BGA Sues CPD Again

  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel has said he supports a new policy requiring that videos of fatal shootings by Chicago police be publicly released relatively soon after the incidents.

But the Emanuel administration is stonewalling a Better Government Association request for footage from the past five years, so the BGA is suing the Chicago Police Department – again.

Under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act – the state law known as FOIA that guarantees public access to public records within no more than 10 business days – the BGA asked the police department for copies of records and videos of officer-involved fatal shootings since 2011.
We don't know if Andy Shaw and the BGTA have been watching too many episodes of "COPS," but most police shootings in Chicago don't happen in front of a CPD camera. Part of the reason is traffic stops are way down from years past. But the other part is most shootings are dynamic situations that occurred away from the car - domestic calls, gun calls, foot chases, etc.

Everyone knew that the McDonald tape existed. That's why it was the subject of lawsuits and motions and suppressed by Rahm. We can't think of any other recent shooting that would have any similar footage. Most shooting "footage" would probably just be video of cars racing to the scene of a shooting. If that's the bulk of it, by all means, send it over to the BGA and have them watch it for hours. Lord knows there isn't any other political hanky-panky going on that might actually be located and brought to the attention of tax payers so they can vote some of these thieves out of office. Or the feds so they can indict some of the corrupt politicos.

Better to pick on the police for possible misconduct than pick on city hall and the thievery going on there, never mind about how votes are cast, or what pol is employing what member of another pol, or sits on what foundation and is paid a hefty sum.

Did the BGA think about the person shot's right in all of this? What if the person who gets shot doesn't want a video being showed of him/her getting shot because of privacy? If I were to get shot, I wouldn't want it being showed to the public so my family would have to watch it on the news and what if a family member out of state comes home from work, turns on the tv and sees a video of me getting shot? Imagine watching a family member's shooting death on tv. It would be traumatizing.

Rahm will just feed more bullshit to the public next election and they'll vote for him again. No real candidate will oppose him again. Chicago will lose, again. Retire and move. Only real solution.

Skip the legal system. Conduct the "trial" on Instagram or something, and it'll be over in five minutes. Verdict rendered according to number of negative/positive comments received.

Don't forget to include "selfies" of obligatory bloody beaten black man, dog kissing baby, "movie star's" great big behind. That is how it's done today.

Got my "carrot stick hack to cure cancer?" OK. Done.

Fuck the BGA. They're so full of shit. They don't write these articles and file these lawsuits because they want better government, they do it so they can generate fundraising and pad their six figure salaries. Funny how they think public employee salaries should be readily available online but not their own salaries. Aren't they accountable to the people they ask for money from in the same way they say public employees are accountable to taxpayers?
On this issue, they twist facts and context to suit them. Videos and records don't have to be turned over if they're part of certain types of investigations. They know this, but it's a publicity stunt for them.
It's all bullshit.

Look a the "real tactical police" full turtle gear, face shields, face mask skull caps no badge numbers names showing, just "police" on clothing, if we looked like that during Trump visit we would not even have to do anything the scum thugs would of quickly went home to momma. If they did not leave a simple "boo" would scare them! Also look a the weapons exposed and the long batons they are the police doing their jobs and not about to take any bull*hit from the thug crowd. Look at our leaders we arrived looking like we are dressed for a prom date, no safeties for us the weak leaders we have pathetic!

The City is making them file lawsuits to eat up the BGA's cash on hand.
Rahm-bellina is a ruthless prick and will make even the simplest request mortal combat.

When the media prick recieve the emails they will be blackout and then lead to another lawsuit.

Rahm has the unlimited funds of the City to back his play and countless lawfirms.

Just a reminder, who's in charge of FOIA? Two of the department's worst "yes" men, merit Sgt Landon Wade and incompetent General Counsel Ralph Price. Also acting as pupet master behind the scenes is the Chief of Staff Jim Rousell. They go out of their way to talk themselves into lawsuits. The house of cards is falling down.

Hopefully Wade will get that merit promotion to Lt he's been holding out for before the new Supt comes in. The other two will retired soon and Wade will be left holding the bag.

Corruption/transparency and accountability and efficiency? Why seems that the good democratic voters of Cook County only care about it when it comes to the police. That is why they keep electing the same county board members, the same alderman and the same county officials, namely Dorthy Brown .

OT, but it's only a matter of time before the department is sued for violating citizens' right to privacy. Personally identifiable information that is collected, ostensibly for alleviating suspicions during terry stops, is being entered into a database and then shared with civilians (ACLU) for purposes that are not related to the investigation or any other legitimate law enforcement purpose. This is an egregious violation of the citizens' trust and must be challenged in court.

Rahm and the Bronx Bulldog, need to release ALL of the e-mails that were exchanged following the McDonald Shooting, between City Hall and the Police Department. In the interest of Full Disclosure, those e-mails are being pursued by the Tribune, and when they are recovered, they will be the last nail in Rahm's Political Coffin. Rahm saying that he wants prompt release of shooting videos reminds us of when his boss explained that a BJ was not actual sex!

Then the BGA will complain about all the traffic laws being broken on the way to the scene.

It's all part of the "smoke & mirrors" strategy that politicians like to use. As long as they create enough media uproar, the public will never bother thinking of the politicians and their criminal activity, which is usually off camera and cloaked. By placing police officers in the limelight on a continuous basis, there will always be something for the citizenry to question- and keep the attention away from the man behind the curtain.

The BGA how about investigating the political criminals? Look at this barry takes not 1 but 2 fuel guzzling air force 1 planes, 1 for him and the other for family sightseeing!

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/mar/24/obama-takes-two-air-force-one-planes-argentina/

Nothing like spending money that is not yours, kind of like his friend rahm spending billions then crying poor! Hey mayor rahm before your start another "gimme that envelope" project you have to pay your bills first like fully fund police pension correct? I tried your method today at Jewel food store, bought a steak took it to counter paid for everything else, then said I would pay separately for the steak, gave they $1.00 and they told me I could not take until i paid in full $20.22! So mayor how do you spend money we don't have? Bike trails, bike lanes, depaul, hotels and the trillions vanish! Rahm the "treasure hunter" come on turn over another rock, you obviously know where all the cash is and pay the pension soon like today!

Let's see, they have pretty much said any time a cop shoots they will push for a trial and now they want to poison the jury pool. That seems fair.
