Here's a Dumb Idea (UPDATE)

Hopefully, this is just a "demo" model and not something being actually sold:

That is a Glock Model 41 disguised as a Nintendo system gun. We used one like 20 years ago to play "Duck Hunt."

UPDATE: Another look - the Glock and the Nintendo:

Guess this means stupid people with these guns are just going to get shot and killed. Knowing this, I'm not going to stop and differentiate between real and play. Bottom line is that I am going home at the end of the tour.

Looks like the Nintendo logos are photoshopped to me... check out the visible pixelization around the wording. Recoloring is easy too...

But yeah, that's a dumb idea all the way around...

Awwwww Shiiiiit!

Just like some ten years back when the shit heads started having REAL
guns painted up like toys...

How come the "jeaniouses" at 3510 aren't rolling out the
infamous "Table O' Gats" for the media and the public to
see some of these "works of art" that Policemen are confronted with?

Or some public service announcements?

"Don't go wavin'/pointin' shit at da Po-leece
and you won't get your ass deadened?"

Blink and you're just a dead m/fer in the dark...

We had some civilian acquaintances who disbelieved
about cell phone guns until we showed them.

And there was still, "But you Cops..."

"Well, it was nice knowing you..."

Scary shit out there and people think
Policemen have no good reason to be "touchy."

"But don't they train you guys (how to die) in the academy?"

"There's something wrong if you Cops are THAT paranoid!"

It's called "Abundance of Caution," you clueless little children.

Is that in a gun shop in Indianapolis? If so I've been in that place a bunch, they always have goofy one of guns to draw attention (pink AKs, etc.). They bring them to the Indy1500 gun show too.

That's a demo gun at the gun shop used to demo the new sights. Look at the breakdown of the gun on the display pad underneath and the pictures on the wall behind it.

Here's the link to the side-by-side comparison of the actual NES gun. Pretty good replication imo.

Point any gun at me, I'm putting rounds down range.

But, in today's environment I choose to stay fetal and avoid the aggressive policing that puts one in a possible shooting situation.

This mock contraption hasn't hit the ghettos yet, but ever since they allowed Pink pistols it's only a matter of time.
It's your ass that will be in the DOJ/ACLU wringer when you shoot at the urban super-predator that points it you.

If you were using that 20 years ago, you grew up poor. N64 was more like 20 years ago. Or at least Sega. Duck Hunt is straight up 1985 Marty McFly.

Pointing either one at a Policeman will get you killed.

Tried by 12?

Carried by 6?

suicide pact.

I was just in a gun store in Florida. That carry pink cameo handguns and long guns. Good think I am retired. I someone had been carrying one of those back in the day I would have been laughing too hard to defend myself. Be careful. This things pink or not are real and deadly.

You're missing the point you fucking rookie. It's not about whether this is cool or not. It's about making coppers hesitate or second guess pulling the trigger putting themselves in more harm's way. Fuck the gossip and pull your head from out your ass.

There are other guns set up to look like bright yellow electric drills, etc.

This is incredibly stupid and dangerous and is going to get someone killed -- either an assailant or an officer who hesitates trying to figure out what we got here.

I'd go at it this way -- have companies like Black and Decker, Nintendo, etc. given their permission for their trademarks to be used on these weapons?

Whole sh__tload of lawsuits. Which I don't like the idea of, but in this case...

That is a competition handgun for people who participate in action shooting.
These people spend thousands of dollars on this kind of stuff and are probably among the most law abiding people on the planet.
Think NHRA drag racing on a track and not street racers or gang bangers.

Non-firing replica guns are a real problem. It ain't like the old days when we had really great toy guns and sense enough not to threaten anyone with them.

Great blog. I enjoyed reading very much.
