved shootings nationwide are fully legal and justified? There is no "epidemic," by any stretch of the imagination. But that isn't stopping the witch hunt.

Or this?
  • Emanuel again came close to addressing racial profiling a few minutes later, when he said police officers and community members alike should learn how to "see past their roles, to their souls" when interacting on the streets.

"The officer can see dreadlocks and tattoos," he said, "or a student and an artist."
A lot has changed since we went through the Academy, especially if Officers are taught how to see souls. We are a reactionary job - how the encounter goes is determined by the subject's behavior, 99.9 times out of 100, plain and simple. And the last time we saw an "artist" on video, he was punching a Chicago Police Officer in the head and getting charges dropped by the State.

We don't know how many way to say it, but you have been abandoned by the City. Rahm and the Machine will sacrifice you on the altar of political correctness and not lose a wink of sleep over it. Where does that leave you? Your family? Your kids? Back living with your in-laws while everything you worked for is destroyed for a political game? And when you get out from under, you're doing what? Something that doesn't have a stringent background check we suppose.

The criminal element has won. Self initiated police work is a fool's errand. Every citizen contact you make is immediately suspected of racist undertones. Every observation you make, the ones that make the back of your neck prickle, is subject to review by local, state, federal, IPRA, politician, reverend, lawyer oversight. Every piece of paper you are required to fill out is there to hang you, regardless of what the bosses are tell you.

As SCC has stated in the past, who are you going to believe? Some boss who tells you to go out and get the numbers so they look good? Some old retired fart like us who survived nearly three decades in a rough and tumble era of policing? Or your own damn eyes?

Wake up.

They want Rahm to resign. They want Anita to resign.

Maybe not for the reasons I would be pointing to, but incompetence is FINALLY being spotlighted by the people. They are finally waking up.

They should also be demanding the City Council be shrunk to 25 rubber-stamp people. After all, they have just as much blame as Rahm as all this has happened on THEIR watch as well.

As for coming down and spending some money on North Michigan, we'll pass.

If you weren't before, you damn well better be after today. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, stop doing anything. Look at the numbers in NYC after that mayor's inconceivable comments got two officers murdered. We can do it here too. STICK TOGETHER. That goes for all you VRI guys too. Let them have the dept. they want. Give a report. Back each other up. And don't do any proactive anything. Make "being fetal" seem aggressive. Be dormant. Anyone who creates a contact card in the post-McCarthy era we are now in, should have their heads examined. Get a number for positive community inter-action?! Are you fucking kidding me? I didn't do this before he left. Stop doing it now. The brass says let them protest and not do anything about it?! Ok, fine. They grabbed a couple of protestors today and then cut them loose after 15 minutes. Why? They stormed Macy's today. Zero arrests. Let the politicos like 9.5 and the alderfucks pay the price. Everyone please lay back and let it play out. It's not worth your job, pension or liberty.

FUCK YOU RAHM pretty much sums it up.

The digitally-challenged rat has found himself painted into a corner and is scrambling to save his own worthless hide. Back pedaling like a motherfucker. Kissing the Catered-To-Constituency's ass like there ain't no tomorrow. Pandering to the savages that he kept in dark long enough to grab their vote for a second term.

Tiny Dancer's theatrics from yesterday's meeting should be mandatory viewing for everybody on this job. Anyone that still feels like being proactive after watching that needs their fucking head examined. It's bad enough when our mayor and elected officials want to hang us, but when they actively work to turn the public against us - and a particularly violent segment of the public that has generational hate for authority - it's time to lay down.

The fact that we are ordered to let these animals run wild during protests without repercussions such as arrest only enables and emboldens them. The men and women on the front lines will have to deal with this sense of invincibility for God knows how long. Don't forget: the savages motherfucking you at these protests are going to be the same savages calling you for their Baby Mama Drama, stabbing at the family BBQ or when Pookie doesn't want to get dressed for school. Respond and give them the service that they truly deserve. You'll know who they are within a few seconds of arriving as they'll immediately set the tone. Do not go out of your way or even entertain the thought of giving these assholes your best efforts - save that for the few legitimate folks that really need us. The rest can wallow in the shit that they and they alone created as you go through the motions of feigned interest and sincerity in dude's Tragedy of the Day. "Here's your report number and the instructions on how to get a warrant and/or Order of Protection".

Nothing proactive.
No revenue generation.
Arrests on signed complaints only.
Back up POs that are 99.
Ride on all assists.
Go home in the same shape in which you arrived for your tour.

