One Hundred Shot in a Week
We thought the lead content in the air was heavier than normal - we were right:
- Nearly 100 people have been shot in Chicago in less than a week, pushing the number of shooting victims so far this year to more than 2,500 — about 800 more than this time last year, according to data kept by the Tribune.
Between last Friday afternoon and early Thursday, at least 99 people were shot in the city, 24 of them fatally. At least nine people were killed on Monday alone, the deadliest day in Chicago in 13 years, according to Tribune data. Among the wounded that day was a 10-year-old boy shot in the back as he played on his front porch in Lawndale.
The number of shooting victims in Chicago stood at 2,514 Thursday morning. At this time last year, 1,725 people had been shot. The city has not seen this level of gun violence since the 1990s, a trend the Police Department has blamed on lax gun laws and feuding gang factions.
Lax gun laws? Hahahahahahahaha. Oh lord, still with that tired old saw?
How about lax sentencing? Perhaps the ongoing war on police? The complete lack of political support or department support? Perhaps the complete dissolution of the family unit (mom, dad, affordable number of children, dog, job, food, roof, etc.)? Or would that be too introspective?
We wouldn't worry much though - we heard the writers at HeyJackass.com just got back from a Sam's Club shopping trip. They've been stocking up on calculator batteries.

Lax gun laws and concealed carry make sense for the large number of shot. Not to worry, when Hillary gets elected she is going to ban almost all types of firearms and make concealed carry a thing of the past. The only people allowed to carry concealed will be democrat party operatives and Clinton Foundation biggies.
Back in the '90s there was the Clinton AWB and Chicago's own gun ban, homicides and shootings went thru the roof. So stringent gun laws produced death and injury and lax gun laws produced death and injury. Who was in charge then? Demorats! Who is in charge now? Demorats! Who was committing over 95% of the shootings back in the '90s? Blacks! Who is committing over 95% of the shootings now? Blacks! And who are the victims? Blacks! Anyone see a pattern. It ain't the gun's fault.

The lax gun laws. That's too funny. We all know these gang bangers are lined up for their concealed carry permits and march into a gun store and order their new handgun and wait the 72 hour name check time. I don't think so. The only reason they're blaming the lax gun laws is because most gun advocates are Republicans and we can't be blaming any democrats for all this killing. I know the politicians are liars and thieves but how about some actual reporting on where guns come from and who's doing the shooting and how many times they've been arrested and why aren't they serving their complete sentences.

You know, that death toll could have easily been double if these people (or folks) actually took an extra second or two for proper sight alignment.
