- Please read !!!. As I came home from work about 9:30 am this morning and went in the back to open the gate to the back yard to park my car, two men jumped out of the car , one holding a camera , the other with a microphone and a piece of paper in his hand. He identified himself as Dave Savini from Channel 2 News and asked me what's my respose to ten allegations of domestic something ?
I had no idea what the hell he was talking about ...I don't have any domestic complaints nor CRS regarding any domestic other than 18 years ago when my son's father, who is not the police, would call the department constantly trying to get me fired. I have never done anything. I believe I have an examplary record and I have no idea what the hell he was talking about .
I put my hoodie on my head and then I told him to stop following me and if he was crazy to follow officers at home like that. Of course FOP said that anyone can do that. So please be careful when you go home and ensure no white van or any asshole follows you and keep your family safe . God bless and United we stand !
UPDATE. Someone just told me that they got the FOIA with officers with CRS and it is believed that they got the wrong officer, and they probably wanted my soon to be ex, whose last name I have

Allow them to publish the story. If you believe it portrays you in a false light and it was done with actual malice, you should contact an attorney. You may be able to sustain the action against CBS for portraying you in a false light. Which, is a type of invasion of privacy. Proving actual malice can be difficult, but it can be done. I'm not going to outline all of the elements of the offense here. But, CBS does have Deep Pockets.
I wonder what would be the response if people started following the reporters home?
It's funny how the media outlets come after us because they know we are civil. So they use a false narrative and go with it for press.
The Chicago media is too scared to get in the face of gang violence because the savages they defend will cut them where they stand.

Well, leap out at me on MY property and you will find out the hard way that I carry my gun in my pocket and I keep my hand on it when coming and going from my house and my car. What a frightening experience. Can you imagine fearing the worst for your kids when people leap out at you like that?

Do not believe they followed you home. Many years ago while involved in a media worthy case the media was at my residence along with my senior citizen parents home . One was on the southwest side and the other on the north side . While the media trolls awaited my arrival home after a 16 hour work day claiming to my the senior parents I was a hero after banging on their front door. They already had my info from within the department. This occurred way before the internet was readily avaiable. Don t be naive. Nothing is sacred When I complained it went noware. Live and learn.

He plead guilty but from what this poster said he could be back at the bottle again.
Didn't Dave Savaini get pulled over for dui with a bunch of kids in the car , then flee from police?
He leaps out on me and I'm going to be the one interviewing him. Dave, Does DCFS still have custody of your kids after you crashed your car in a drunken state and battered the other driver? Dave after you fled the scene of an accident and being drunk, is your license still suspended, and is that why your camera man is driving you around? DAVE, is not TRUE that you've beaten your girlfriend.... Where are you going Dave? Does this mean the interview is over? Don't worry Dave, I know where you work, we can pick up the interview from there....
I would wait until Angelo and this current fop administration is voted out before contacting the fop. Hopefully a new administration will take on this fight. Angelo and fop did nothing for Officer Murphy when she was bullied by this sleaze Savini.

I think that the Rolling Stone lawsuit will change things. They published a phony story about a fake rape at a fraternity house and they were just successfully sued. If the media slanders you, don't be afraid to take legal action against them. They need to be held accountable.

Going back to the 1980's a shark named Karl, nbc 5 listed the 10 most violent PO's doing a news expose on them. He showed up at the home of one of my relatives who was on the job/list and tried to interview his shocked wife. They will stop at nothing to create a story, but a larger story about channel 5 and cocaine dealing by members of the on air staff was squashed by the brASS at 11th st and no doubt the hall. I got that story first hand from undercover working the case who along with his partner were bounced out of 189 to the deuce and grand crossing and incidentally he was one of those targeted by Karl.

Precedent here is the fake rape story that now has Rolling Stone mag in heap big trouble. They did no fact checking and ended up slandering a university official. She sued and won.
In this case, CBS got its information wrong. Clearly did no fact checking or made any attempt to verify the id of the person they intended to confront. You are not a public figure, so slander and defamation laws apply pretty stringently here. CBS may have deep pockets, but those pockets can be emptied if they make unsubstantiated and slanderous claims.
The FOP needs to sue these reporters, on behalf of the officers involved. That will slow this nonsense down. Of course, we need motivation from the FOP elected officers, to get this implemented, so don't hold your breath.

About 10 years ago the same goofs from channel 2,and chuck goudies people did the same to me, followed me around, Then the day i was driving an unmarked crown vic, I made a quick stop and got out approached the car following me the asshole said "what do you want" I said show me your license the dick then had a newspaper with a mike under it, he showed me it and I told him to stop following me got back to the area, called into commanders office and told "Chuck Goudie called me that was his guy following you be careful!" that was the end of that!

Years ago an officer (now Sgt) was walking out of 011 and was filmed by Ch2. If I remember correctly it was a story regarding a dirty cop by good ole Walter Jacobsen. Well, the officer they filmed and showed during the segment was the wrong guy. He hired an attorney and got a fat settlement from CBS.
On another note these scumbags will follow you anywhere. Getting your info is way too easy these days. But do what you can to protect yourself. Change your license address to your district address and register your cars to the same address. It's not perfect but it is a start. And be sure to do the same with your FOID. I was told recently that if your DL and FOID have different addresses you will have difficulty purchasing a new weapon.

Google your own name and see how many websites have you info. I did then I contacted each one via link on their website usually under the privacy section and had them remove me from it. I also opened an email account just for that so they could communicate with me and would not have my real email account for their files.

It isn't asinine rhetoric.
I'm a retired single female. I've put away my fair share of felons and some may have hard feelings about that. (I can't imagine why.)
If someone jumps out on me on my property, it isn't likely I'm going to engage in social conversation. So, when their camera catches me gasping in fear, shooting to defend myself against what I perceive as an attack, great. Maybe it can become the training film to end all training films for reporters on how not to act like thug trash, attacking people where they live.
So easy for you to criticize, sitting behind your computer. You don't live in my neighborhood, don't know my circumstances, but think it's okay to tell me how to speak and how to go about living my life. Mind your own words and actions. I can manage my own just fine, thanks.