Oh yeah, it needs to be said again:

FUCK YOU, RAHM.

finally, you have said something that the fop refuses to say.. Slow down or stop!!! Now we need to get organized. If you see someone being proactive hammer them.. Don't allow scabs! If they are all over the radio then you call them out on the radio.. Put them out there. The pnl out there is tac teams, gang teams, sat teams etc. thy have too much of an ego to stop. They have to stop. If we collectively stop doing work for a few months what are they gonna do to you in your spot??? They are not going to dump a whole unit, tac office or sat team. They will have nobody to replace you with because the entire city will be laying down. Respond to your job, respond with another car if you want but only reactive police work. Go to a job when called to do so, and write paper or code accordingly. Give the service to citizens which is required by you... Anything which is above and beyond the job description needs to be forgotten. Don't be an individual, don't think you are better than everyone else. As of a month ago I considered myself a worker. Not anymore, I'm already on a beat car why should I bust my ass anymore than I have too now??? Forget it. Do your job, back eachother up and don't lock a single person up and no contact cards or parkers.. If you are worried about VRI forget it!!!! If you are gonna do it then do it right. Making arrests for VRI is playing into the cities hand, don't do it.

I absolutely agree. This national war on the police is being orchestrated by Obama. Keep in mind that there is no statute of limitations on civil rights violations (very broadly defined). Stop doing anything that isn't required of you and be very smart about doing what is required of you. Your freedom, families, and assets are more important than personal satisfaction, a court date, or anything that the bosses want. This is a witch hunt and any of you could be the next one to be smeared by the press, go to prison, and have your address and family information published. The city may burn, but we don't have to burn with it.

Amen. That sums it all up. I don't look down on workers like many of the dogs on this job do. I'm pro worker but cmon guys. No way you can even consider doing any proactive work right now. The bosses will tell you to work. Your "cool" sgts who are your friend will tell you it's ok to work we are in a unit or team and its expected that you work.. Don't fall for it. They all have an interest in you working and that is so they don't catch flack and they stay in their bosses good graces and keep a spot. This is not a time to worry about a spot or team. This is a time to be smart. Don't give in, don't be a pawn. Ghetto policing does absolutely nothing for anyone. Cool it for a while.

This is something I've wanted to get off my chest for a while, and this is just the post where it needs to be said.

Ever since the Baltimore riots, you guys have been trying to get officers here to scale back on doing work. Hell, it may have been as far back as when NYPD caused a stir turning their backs on their mayor. Doesn't really matter when it started though, to be honest. Sometimes the suggestion is subliminal, sometimes it's sarcastic and witty, and sometimes it's plain ol' blatant. Dating back to the NYPD incident, which was about a year ago, there has yet to be a chicago police officer to be "thrown under the bus". Let me guess, Dante Servin? Jason Van Dyke? Garry? Nothing about their situations say "you're going to take this deep fuckin' and your gonna like it". None of them were thrown under the bus for doing their job -- well doing their job correctly. Maybe the kid who was caught on camera claiming Mike Brown "deserved it", but he wasn't "thrown under the bus". Whether it was true or false in your opinion, my opinion, her fact or their fact, he said something that would get anyone disciplined now, 10 years ago, or even 30 years ago. He took his time and hopefully learned to shut his mouth. Hell, the Ronald Johnson video that was just released could have easily got the officer involved sharing a court date with Van Dyke. Did you see a gun? I, in my honest opinion, didnt. Nobody physically can due to the conditions on the video.

Nothing in the past nearly year and a half has shown me doing my job will get me canned, doing my job the right way that is. I'm not here to tell someone else "hey, continue working hard, everything will be OK", because who knows, maybe eventually something will happen to change my view. But I'm also not going to tell the next guy/gal to not do their job. Subliminally, sarcastically, or blatantly.

And for fucks sake, to the guy on camera claiming Rahm covered up the Laquan McDonald shooting video, stop talking to people with cameras. This isn't some 6'4 300 pound deceased suspect you're speaking ill of, this is a man who will do everything to you that will make me take back everything I wrote above.

From here on out, never get out of your car and engage! Why the fuck would you!? Let them go! Who gives a fuck? They are not a threat to your family. Move along. You saw nothing. Rahm and the Machine will sacrifice you on the altar of political correctness and not lose a wink of sleep over it.
----------------
In addition, they will be sure to make you a worldwide headline to support their position that they are 'reforming' the CPD.

