At the halfway point of the year, homicides have jumped by 49 percent citywide to 312 through Tuesday, reaching levels unseen since the late 1990s. Shooting incidents have risen by even more, marking the third consecutive year of double-digit increases.
While it doesn't rank as the nation's murder capital on a per-capita basis, Chicago is the runaway leader in the sheer volume of killings and shootings. New York and Los Angeles don't even come close. Through June 19, Chicago had more homicides than those two larger cities combined, records show. The two combined had fewer than 1,000 shooting victims during that same period, while Chicago by Tuesday topped 1,900 — about 10 a day.
You know which strategy might work better than all the brainstorms downtown is failing at? Something along the lines of the Third Punic War in 149 BC - burn the hood to the ground and sow the vacant lots with salt.

This city will implode by years end. Violence on record pace......Couple that with fact police have lost another battle with city in regards to the pension payment. The city has weaseled it's way out again after two court orders to lay the pension debt it owns, and the third judge was the winner moving the date down the road considerably.
How come no coverage of the latest back room deal/ruling kicking the lump sum further down the road SCC

New Your has something line 3,000 detectives. Chicago has 700. There are detectives in New Your who have never seen a dead body let alone a murder victim. NY should send their Dets here for inservice training.

Sometimes the "rain" in Chicago contains lead. It "rains" real hard on the South and West sides. "Lead rain" is just another phenomenon of "Urban Climate Change".

That's too severe. There is NOTHING wrong with the real estate or the buildings on it. What's wrong is the infestation of vermin in them. Fumigation is the solution; gas the vermin and sweep up, and in a week you've got prime rental digs.
Okay, a couple of months to do repairs after what the vermin have chewed up. But it's NOTHING compared to what it costs just to feed them.

Authorities in Sweden are outraged at the huge increases of sexual assaults against Swedish women that are being blamed on the Syrian 'refugees' that have flooded their country.
Their response?
They are passing out those little rubber-band-like wristbands that say "DON'T TOUCH ME". They aren't sure how effective this new program will be, however, since these wristband messages are written in Swedish and the vast majority of the offenders are Syrian and can't even read them!
WAIT! Stop laughing. Chicago Police could pass out wristbands saying "DON'T SHOOT ME" or 'Strip 'em Eddie Johnson' could have his own that say "I'M SICK AND TIRED"... Hey, you know what they say. If it can keep one shooting from happening, it's worth it!

This is a national/world disgusting news what they have let happen to our once nice city "make Chicago great again" by hopefully getting these officials indicted and charged that is the only way put the top criminals in prison let's hope Hillary gets what she deserves by the justice department quickly!

Another country tried passing out cartoon pamphlets; drawings of a woman being mauled, surmounted by the red "international" struck red circle that's supposed to mean "No." I don't think that worked either.
Worst was the "anti-assault demonstration" in which some nutty "artist" woman stripped naked, painted on herself in German or Swedish or something "I don't care what I am wearing, you cannot touch me," and stood in the town square like that. Seriously -- the pix are out there.
I think she missed the message there, too -- in a big way.

When this got rolling, one Syrian guy told a reporter that "Here in this makeshift camp, only 1 or 2 out of 10 are Syrian. A lot of them don't even speak Arabic." One gang of professional burglars from Georgia (region of former USSR) got into Germany this way and -- surprise! -- people are getting cleaned out. Daesh got hold of the Syrian government's ID equipment -- machines, special paper, everything -- and now you have "genuine ID" with any info you choose on it. Like taking control of the DMV/passport office here.

If they are to be believed, the tv news reported that Trump twitted/tweeted, that he was amazed when he heard from a source that hillary will not be charged with anything! Wonder if it was Slick Willie's boarding a private plane with his famous cigar that sealed that deal???
