- Eleven men were killed and at least 37 other people have been wounded in shootings over Christmas weekend across Chicago.
The gun violence since Friday evening has surpassed the toll over the same four-day holiday last year, when 30 people were shot across the city.
Those must have been preliminary numbers, seeing as how HeyJackass.com has the mayhem clocking in a 11 and 44.

My daughter went to grammar school with the Dillon girls and they are close friends. They have been at the top of their class in all levels of school including college. They finished #3 and #7 on the detective list. They earned their promotions legitimately and through hard work. The haters and complainers need to sit this one out...

I second this. I know how hard they worked for this. It is very distasteful to try and minimize that hard work.

Uhm, honestly being sent to OHARE with less than 5 years on? Working hard my a $$. At least they didn't "work hard" at the sgts test. "Officer Winter" needs to get back on duty!

It's time all minorities take a look in the mirror and ask themselves have I done enough to protect my offspring and community or will I just continue to leach and allow the government to provide and raise them?
We were on our way to a burglary in progress and saw a small group near an alley. As we drove by they started waving wildly for us to stop, but we decided to go to the burglary call at a very slow pace. Later we learned the group that was trying to get our attention were near a person who was shot and dead. In retrospect, I'm very happy we did not stop. If we did, I just know something bad would have happened. Trying to stay fetal and safe, I don't care anymore about these communities.