You will be hung from the highest tree in the town square for all to see.

Shots fired calls? Don't race there, clean up the aftermath unless the shooting is on the home front. Ghetto rats say they can take care of business--let them.

Nobody ever went to jail for getting to a job too slowly--just don't stop at White Castle on the way. You'll avoid lawsuits from high-speed accidents and/or chases and risk of injury flying to calls. That extra time responding could be the difference between your freedom and jail.

There isn't a bus big enough for what Rahm has set in motion. We're talkin' Mack truck(s) now.

CPD has clearly become the scapegoat and will be part of the daily news cycle for the next year.

Plain and simple language coming so put your thinking cap on... You learned about inequality from a book. I was raised to be right and fair. I am not an expert in treating people fair because of a mandated training. I am that way because I can separate good from bad in an instant regardless of ethnic background. I made this city safe for 29 years. 4 hours of task force mandated training will not teach me squat. I am fair and balanced. A well rehearsed speech that didn't go very well. Rahm, you are no actor and your crying scene was pathetic. To quote the Colonel, you looked like a pussy. You looked weak hiding behind your 'police are the problem' excuse. You did not look like a leader.

To the decent men and women in the City, you have nothing to worry about. The men and women in Blue will still be there to help. If I lived in the ghetto, I would be worried. While we all know that this is the vocal minority and most are good people, the good people are not coming forth with their support. Response will be slow and help will be sluggish.

We are in self preservation mode after that speech. We have families to support.

Rahm could have ordered to have that video tape released anytime before election , it was the city trying to quiet up that independent reporter, it wasn't McCarthy . Something stinks.
Has the city bought off the black activists , it's been done before Cease fire was given millions of dollars , no bookkeeping on how ,where money was spent . Jesus Garcia was right , a forensic audit of Chicago 's budgets since Rahman took office must happen ,Now .

Expanding a little here --

blm is reading here, some shrill thing was allowed on the radio, "Aw yaw th'ow my son under the bus, we gon' th'ow aw yaw up under the bus too." Like a knife in the ear. Still scratching her G.L. ticket. Crowd roars in response.

News radio sez "Crowd was very peaceful," then tells us a commander had his radio and phone snatched away "but got it back" and tells us about "crowd charges a line of bicycle cops." Later heard "Crowd was out of control," went bolting up alley.

Very squeamish about arrests. "One protester was briefly detained but the crowd chanted for his return and got him back." This bunch has more and more been given the idea that they are untouchable.

...which only makes them bolder. They can slug coppers and be released "for the good of the city."

Why send the police at all? Let the mob march through the Board of Trade, the Cardinal's Residence, the City Club, anywhere wind and whim takes them.

As someone here said, "100 prominent business leaders would quick give Rahm a new opinion to use."

...and since new policy seems to be give up the streets and back up the line, back it off, mob hands-on and zero-distance from police, people standing with their face an inch away from the officers and screaming, FOP should demand that all officers on blm crowd control be equipped with proper riot helmets with full face shields and N95 disposable masks. Serious health hazard.

...and earplugs. All the "underprivileged" and "disenfranchised" have a bullhorn with fresh batteries, right in your face. Hearing damage.

Great weather, and going to be more s__t today. Crowd "brushes off" Rahm's apologies, demands his resignation. Mob doesn't even trust Loretta Lynch, signs reading "STOP DOJ FEDERAL COVERUP."

STOP PANDERING TO THE INSATIABLE.

You could put 100% "GIVE-THEM-ROOM-TO-DESTROY" GOVERNMENT in this city, in this state, in this country, and it would still not be enough.

Oh, uh, gee. As they say today, "Sorry not sorry."

Think I just heard someone on the radio complaining that "Safe Passage" "forces our children to take a longer and more dangerous route to school."

Insatiable.

They will still do contact cards, pisser arrest, selling loose cigarette arrests, dime bag arrest, movers, Parker's, foot chases, work VRI, CTA, and Housing. They will tell you that they don't give a fuck what you think or say, you arent paying their bills. Just remember there are guys on the van dyke shooting that were responding to back up the assigned paper car, some were just exiting thier vehicles when the shooting occurred and people want them charged or fired. Do any of you want to lose you job, freedom, or life on any of the above cited because something went wrong on a arrest some asshole is doing for court or VRI? No one is saying to lay down on your radio calls or back each other up, but now is not the time to be proactive. To these officers who continue to be proactive and work special employment when you step on your dick don't expect a fund raiser! Stay fetal my friends

12/10/2015 01:05:00 AM

There is no Macy's. That, sir, is Marshall Field's And Company, and always will be -- even if someone left the gate open and all the bipeds charged in motherf__ing everybody and knocking s__t over with signs and breaking things, and undoubtedly a few "counter discounts" as well.

