Anyone from the Saturation Team care to comment?
- The Lt from saturation sent an email telling the sat guys that they are not bringing in enough activity , that traffic doesn't count, and if they want to keep their spot they need to do street stops and bring in ISRs.
It sure looks like the Sat Team is under the gun to come up with a number, or if you prefer, a "quota," in order to keep their spot.
We will donate an additional $25 to the Police Chaplains this month in the name of any member of the Sat Team who forwards us this e-mail, complete with headings and names. We will delete the names in the "TO" section, but we make no promises regarding the name in the "FROM" return address section.

It's always been mostly the young po's doing saturation. Usually reverse seniority. They don't know any better. They think they have to go out there and impress the boss. They'll learn the hard way.
The email does exist. I've personally read it on another copper's phone, but s/he was too scared to forward it to me for fear of retaliation if it got out and could somehow be shown that they 'leaked' it.
Just more proof that the Bossholes running this circus are completely out of touch, never been the police and/or don't give a rat's ass about the guys and gals that are smart enough to have gone into Self-Preservation Mode.

The FOP should send out a press release that police are being given quotas and are threatened with job loss if they don't start stopping citizens and handing out tickets and making arrests.
If a boss sent an email like that, isn't that a violation of a whole bunch of rules? Didn't they just tag Denis for 'unprofessional emails'? Isn't a boss saying that a threat? I'd say that boss should be shaking in his boots.

I have something better than an email!!! How about a graph that the deputy sent to all the Sgt, criticizing arrests made. Telling the Sgt that the troops were not making the arrests he wanted.... Post where I can mail this piece of information!!!

I highly doubt a lietenant put that in an email. They likely had a meeting and gave some bullshit pep talk followed with "well, this is an activity-driven unit. If you don't perform, we'll find someone else that will." In explanation, we will force POs to continue to jeopordize life, limb and career for a chance to not answer calls? I don't get it. Sat is like uniformed tact.
I am willing to bet that there will be plenty of officers who will do just as the boss says. Just so they can keep their coveted saturated team spot. Truly pathetic. If you are not going to look out for yourself and your own family then you are pathetic.

R/O is not filling out this ISR voluntarily, but under duress. R/O was verbally ordered by Sgt/LT/Capt/Cmdr so and so that failure to conduct street stops and complete said ISR will result in loss of R/O's current assignment.
See how that flies!

This department is in a class of its own. How in the world does ANY police department or even business come out with new reports to be immediately implemented with specific guidelines to be followed or face separation or suspension without everybody being properly trained . We have been set up to FAIL . It's down right moronic to implement new protocol before proper training the individuals who must follow the strict guidelines of the ISR....
Why would anyone want to work on a sat team nowadays?
No matter what you think the benefit is, you still work at the same rate of pay.

Sgts came into rollcall and tried to coax us into writing isr's. Just make sure you say this or that and "you won't get in trouble". How about I write nothing. I'm like a uber, I only go where I'm called.

Any white shirt who tell you any different does not have your best interests at heart only his own.

Dear Area Sat Police Officers,
I'm a Sgt in a very busy Area South district. On a daily basis, there is under 10 ISR's generated for the whole district including the tact team. Nobody is doing them. Maybe he will dump you, but the Lt will have a hard time finding people to generate ISR's in mass. Guess he will have to find another way to make Commander then jeopardizing your livelihood. Fuck him.

True #1 is you, the most important person is you without you the family and everything else does not matter! Protecting you is done by you, the bosses are jokes, guarantee they will not be there after your the next "media darling" they will give statements "I never said to do that!" Been there how about this reality as you enter cold courtroom and you take the defendants seat and are sworn in then the big question "state your assets and liabilities" you understand this is real, and listening to crazy bosses makes it real real dumb!

Remember that part about following LAWFULL ORDERS?
You put that shit on an ISR, it's still on YOU, not your Sgt or Lt or Capt... YOU.
Someone "ordering" you to just go out and randomly violate peoples Civil Rights for the sake of numbers is not exactly "Lawful".
You know (hopefully) how to articulate "Reasonable Suspicion" in such as manner as to be comfortable that your ISR will stand up in a Civil Suit, then YOU do your ISR's when YOU NEED TO, not when some "Boss" who's looking for his/her next promotion off of YOUR work wants them!

Hey, something I heard through the grapevine.......a couple of tact guys from 009 were sent to ERPS as punishment by IPRA for the excessive number of CR #'s they have in the recent past, NONE of which were sustained! I don't know if they were stripped, but still......ghetto rats get bulls&%t CR#'s all the time and back off on pushing it....now this counts against you in an extremely negative way, with no real way to fight it?

Ok officer I will give you the 10 hour schedule in our specialized unit here. Your hours will be 2000 to 0630 and all you have to do is get 4 ISR's during your tour. What they don't tell you is they just imposed a quota and you are the tool that is executing the quota. When your ISR's find their way to Federal Court your supervisors will deny any such quotas exist leaving you to justify your actions on your own. Good Luck if you decide those 10 hour days and shit hours are really worth jeopardizing your assets,your job, your reputation, your family and your freedom. Many supervisors careers were made by sacrificing those below them who were willing to do what a supervisor was not. Real leaders earn respect because they lead by example. Many of our leaders have never made a felony arrest so what kind of example could you possibly be following?
Anyone working VRI is complying with a quota, enabling the city to keep from hiring the proper amount of officers needed to police this city and cutting their own throats in regard to their pension. They will be the first to start screaming when they realize they might not be able to collect their pension. Hope you are not spending any of that VRI money and banking it. It will probably get you through the first few years of retirement and then you'll have to start looking for a job.

Do a to-from for hostlie work environment. It is important to get as many officers involved as possible. Notify fop and speak with their attorney. Document everything. Stay fetal.
First of all the saturation teams should be a 90 day detail, not a specialized unit where you do 20 years on. You want to be in Saturation and get numbers because you feel that it's going to get you promoted. Hmmm think again. Only the house mouse will get that meritorious promotion. Not you because your activity is great!
