- Today on WVON the theory is that police are not stopping these shooters because the police are .... Wait for it... Racist. OMG so now the low life thug [killings] and shootings of innocents are the police fault because "if they are [willing] to kill [young] blacks, then they must be [allowing] violence too".
So if we stop members of the "community," we're racist.

And if we don't prevent shootings that used to be prevented by stopping gun-toting thugs, we're allowing violence to occur....probably because we're racist again.

WVON has a commanding arbitron rating 0.4 so you know all of the shows have merit. They have a bartender broadcaster (Matt McGill) Perri Small (a recovering alcoholic) and Convicted Felon (Cliff Kelley) during drive times. I don't understand how they can have a disclaimer that the views of the show don't reflect the corporate mission of WVON. They are all receiving come station from the station. Sounds like some B.S. to me. I listen to the station to hear some of the theories that evolve from the most astute listeners of talk radio.....Yeah Right!

Maybe if you would care to enlighten your black celebrity rappers to reverse the NO SNITCH POLICY people would give information to the police. If the neighbors know who did the shooting they should assist the police in appprehending these killing thugs. You stand there knowing who these killers are but remain silent. A New Mexico police officer did his job, making a traffic stop on a violator. He is dead as I write this. The 3rd cop this week killed in the line of duty. And other than his brothers and sisters in blue, no one really cares. May he rest in peace.

TV don't cut it. Family does. Mine knew when I had a 10-cent eraser I shouldn't have had. It was a new thing, clear green stuff and it smelled pretty. Devil on one shoulder out-talked the angel on the other, and I swiped it from the drugstore. Oh, you should have heard it.
Today, a F__ebook he-say-she-say starts up between teen girls, and some unca or play cousin hops right on the bus from miles away, bringing a loaded .38 to settle things. Gun sticks on the first try, so he helpfully puts it right and hands it back to the kid. Worked that time. Dead girl on the porch.

The mayor can't wait for us to start fighting over this issue. He knows that some guys will cowardly work the OT and others will stay strong. As soon as this occurs, he will be well on his way to breaking the FOP just in time for the upcoming negotiations. Rahm will strip the contract of the discipline protections and laugh as he does so. Problem is their habit is being supplied by an endless supply of taxpayers money. In order to hit rock bottom all forms of aid would have to stop. Unless you have a physical affliction that prevents you from going out and working a job or a physician proven mental disease(and no you can't qualify with a learning disability to receive SSI just because you refused to go to school, thru story). Once all aid is cut people will have to work a JOB (and selling dope on the corner doesn't count). The Democrats feed the habit by providing everything for free that tells the junkie if you go out and get a job you will actually have to work 8 hours a day, pay your bills and provide for your family. Years and years ago when Steve Dahl and Gary Mier were on WLS they used to refer to WVON as the "white conspiracy" station. If you dared tune into it no matter what the topic was the radio host, or caller always found someway to turn the tragedy of the day into a "white conspiracy" on the poor black, now called African-American community. They even had a host who did a show in Dallas in the morning, then flew to Chicago for an afternoon show here.
There broadcast tower was and I think still is( I moved after I retired 3 1/2 years ago) at 86th and Kedzie on the east side of the street just north of the old Luther South High School. Before it was WVON it was WNUS, an all news station that lost the battle to WBBM back in the 70's.

Yes, I believe that institutional racism has helped to cause the destruction of the black family, but the individuals have to take some responsibility for themselves. It would help if blacks would stay in school, study, not have children at a young age and out of wedlock, all factors that contribute to a lifetime of poverty. But, it is easier for many to blame the police and white people in general for their misery. I also blame the state legislators who have made just about every anti-social act a felony which keeps many people from good jobs. Some things need to change.
Nothing is their fault. Can't pass High School, whities fault, can't afford your 5 kids with different fathers, whities fault, 10 year old catches one because Mommy supplied the gun that shot another kid, whities fault. Seriously it gots to end.

On Mondays of every month starting with an M officers will give fleeing offenders a 30 secondnd headstart.

You're not including those honor students who have $33k/yr. teacher aides glued to them the full school day to make sure they behave and go to class. Lake View high school had two such aides following around problematic wackados this past year. In fact, one wackado bit his teacher aide aka babysitter and his expulsion was denied by CPS. The kid had high double digit tardies and never did any work, yet, he didn't fail any classes.
what is the graduation rate among cps high school students