"I got me Chanel!"

Good. Sprinkle it around the crib, maybe the roaches won't like it. On the other hand, as Hillary would say, "How could it possibly matter anymore?"

I have seen this before in there, whole plate-glass displays crashing to the floor, astonishing what one nine-year-old can do all by himself -- this was just on a bigger scale.

Keep it up. They finally gave up and dynamited the magnificent J.L. Hudson store in Detroit.

"...the immense reality of the event sobered all who viewed it. An emptiness followed and the guilt of our cheers weighed upon us.

"The choking clouds dissipated and a ghastly scene was revealed. An inch of dust covered everything for blocks around and there, in the midst of it all, lay the smoldering and shattered heart of 20th Century downtown Detroit."

http://www.detroityes.com/downtown/01implode.php

We are well along the path here.

Keep moving east as they crowd in on you, Rahm. When your feet feel cold and wet, you're standing in the lake.

OH! Glad to hear that blm took suggestions posted here to demonstrate at the Mayor's home. This should be a scream. Of course, no one will be there except the detail to protect Rahm's place-markers -- the "expensive light fixtures" and the "wedding dress in the attic" and the "GOLAN MOVERS" boxes in the basement.

Keep that phone number handy, Rahm. THEY ARE AFTER YOU NOW.

Well said, not a cop and I second most of that. In spite of the conference yesterday what has really happened to police that obviously skirt the rules? Hide files? Stay on the job, get a promotion. Lie on reports? Pick up donuts on the way back. I get the job is difficult but damn, just do not lie on reports. As a citizen I saw the Ronald Johnson video and that one there I am on the cops side. Sorry for your loss but your son was about to perform mayhem in the fucking streets. We asked him to stop instead he runs out of the car with a weapon. You forfeit rights when you do that bullshit. Kids carjacking or caught in someone's home. Same fucking deal. And to really think most people in the black community engage in criminal behavior is incorrect. I know many of you live in Beverly and MT Greenwood but black people work. And work fucking hard. It would be nice to get several of these cushy Water Management gigs for six figures and sit on our ass all day but hey clout only goes so far. I wish you guy luck. The bad cops need to pay. That is all that is needed.

In every district and on every watch, there have always been so-called dogs. They never got any beefs since they were never involved in anything. They also made the same pay as everyone else. Until the political winds change, it's time to emulate them. If a pro-police administration ever takes over, that can change. It may be a hard pill to swallow for conscientious police officers. You have to come to the realization that the administration is trying to scapegoat police officers for political gain. Your good deeds will be punished.

Here's alternative. I was on vacation and met a PO who works in a municipality in the south. He said they only arrest people who are an immediate threat. For all other incidents all parties involved are given a police report to fill out, including the narrative. All the reports are given to the state's attorney's office. If the state thinks an arrest should be made they issue a warrant and the county sherif picks up the offender. I'm good with that, put all the pressure on the state to make a descion.

Mayor Tutu is very close to having an psychological meltdown. Even his psychopathic megalomania mind recognizes that he has been thrown in front of a speeding train. The heavyweights in the Democrat Party want nothing to do with him.Madigan,Clinton and Obama. Obama gave the DOJ the Ok to investigate the CPD,no matter what the political damage to Rahm. He is radioactive poison. Karma finally caught up to the Little Prick Jagoff.

CEASE AND DESIST - From a retired PO. Who no longer lives in Chicago.

Never chase!

Avoid writing tickets! It is your option. (Unless you pull over Gary (Gare,Shitfuck, McStreetlight)

Take your time.

Do NOT trust your Sgts. You know the ones I'm talking about.

Understand the proper time legally to do a contact card. (not because a Sgt tells you to)

Above all else, SMILE

I am retired and have been saying the same thing, but you SCC say it much more emphatically, please if you care about your family, financial security, your freedom, don't do anything. SCC is right Emmanuel has been throwing people under the bus left and right since the day before Thanksgiving.Yesterday he threw the entire PD under the bus. Circumstances are such that given the nature of the job you may fall into crap, don't increase the odds of that by doing self generated work.

