Um, What Now?

  • The handgun used to shoot three Chicago Police officers last week on the West Side was owned by a former Chicago cop who recently worked for the Lake County sheriff’s office, law enforcement sources said Thursday.

Lamar Harris, 29, a convicted felon, shot and wounded the three Chicago officers on March 14 during a narcotics investigation. Harris was killed when at least one of the officers returned fire. Chicago detectives have been investigating the ownership history of the gun Harris used.
And the report further says that the officer may have worked in Harrison? This is beyond a "hairball" and rapidly approaching "clusterfuck."

The way this guy talked in roll call. It sounded like he had more guns and ammo then the Rhode Island National Guard

What a convoluted web is being woven here. It is all very curious.

Straw buyer?

A closeted shithead sent to infiltrate PDs
and funnel intel back to his litter-mates?

Mutts in Police Uniforms have always been
a cause of concern.

They come in all stripes and persuasions too.

The worst mutts are the protected/politically connected ones.

This pop-up side act of the Shit-Show promises to be very entertaining.

Not lost or stolen?

I guess the gun fairy must have taken it to give to the poor innocent underprivileged 29 year old child.

The story I just read says the cop is a Former Deputy and has purchased at least 47 weapons.

Lake County states the Deputy is no longer a deputy as of Friday: Probationary period separation it seems.

Heyjackass FB page links the story

So politicians who get money from gangs that make millions in drug sales, get to put "their" people on the job and promote them. What's wrong with that? This is the Communist People's Republic of Chicago.

27 yoa and had bought 45 guns as reported in Tribune this a.m. No, I don't trust early media reports but this one, at first sniff, certainly does not pass the smell test.

Veterans get passed over for this job by not passing the mysterious pass/fail psych test that offers them no rebuttal. Other admission tests have their standards lowered to make more people passing trhe grade? No applications? The city is getting the Police Department it wants.

Wow. This sounds even worse than hiring convicted felons to proctor a sergeants exam, with one of said felons convicted of UUW where he had a pistol stolen from the Rockford Police Department. Nothing like a convicted felon police hating motherfucker getting to look at your drivers license and having access to your promotional exam answers.

Exactly why I took a small hit on selling my guns when I retired to cabellos, can't come back to bite me in the you know what, though I was a citizen after retiring,my wife insisted, she would give me the difference if a loss would occur, that's how strongly she felt about it,I didn't take her up on the loss but sometime sleeping better at night and all future nights is a profit! Retired cpd!

I am also 27 years old and I don't know if I could have ever afforded to purchase 45 guns...

Not sure why many people would take the huge pay cut and leave Chicago to go to Lake County Sheriff. Other departments yes, but not Lake County who is notorious for cutting most of their recruits in FTO or probation.

This one doesn't pass the eye test, but I really hope that I am wrong.

If you read the Libune's version, his union rep says the (ex-)deputy had nothing to do with the shooting and that the gun had been reported stolen.

When asked by investigators about it, the (ex-)deputy said he was unaware the gun had been stolen.

When later approached by the Libune, someone identifying himself as the (ex-)deputy said he would talk to them but would have to call them back. He never did.

Well now, seems to me that the Black Officers that have retired are now voicing g thier displeasure about the job. Many of these guys and gals had good spots too. Now they want people put in positions merely to fill spots but not needing to take tests. Next they want the requirements to get the job eased up too. What a job not to have anymore

Relax Pal, there will be at least 06 Coppers at your wake who will tell your family how much they loved you and then ask " so what are you going to do with his guns?"
Look on the bright side, that 200 U.S.C. they get for ALL of them will help with the funeral.

I sure hope it was lost or stolen. If their department traded firearms back to the manufacturer for upgrades, and the used guns were sold to a broker who did God knows what with them...
