- Chicago may be known for its high murder rate, but one city has surpassed the windy city in homicide rates thus far this year.
The murder rate in Memphis, Tennessee is about 64 percent higher than that of Chicago this year, according to local outlet the Commercial Appeal.
Memphis has experienced a violent first three months with 60 people killed in 2016 at the end of March -- compared to 35 homicides this time last year. Those numbers put the homicide rate around 9.13 victims per 100,000 population.
In the same time period, 151 people had been killed in Chicago, but with a population of 2,722,389, the homicide rate is only at 5.55.
You take your victories where you can get them.

Since it only the first quarter, the ANNUAL RATE is about 22 per 100,000.
And you are only clearing 3 or 4 of those 22 deaths per thousand.
So this year, about 450 to 480 out of the 600 murderers are going to skate.

And since everything comes down to race these days, what is the racial makeup of victims and known offenders in Memphis? Thought so. But don't say anything, that would be racist, and soooo un-pc.
Is there a common denominat5or between the two cities.
Up until last year, if you go by the per capita murder rate, that is the number per 100,000 population, Chicago was not on the top 50 list of US Cities and did not make the top 20 in Illinois. That is a statistic that surprises a lot of people and when you repeat that you will not be believed.

Wow. Is this what it's coming to? All you working taxpaying citizens fleeing Chicago, don't go to Memphis, it's worse there, per capita. Its also bad, per capita, in Birmingham, Detroit, Atlanta, etcetera etcetera.
Okay let's move to Deerfield, Kansas, or Rifle, Colorado, or Hogeye, Arkansas, they're "safe" places to live and raise a family. But those awful communities support those awful police and they're very "weak" with their lack of diversity.
But for some reason, they all live together without constantly killing each other. Very confusing.

* Water rates quadrupled
* how about all the extra cell phone taxes
*Cable TV Taxes
*tobacco taxes
*extremely high city sticker taxes (how's Herbie Sue?)
*real estate taxes skyrocketing
Many many more yet you the elected have stolen so much depleted pensions where are the massive indictments?

Just tell Memphis #blm that every single shooting in town was done by white policemen. The truth doesn't matter to them, and it'll give 'em something to do.

Agreed and these 2 items are exploding everywhere so many new customers everyong on cell phones 95% with heavily taxed cable:

Don't Forget gasoline prices low (saving city millions) where does all the extra go? To the thug areas reaping just in police overtime alone 100+ Million thrown away, the illegal inavders getting housing,food,free free free, while our pensions are taken, the alderman have to be pocketing untold amounts!
