Don't forget Fred Rice. O'grady told people that he did not run the department, but Vrydoliak was the real superintendent. I just love all of this hypocrites jumping on the band wagon now with their selective outrage. Political control of the department has been going on before I was born, but honed to a fine edge under Daley. No one really cared about rigged promotions, political assignment, corrupt commanders, discharge/prosecution cases swept under the rug for the connected, felons released without charges by commanders, etc until now, when the liberal axe has been gored. The blacks are mad that they cannot have a black superintendent, and now they want a black prosecutor ( as if that will make things better), Precwinkle wants her girlfriend as the prosecutor because they believe blacks are unfairly locked up. Blacks want more black officers and commanders because they think they are better at policing ( better ask Baltimore and Detroit about that). Everything turns to race and everyone forgets about behavior.

When you take people who have no respect for property or human life and then hop them up on an illegal drug catch them doing an illegal act while armed with a deadly weapon, how do you think that encounter will go with the police? The difference is that those people who live on the northwest, southwest sides and downtown don't do anything illegal that causes a police response. If they are in a situation that causes a police response they obey and respect the authority of the police officers who are entrusted with enforcing the law. The copper was wounded could not fire his gun, lying between to park cars bleeding, she blocked the gunmen s view/path and told the nut job the cop got away saving his life. If these thugs really wanted to hurt us they could easily do a much better job. Feds were all over the Ferguson shooting of a fleeing felon that attempted to disarm a police officer within hours of shooting .
Why oh why did it take Feds 14 months to investigate this , a strong democratic voting city with connections , $5,000,000 didn't silence that independent reporter , this might bring down the machine .
He talks of disciplining police officers , body cameras , start with his body guard detail . We want his body guards protected from false accusations , again protestors take over the loop .

Anthony Napolitano, 41st Ward, ex CPD/CFD rebutted Rahms speech today, with a great speech supporting the Police. Touching on the fact that their is about 2800+ people shot each year in Chicago and nobody wants to talk about that. Naps is about our only friend out there and he is not afraid to speak up for the CPD. His dad and brother are or were coppers as was his uncle Tommy from 14.
Can we come together as a department and collectively DO NOTHING. Dean and the FOP should get their asses in front of a camera and tell the troops to lay down.

Well, he just might be. But, he is also a symptom of the problem that has plagued the department for decades ; promotions dictated by political clout. When quotas and race weighted exams were outlawed by the supreme court, the city dreamed up " merit" promotions after the Detroit police department. A totally rigged and corrupt system to promote who the political class wants. If you want a "merit" promotion system, then make it transparent and let everyone in on it. How can the city justify a exempt member nominating someone for a merit promotion when the person who was nominated never worked for the person nominating him/her ? Will this change after the feds are through raping the department? Don't bet on it. Remember the federal judge who approved this BS system said he does not care how the city promotes, only if the numbers are right.
Rahm, you will regret giving in to the protesting criminal element. You stabbed us in the back just like the teachers union did when they paid for bus loads of professional protesters demanding the heads of polo e officers in Ferguson and Baltimore. News radio sez "Crowd was very peaceful," then tells us a commander had his radio and phone snatched away "but got it back" and tells us about "crowd charges a line of bicycle cops."
Very squeamish about arrests. "One protester was briefly detained but the crowd chanted for his return and got him back." This bunch has more and more been given the idea that they are untouchable.
...which only makes them bolder. They can slug coppers and be released "for the good of the city."
Why send the police at all? Let the mob march through the Board of Trade, the Cardinal's Residence, the City Club, anywhere wind and whim takes them.

...and since new policy seems to be give up the streets and back up the line, back it off, mob hands-on and zero-distance from police, people standing with their face an inch away from the officers and screaming, FOP should demand that all officers on BLM crowd control be equipped with proper riot helmets with full face shields and N95 disposable masks. Serious health hazard.
I don't care if John is a nice guy. Nor do I feel sorry for him. He rose thru the ranks willingly. John obviously played along with the game, because if he didn't, he would not have made it this far. Now is is the head cheese and has direct communication with the head rat at city hall. Will John keep playing the game and be like the rest and only look out for himself? Or will he look out for the department below him and boldly tell the public what's really going on in Chicago with the politicians?

++FOP where are you , on the news crowd yelled for a person taken in custody for battery of a police officer to be released and the person was let go . That officer better make a case report as a battery victim.++
What I saw on TV was the commander was the victim and HE let offender go. This set a very dangerous president. FOP can't do what the victim doesn't want to do.

Protesters rushed the wagon he was in and wouldn't budge. This guy with the tie came along and went into the wagon. Next thing you know, poof he's released. It was a fucking joke!
