More importantly it shows how the journalists who publicly inform that they are unbiased, are clearly biased. I still don't understand how journalists are not charged under RICO.
Controlling the press is the key to all other things that have happened and will continuemtomhappen in this city and county. If you read thru a lot of those emails, all he and everyone around him cares about is the optics of everythingts up shop here and starts . So much time and energy goes into molding what the press says its actually a joke. The press in Chicago are nothing more than flannel mouthed lazy people who simply do as told. What we need is Rupert Murdoch to buy or start a paper here and put the best investigative reporters on staff to really dig around. People wouldmstart shitting their pants. And I would actually buy a paper again. The stark truth is the corruption is so deep and embedded that it will tak a huge effort to actually get anywhere near some form of legitimat government. If you ask anyone on the street about corruption they can all tell you one or two instances that they know of personally or have seen happen right in font of everyones noses yet absolutely nothing will happen about it. Its actually an accepted practice now. Yet they manage to put the heat on everyday coppers just trying to do the right thing. I dream of the day the DOJ sets up shop here and looks into the REAL problem. And its not the coppers.

This email reveals a great deal. It shows that the media is in Rahm's pocket and he can place op eds in the media whenever he likes. No independent media scrutiny in this city. The email also shows there is no arm's length between the city which is to regulate services and Uber. I'd love to know what piece of Uber Rahm has. His brother, Ari, is one of the major shareholders in Uber. Isn't it a conflict of interest for Rahm to be doing favors for Uber? You bet it is. When is the fed ever going to shine its light on the fifth floor?
Uber/Lift comes in, ignores the taxi/livery laws of the state and city, requiring licenses and background checks. etc etc etc. Putting the Taxis out of business and hiring people who kill and rob. All with the OK of the man in charge. What else will he allow to come in and take over????

Here is a take on UBER that now RAhM has to deal with. Pushing their ride share bullshit has probably cut into CTA reidership and now that their contract is up we will here the screaming from the Transit Union about an unfair offer and from CTA about ridership decrease and no funding from Springfield, and cuts in bus routes that only serve the underprivileged and on an on.
But remember this the guy who runs UBER is making it hand over fist and doles out his contributions to those that hand back their municipal transit to him no matter what side of the aisle or whose prick you sit on.
I'd like to see a tax return for someone rolling an UBER as a full-time gig and watch their eyes bulge when they are hit with tax bill.

Obama made him Sec. of Transportation. He was succeeded as US Representative by his chief of staff, Aaron Schock, now facing multiple indictments.
