Brilliant - per-negotiated arrests:
- Upcoming staged protest plan - courtesy of SEIU, City of Chicago councilmembers, and the 12th District - at the corporate Mconald's (2005 W Chicago) will result in the 'arrest' of 100 SEIU 'demonstrators' as part of a larger national plan. SEIU, Alderman, and other protest groups have met with CPD command members to orchestrate these future arrests (ANOV) to include use of background checks. This astroturf event will be amplified in the media nationally to show how SEIU has the back of our nation's minimum wage employee
This while Chicago closes in on 700 "official" homicides, the real number prepares to pass 730 and over 4,000 people have extra holes in their bodies due to out-of-control gang violence.

Many of the smaller downtown arrests are staged. We are told beforehand by the organizers who is going to be arrested, when and where. Since the general public isn't familiar with ANOVs we are told to take the individuals "arrested" out of camera view to write them. This way it looks like the protester gave up his freedom for his cause and we of course look like the big bad oppressive police. The fact that the ass, errr I mean brass, goes along with these charades is sickening.

That is a heavily trafficked corner. Things will be a mess from Ashland to Western and Division to Lake. Just another screw-up by Special Ex, Proco and Bubblehead.
Have they negotiated a limit on the size of the rocks to be thrown?

This is nothing new. SEIU has their pre-staged protests all the time and CPD already knows who is going to be getting tickets and have Name checked them. It's all for show. This year on MLK Day SEIU had a protest at Sears (Willis) Tower. It was one of the coldest day of the year and it was all pre-planned. The planned arrestees didn't want to be out there any longer than necessary so they did their nonsense quick then allowed themselves to be arrested so they could get their tickets in the CTA warming bus. It's all one big dog and pony show and a joke at that.

This is the norm SCC. 9 years in Central Control now Area Central and saw that the majority of these protests are staged this way. Group forms, marches a certain distance, rally at a pre-determined spot (usually blocking an intersection) and fake arrests made... Yes, the names of the "arrestees" are given to us ahead of time. Yes, we slow walk them individually to the big prisoner van or sometimes the out of service CTA bus around the corner. Yes, an ANOV is issued. And yes, after signing they freely walk back to their comrades and cheer them on from outside the "safe area" the bicycle unit has established around the initial group.
We have actually had a couple of groups walk away angry when we didn't give them this dog and pony show in the past. Organizers yelling at officers about why they weren't ticketed and running to Nagode demanding their people be "arrested". A few of us have those recordings on cell phones for proof when we tell non-police this stuff which they don't believe.

I'm sure the department is more than willing to assist 100 people that would like to be arrested. Next month the department will announce that morale has improved and arrests are on the upswing.

Time to "drain the swamp" here, too. Department letting itself be used for political ends of outside pressure groups. Aldermen paying "activists" (WITH WHOSE MONEY?) to organize protests.

This has been going on for years in 001. The "activists" send their information to CPD ahead of time so they can be checked for outstanding warrants, you know, in case they forget to pay their parking tickets. Then, during the protest they can all be marched into 001 to get their ANOV and walk right out the door, The ANOVs are then dismissed in court.
All of this because WE don't have enough police to lock them up properly and they know it. CPD looks like they are doing something so the ones trapped by these lawless cretins are happy. CPD doesn't really look like the helpless entity that it is. The protesters get to feel like they have accomplished something. And the Mayor doesn't look like the feckless shit that he is. Everyone is a winner!
Talk about street theatre, what a waste of manpower.
This was the same tactic used during the Occupy Chicago protests. "Arrestees" were identified by colored armbands. What a screwed up world we live in.
Is it possible that the SEIU and the city are staging the protest at O'Hare tomorrow. If so wouldn't this be a federal offense of interfering

I was there on this BS and froze my ass off as well. Complete BULLSHIT. We have bigger problems in this city to concern ourselves with than to escort and anov a staged protest.
The bosses will move the "protest" to 008, then order the officer's to do ISR's for each ANOV.

"Aldermen" are not supposed to be "protest groups." Neither are police supposed to be handed theater scripts to follow. This is wildly inappropriate behavior, miles outside the intent of the political system and the law, and it is "bias" on as big a scale as I've even seen it.
Clean out this department and reduce the number of aldermen to 20.

This is Standard Operating Procedure Nationwide. NYC, Baltimore, LA, Frisco, Ferguson, Minneapolis, every "non-violent" demonstration uses the same procedure. The "arrests" get the protesters on camera, and in exchange, the protesters promise to keep the march and demonstrations "mostly non-violent."
Works great until you get a bunch of teenaged suburban white boys in facemasks going around breaking windows and setting shit on fire. They call themselves Anarchists, but the truth is they are a bunch of midle and upper class white loser punks trying to play Robin Hood. Arrest them, and expect Mommy's lawyers to sue your ass for false arrest and brutality. Because Pyro the Snow Flake would never do that.
Remember Dallas? The BLM protest was going to plan, until the black whack job starting killing cops. Five dead and how many wounded?

Another staged mass arrest? I love how a boss tells the crowd if they dont leave they will be arrested. Then the crowd goes wild when the protestors start getting arrested and they have no clue it was all scripted beforehand.
CPD are not stagehands to help someone's play go smoothly. Exit Ja'Mal stage left where he is merely handed a piece of paper once out of sight, while tapes of screaming and beating noises and shouts of "POLICE BRUTALITY!" are played for the audience as the makeup artists rip his shirt and carefully apply some fake blood before letting him out the door to whip things up once more.
...and here comes Al Sharpton in a halo and angel wings, being "flown" back and forth fifty feet above the scene on invisible wires with a blizzard of $20 bills showering down for "reparations," as a huge projection of Huey Newton sitting in that silly chair with his whale harpoon fills the backdrop while the Daughters Of Assata in their matching purple berets enter all chained together from stage right and begin their smash hit street-dance number, "Kill The Police," backed up by a swingin' 20-man bullhorn section, all clad in gold-lame' suits and top hats and untied bright-orange plastic sneakers.

first thing the noon news covered (chanel 5) was the "protest" with the poor citizen interview relating how 60 were arrested (ticketed) after intentionally blocking an intersection.
Next story was our Super bragging about how we are now going to be focusing on De-Esc in use of force situations, and how we are scrapping our current use of force model. And here I thought the deadline was extended to allow for imput into this proposed order? Guess not.
