100 Shots
- Carl Benton was playing music at a house party in the South Chicago neighborhood on the Far South Side early Saturday when he looked up and saw people rushing toward him.
Soon, women were on top of him during what he recalled being about 10 minutes of gunfire. He thinks he heard "about 100" gunshots just after 2:10 a.m. from inside and outside a home in the 8800 block of South Exchange Avenue.
Along with the tone-deafness, the irony was thick:
- A CeaseFire sticker was visible on the front door of a home at the edge of the crime scene. Nearby, residents had posted on a wooden fence a sign of a gun, warning the public that they don't call 911.
That wasn't posted to warn the public - that was posted to warn the other bangers. Obviously this "reporter" has no sense of gang-banger sarcasm.

He heard 10 minutes of gunfire. Thats alot of rounds. Play your music inside your house Carl Benton and use headphones. Do not wake the zombie with loud music or outside speech.
100 shots!!!! I'm sure BLM will be chanting that downtown any day now...wait never mind the po-leece didn't shoot those people or the other 4,000 this year-to-date

Maybe the sign was a welcome sign for CCW's...kinda opposite of what's on the doors of restaurants, stores, etc...!
1 dead, 1 critical and 4 others wounded. 60-something casings, numerous fired bullets, 4 recovered guns and a handful of cars and houses in the hood shot up. Just another day in the ghetto.
Meanwhile in New Orleans ... 1 dead ...9 wounded on Burbon st ...

I heard from soneone on the scene that it was actually 101 shots and not the 100 that the media is insisting upon

The Police get fired and lose almost everything when they fire their weapons why doesn't the county take the homes away from the people who reside in crime rides properties? 0

Dragons vacated years ago from South Chicago, went to Indiana!
They still go at it from time to time but it's usually on the East Side...

Can someone explain why Pastor Corey Brooks was allowed to walk around inside the crime scene with Area South Detectives?? I do believe he was told to leave by a PO.