I hear where you're coming from, SCC Retired, but there is a gray area of this situation that many of us can plainly see. Please don't view this situation at hand entirely only in a black or white context. I'm not saying to be proactive, but don't assume there's absolutely no way to gain any ground by simply buckling down and sticking to the basics. The big picture will not be affected by TD 9.5 remaining in office or resigning from office. It is of no matter. The pendulum is way to the left and TD 9.5's title is of no consequence.

My heart goes out to the CPD. The city and state have long been breeding grounds for corruption, and people turn a blind eye as long as the garbage is picked up and snow taken off the streets. There are things that need to be straightened out. We need to show politicians that government should be working for us and not the campaign contributing developers and businessmen they cater to. I'm all for fixing a broken system, but the cops are not broken. They put their lives on the line for us and deserve better. Also, stop letting those whiny, protesting brats act like they're above law. If they punch a cop, storm a store or disrupt traffic, arrest them and let them finish their tantrums in a holding cell. They should be used to time outs.

From the civilian perspective: I wish you brave officers could organize a blue flu. I know there are union rules against it. But there must be ways around the wording of that regulation whereby all of you who could stay home, do stay home; and those of you who must work--work at the slowest possible pace, doing the absolute minimum. One week of that and the city might just come to appreciate the Chicago Police.

it is really sad the CRAP that the coppers working downtown have to take from these protestors just because the Mayor has scared the SHIT out of the Command Staff, he is so frightened of these dogs that he will throw the CPD to the wolves. There is a clear distinct attitude out there that White cops don't give black people a fair shake, and that black cops protect them and they would be much safer, Well I say Bullshit to that, black officers are much less tolerant then white cops, and while I certainly don't want this writing to sound racists, let the black communities see if an all black DISTRICT with all black cops treats them better, none of these protestors say a word when a Black cop has to shoot a black offender, I say Offender because no cop is shooting a citizen not engage in illegal activity. Officers on this protestor detail you are all to be commended for using restraint, but let them do what they want and we will all suffer.

Well, silent majority, if you don't start getting vocal, you're going to lose a bunch of good men and women in blue! They can see the writing on the wall and they're not hearing anything from the "silent majority", you had better speak up and be loud!
If you're going to live in a "diversity" infected area, you will support your police or move to Montana.

Yo, you either are a TROLL, or the biggest IDIOT on the department. If you think this way, GTFOH. Now go back to your mommies basement and jerk off to your online porn.

Watching live shots of protesters shutting down major streets in downtown Chicago demanding that Mayor Emanuel resign makes me shake my head in disbelief. A majority of these same people are the ones who voted him in not once but twice. They also voted in Rham's rubber stamp city council, some of whom have been in office for decades.

What did they expect when they voted in a thugocracy? The lesson here is that votes have consequences.

Where is the outrage for battery on an officer being ok? The silent jagoff lamon reccord was released for it yesterday at Dearborn/Washington. The acting supt. yelled grab him from his segway and reccord took off running into daley plaza. He attempted to jump the barricade surrounding the winter fest there and came up shot. Down on his ass barricade and all. Cuffed and ushered to a wagon in front of the county bldg. (69 w. Washington, Dearborn side) it was soon surrounded by protesters chanting his release. They wouldn't budge. Reccord was kicking the inside as the brass stood by the door discussing. An older white protester (organizer or some shit) and an unidentified black guy wearing a suit became part of this discussion among the brass and we're then allowed in the wagon to talk with reccord. I believe this black guy with the tie ( seen in tribune protest coverage photo #39. It's free) was someone with the city but from what I can tell, he ordered the release. Trumped the acting supt.'s order? It seemed to be decided to get the protesters moving again. It's a fucking shame and a slap in the face to every officer. There should be 0 tolerance for battery to an officer no matter what circumstances! Fuck this city, county, and state!

Why is the media so determined to destroy the police department. The problem is not the police shooting people it is citizens killing each other. Where is the outrage about the body count of drug, gang and domestic related homicides I do not see any.

When the police brought 3000 members and family downtown to protest the lack of a contract the media mostly ignores it. Now less than 200 hundred people demonstrating is earth shattering news which demands most of the nightly news coverage

The only reason anyone can sleep safe in their beds at night is because the police keep the thugs at bay. The world is not a politically correct place thugs do not respond to kind and gentle words they view that as weakness.

