The last person to die of gunshot wounds was a man who got into a fight in Albany Park early Sunday morning.

But we are still up almost THREE HUNDRED compared to last year. 300!
Already 300 more than in 2013 or 2014.
773 homicides as of now. It would take a rash of warm weather to bring out the POS to reach 800 homicides by year's end. I figure 780 - 785 at the high end.
If there are anymore 'social justice/social engineering' programs added to the already onerous oversight of CPD one can be assured that next year we will see 1,000 homicides. And by all means please Mr. Mayor can you layer another on us to satisfy the community, while not demanding the community improve itself?

give the criminals a break- its Xmas and they have been working hard all year causing mayhem and bloodshed....they need some down time to recharge, rejuvenate and reconnect ----with all the dead piling up chances are they too are woefully understaffed and lacking resources (its not just CPD struggling)

Anywho, there's eight days left in 2016, 785 total Homicides is easily in reach, it's 773 now. And 693 have been shot dead. I wager that 700 will be passed by Tuesday morning.
Some Murders and are still listed as a "Death Investigation". Unfortunately, it will mostly likely will all be exposed next year, so I will not win my ghool-pool.
