- A man has been charged with attempted murder for firing a bullet that ricocheted and struck a Chicago Police officer in the face Sunday.
James Garland, 53, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with the shooting in the 2700 block of East 92nd Street, according to police.
About 8:45 p.m. Sunday, officers were executing a search warrant for narcotics when someone inside the home fired a shot that eventually struck the officer between the eyes, Police Supt. Garry McCarthy told reporters.

What the fuck. This is why I read this site and CWB. The other media outlets instead run puff pieces of Taste of Chicago, another person singing the anthem in a public place, cat videos and other bullshit. As a black man I am disgusted by black lives matter. Just waiting on the one time a normal person just going to work or minding their business gets roughed up by the cops. It has yet to happen as far as I can remember. There was a case in Pittsburgh but that was years ago. The others are individuals who were told to lay down, follow orders, etc.
Carol Howard is nothing more than a BLM mole wearing a judges robe. She drops all the cases in her room, no matter what. Very very very rarely does one get a conviction with her. It's all by race with her. If you're a white cop, even Hispanic, and caught a black or Hispanic criminal, charges dropped case dismissed no pc. Disgusting piece of racist slime, opening the lawsuit door with each dropped case. Half the time spent during her trials she spends it not paying attention or playing on her computer. She's is a PRIME example of what's wrong with Cook Co.
Yet these judge would like our votes to retain them. Bad enough bad guys want to hurt the police. Bad enough the pols/brass have it in for the police. Bad enough the public mistrusts the police. Now judges are defending the bad guys who want to hurt the police. We've come full circle. There is no one left to turn to but ourselves and our families. Whatever we do on the street, let's make sure we back each other up, cuz apparently no one else has our backs.
You can keep putting these stories up every day for the next ten years, and there will still be dumb fucks that will go out and work as if they can't see what's happening around them. You just can't fix stupid. The communists have won this city. They won a long time ago. If you do the job like we used to, you are a fool and deserve what happens to you. In my estimation (based on 22 years of service and working in four different units) 85% of the department gets it- answer your radio, back each other up, do paper, etc. 10% is in the middle and 5% are the super troopers. In their mind this is all a game. These 5% of officers have a kids type of mentality. Just examine how they behave, how they act, their speech patterns, their speech vernacular, their reports (i.e. "arresting officer observed offender Jones throw a clear plastic bag of suspect cocaine on the ground and fled west bound on Monroe"). Examine how all of their pcs or dopw or gun arrests say the same thing. Then you come to the conclusion that these 5% of the officers in this department can never be saved nor persuaded. So let it be then. Let them do as they want and let them suffer the consequences.

She actually had the gall, during the trial, to state she believed it was an accident and the defendant was probably shooting at the piece of wood and not the officer. How can you present a fair case when you are going to be countered with that type of logic. And that's only one example of this racist, cop hating Judge's argument. Eddie has been in the media numerous times saying the laws are in place and the judges won't hold them. Maybe he should take this case and ram it down the media's throat.

As soon as it was mentioned he was found Not Guilty in Judge Howard's courtroom, that pretty much explained it all. She hates the police and rarely ever finds anyone guilty of anything.

EXACTLY. Without exception, to the best of my knowledge, every single video that has been released of some poor sap getting "murdered" by the police had one thing in common: the jagoff didn't listen! Whether or not one believes that the idiot's actions were deserving of a bullet, you cannot deny that had each one of them simply complied with lawful orders, they would be alive today.

"Judge Harry Van Harten’s written decision in the case argued that the motivation of the perpetrator, Tamara Crowchief, in the attack on the victim, Lydia White, was not related to racial bias.
"The judge disagreed with the prosecutor’s argument that the unprovoked assault, which occurred in November 2015, rose to the level of a hate crime.
"Van Harten said there wasn’t enough evidence to establish the claim that Crowchief attacked White because of her skin color, despite the fact that the perpetrator, who had never met the victims before the attack, yelled “I hate white people” before throwing a punch.
"There is no evidence either way about what the offender meant or whether … she holds or promotes an ideology which would explain why this assault was aimed at this victim,” the judge said."

Why did it take years for this case to come up in court? Why didn't the state bump this thing up and why didn't the officer file charges personally against this piece of garbage? I don't know how the process works so I am asking.
This type scenario was always my greatest fear when I was in Narcotics.
The first guys through the door during search warrant executions are completely exposed. Not to mention the ram guy. Because it usually takes a two or three whacks before the door comes down. If the shitbird shoots through the door, and you've got a 30 lb ram occupying both hands, all you can do is hope the bullet hits vest.
By the grace of God, my position on the team never called for me to be first through the door.
No disrespect meant at SWAT, but I can't see a reason why, with all their training, they aren't the ones going through doors on search warrants.
This shit is just not worth it anymore, brothers. It's just not.

A GOOD idea.
Start making a list of Judges who should be voted out next term. (I know, some say - VOTE ALL THE INCUMBENTS OUT).
This list would be very handy as to letting people know who should be retained and who should find new employment.
The BAR puts out a list, the papers put out a list, SCC you should be putting out a list. MANY people would listen.