The mayor would lead us down the path of Baltimore making apologies for things that need none. Where is the outrage that a 17 year old is high on PCP and attacking police, none the police in the view of the mayor are expendable. Where is the outrage and demonstrations that 9 year old child is murdered.

Until the media and the public come to realize that the police are the solution not the problem the it should be no respect no service

To the idiot that wrote this (beginning part only):

"This is something I've wanted to get off my chest for a while, and this is just the post where it needs to be said..."

You're and absolute fool and either not a cop or some exceptionally person who has only worked the desk in a nice area their whole career.

This has bothered me for a long time as well. I grew up in Chicago, went to Chicago public high school that was predominately project bus-ins. I was subjected to more overt racist that whitey in their nice universities, government, press and public would ever admit occurs. Nearly every one of the hundreds of shooting scenes I've been to people are yelling and acting in a threatening manner of not outright saying the police "finna get kilt," "do yo job!," etc. Meanwhile, they'll never give you info even in secret. They know who did it, they hear it all. They're the cowards and liars.

The problem is people like you. You come from privilege and want to tell Chicago cops that what they see is not what they've seen, what they hear is not what they've heard. With only seven years on I can say I am done. I'm in great shape, I'm intelligent, made some really good arrests and had a reputation for it. I've been sued, had complaints and have been portrayed time and time again as the bad guy and dirty cop in court, every single time of which was a lie. When detailed down town I've had at least one white person make an ignorant comment to me that they surely would be too scared to say to a black thug in the ghetto.

You're a cop, right?! Please, tell me how you talked a man on PCP into cuffs after he's been stabbing squad cars. I've seen a man on PCP nearly kick a squadrol door off the hinges with no type of agitation from POs. I recall as a kid, a dude on PCP in Chicago broke a pair of handcuffs, slashed his stomach open with the broke cuff and threw his organs at police. He lived and I thought "wow, I would've shot that guy." Certain things you don't forget, you coward. I will not lay my life down for people that hate me and don't appreciate me. I'll protect my family and will respond full out to police emergencies but nothing else.

This is but a taste of my experiences and what I have done for this country is represented fractionally by police work. How dare you tell me what instances were justified when you weren't there. I'm not the officer in any case you referenced but I'm not going to Monday morning quarterback it. I realize what only men and women who have been in it know; a bad decision is better than no decision and a decision is made by a myriad of stimuli, prompting a good soldier or cop to react in a way that they felt prudent in a fraction of a second. A coward like you need not worry about that though. How dare you judge and tell me to not worry and keep working. You are a coward, don't ever forget that. With seven years on, I don't see myself staying much longer. Let this city consume itself and I'll laugh when the scum beg for salvation, which doesn't come.

What is so puzzling about his speech is that the Superintendent that he fired, was the one person in the Dept whose policies were to foster respect to the "community." Officers were required to go through that police legitimacy training. Wasn't that all about respect? There is no epidemic of disrespect by police officers. Our training is not lacking. The mayor asks for a policy change but he just fired the person who implemented the policy change he says we now need. Ironic.

No sir, there is no such thing as a gray area anymore. If your actions fall on the gray area then fifty people can see it fifty different ways and your job and your freedom is on the line. I am a 53 year old white male. Where the fuck am I going to be employed if I lose this job? If am charged with an offense because I was doing my job and my actions fall on the gray area who will watch out for my family as I am sent away to jail? No thank you. I will do my job 100% by the book. Arrestee needs medical attention? Sure, no problem. An arrest is needed? Sure, sign the complaint and as long as I have complete probable cause no problem. finally, you have said something that the fop refuses to say..

Hey Rahm you are so out of touch with reality it's sickening.
When a police officer stops a person in a high crime area they do not have the benefit of knowing their criminal history. Anyone being stopped by the police knows that the police are authority figures, in that they have the power of arrest which preserves the peace and tranquility that should exist in all civilized societies and if they are not violating the law then they should realize they should have no fear of the police. The fact that they live in a high crime area and are not a criminal is unfortunate but a reality and the police have no idea if they are good or evil. Many of the good people in high crime areas have disdain for the police because they are victims of a police stop and feel like they are being targeted because of their race. That is the biggest lie ever told against the police. They are stopped because they live in an area where criminal activity is the norm and if they are the exception, who does not participate in criminal activity, then they should embrace the police stop knowing that the police only there to corral the devil that exist among them. The person being stopped has the advantage of knowing they are being stopped by the police who are trying to clean up their community but the police does not know if the person being stopped is an armed killer who would love to kill a police officer or a good person who just happens to live among a bunch of thugs or a good person who acts like a thug because it’s cool. It should be noted that many of the good people adopt the language, attitude, dress and disdain for the police that is practiced by the criminals. If you want to affect change and at least understand what a police officer experiences every day in the ghetto then you should do a ride along in the ghetto. We will give you a bullet proof vest and put you in a 2 man car. We will give you a gun, mace and a Taser to work a shift with us on the third watch in 011 or the 015 District. We got your back partner especially around buses. In this world you can’t please JJ, AS, FMP and the poet and their voting block while standing behind your police force. These people view the police (who do Gods work keeping the Devil at bay) as the devil. Your dilemma is deciding who the devil is and as a politician you can’t alienate any group even if they are the devil. That is why Chicago continues to lead the world in murders, including third world countries. You can’t have it both ways, you need to pick the group who you think is most God-like and support them in their fight against the devil. Until you do Chicago will continue in its pursuit of the lawless uncivilized societies that existed in the dark ages before law enforcement was enacted creating the perfect storm for terrorist both foreign and domestic to take over our cities and our entire country. God will beat the devil in the end you and all politicians now have to get off the fence and pick a side.

So NO ONE should be treated like a second class citizen, says Emanuel? That's real rich considering he treats the whole police department like second class citizens! If anyone treats the citizens here like crap, it is that shit for brains mayor. He made sure to give generous raises to all his staff once he was in office, while claiming how the rest of the city had to make budget cuts and raise fines because of "economic hardships". He refused to do anything toward making the pensions solvent, and wasted more tax money fighting a losing case in the IL supreme court. He then continued to waste millions on useless bike lanes, parks, depaul stadium, the gang infested, extortionist group who work under the guise of "community workers" call "cease fire", and dozens of countless pet projects that wasted tax dollars. He made sure that NO ONE would be given a break when driving past the numerous speed cameras and red light cameras, that is, except for himself and his caravan when they drove through them, in which case all tickets were NONSUITED! But the SECOND CLASS TAXPAYING CITIZENS must hand over $$$ for every one of those violations, unlike Rahm or the alderthieves who get excused. And what citizen, besides Rahm, enjoys a 24/7 detail of a dozen officers who watch, escort, and chauffeur his/her family, all paid for by the rest of the working citizens. So Rahm, looks to me like you are the one who acts, spends, and lives like he is above everyone else. You are the one who treats everyone here like second-class citizens asshole!!!!

Read these two lines several times.

A national war on the police is being orchestrated by Obama.

There is no statute of limitations on civil rights violations (very broadly defined).

A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS, TWO F*CKING YEARS on the job and I've come to the realization that I need to stop being proactive and say fuck it! I am done! These ignorant sad excuse for humans don't want us? Then fine by me I am not even from this shit hole city anyways. I still get paid the same and I preserve my body and mind. It's pathetic how I still see cops with the same time as me trying to live up to what their daddies used to be on the job. Some of them even look forward to their first CR as if its a badge of honor or something.

There is one thought that has entered my mind. I came on the job right out of the army in 1968. I worked inner city areas in one man cars, detective in area 4 homicide and spent many years on the south side. We worked hard, made a lot of arrests, lots of convictions. I saw lots of my fellow officers injured and killed. There is one thing that has been a constant, politics in the police department, politics that crushed souls. But, nothing has changed in all of these years in the black community. Store front churches run by reverends who do not live in the community but who are just there to pass the collection basket, corrupt alderman, easily influenced district commanders who take their marching orders from corrupt politicians, rigged promotional exams, alderman with their hands out, taverns and lounges that pay off and are able to operate illegally with a wink from the political class. I could go on. If I were still on the job, I would really slow down and do the minimum until I see how things shake out. The knives are being sharpened, blood is in the water and everyone is jumping on the band wagon to get a piece of the police. The police prosecution in Baltimore and that type of prosecutor is being called for here and backed by Preckwinkle. Imagine, you the cop failing to do something so simple as not putting a seat belt on an arrestee and being charged with manslaughter ? Who needs this? You might beat the case, but the stress and financial hurt will kill you . I can only imagine that crime will not go up substantially and many more young black males will pay the price and again it will be the fault of the police. I never thought I would say it, but if things continue I would back a police job action. MAybe it is time to strike back

Shut up an get enough time on to claim enough experience to know what you're talking about. You are not special or smart. Your mom and dad lied to you. You haven't figured out how to do this job correctly. You can get sued for anything and judges exist to rule on different interpretations of law and procedure. You are poorly informed and have no experience. The person who taught you police work in the academy wanted desperately to get off the street and will say anything the department told him to.

Prophecy realized: Ex-Gitmo detainee, UBL aide resurfaces on battlefield in Yemen'

Published December 10, 2015

"A hardened Al Qaeda fighter who served as Usama bin Laden's jack-of-all-trades before spending a decade at Guantanamo Bay made a military prosecutor's prophecy come true when he resurfaced on the field of battle in Yemen, where he is one of the terror group's top leaders.

"Ibrahim al-Qosi, a Sudanese native who once served as Usama bin Laden's cook, chauffeur and bookkeeper, appears in the latest video released this week by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), some three years after he was released from the U.S. military facility. The 55-year-old Al-Qosi is one of the Al Qaeda chapter's top men, according to the Foundation For Defense of Democracies' Long War Journal blog.

"One of the main reasons the United States was willing to return him to Sudan was the U.S. confidence in the government of Sudan’s program and its confidence that Mr. al-Qosi would not represent any kind of threat to the United States," his attorney, Paul Reichler, said in July, 2012, when Al-Qosi was freed. "If they had considered him a threat, they would not have released him.”

“Detainee is an admitted veteran jihadist with combat experience beginning in 1990 and it is assessed he would engage in hostilities against U.S. forces, if released.” - US military threat assessment

Wonderful. Just wonderful. This country is in safe, steady hands, that is for sure.

I have worked three decades on this job and have now entered my fourth. I have always been one of those guys who quietly dispised the lazy and those who have 'retired on duty'. Until now I have never been one to just handle the job. I have always been proactive and never hesitated stopping a car or a person whether or not I was working 99. Also, I have always tried my best to treat everyone in the appropriate manner. But, now I will not go out of my way unless it is for another copper or family. For me, I will stay a bit longer because I truly love this job, or at least what it once was,

This mayor, this city, this society has marked us all as racist, brutish, criminals and would deny us the protection of law. They decry the fact that we too are afforded that same Due Process which protects them. Let us give them that which they have screamed for the loudest; a police department that no longer impedes their actions. Do the minimum that your conscience will permit and no more. The cowardly politicians and the raucous crowds have called for havoc. Withdraw the thin blue line and let slip the dogs of war.

Will everyone make a copy of this SCC post and make sure that every police officer reads this. Share it with each other, discuss it when not being surveilled.

In mid career I go fired from department for pure political reasons (Didn't support the new elected boss - tried to remain neutral). 55 years old with only policing skills. Pretty frightning for guy with kids. What are you going to do, be a PI. Security guard? Your well planned life is ruined.

Chances you are not going to end up like I did, with a million dollar settlement, full retirement and a gold retirement badge.

Watched that speech threw up on myself, sickening cowardly move! This guy said about black teens "They are afraid of police when they are driving and stopped they have to place both hands on steering wheel!" then moron says "black kids cannot congregate on corners without fearing the police" wow! reality rahm that's the law, when we "clear corners" it is because someone has called or complained to your sheep your aldermen, who want this enforced!

To be clear mayor, since you said this and we work for the ceo of this city rahm, this is a "verbal order" correct rahm? So no more traffic stops of black kids, and if there is a call about gangs or groups congregating as police we have a "felling" something bad is ready to jump off, we just drive by,and maybe do some community policing give a thumbs up, yell out see you later we are going on break?

Where also is Gary? awfully quiet for a "boxer" why is he silenced? did rahm stuff him into a "quiet room" and order him not to speak until rahm pulls his puppet strings?

When will teh "bloodbath on 35th move forward exponentially?" I know a few castoffs here and there, but the real meat, will rahm eliminate so many outlandish do nothing gold star positions? will the kochmen crew who are putting papers in be brought to justice in federal court as they should be? this is like an episode of the old original batman series lets watch same bat time same bat channel!

Why were there medical "students" laying down at city hall for 16 minutes? how many are fully taxpayer paid for their schooling due to being minority? Now when coppers go to see doctor will we be discriminated against, because this skulls full of mush are anti-police? I give courtesy to doctors and nurses but no more, then again i don't stop any vehicles either have at it! Rant/off
