- 11 people have been killed and 11 wounded in shootings over a 48-hour period in Chicago from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning, Chicago police said.
On Tuesday, a 30-year-old man was shot and killed in the North Lawndale neighborhood, police said. He was a passenger in a vehicle when another vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots at about 9:30 a.m.
Those are summer weekend-type numbers...in February...where the temps were in the 40's.

In both 2015 and 2014, there were two murders over the Presidents Day weekend.

I have a question: Where is the Black Caucus of the Chicago's City Council anger over the Poor Job of the current Police Superintendent? I don't hear the usual suspects calling out the current Police Superintendent. Could it be that the members of the Black Caucus finally have a Superintendent that they can call and get their "Man/Woman" in positions of power? Could it be that the current Superintendent is kissing their asses to keep his position? Where is the outcry from head of St Sabina's parish?(I refuse to refer him as Father/Priest). How come he is not leading protest marches on 35th and Michigan now that there is a black superintendent? For that matter, why is he leading protest marches at city hall? Former Police Superintendent McCarthy was fired because he became a distraction over the McDonald shooting. But was that the real reason or was that icing on the cake? If you vote for Shields, Angelo or anyone they endorse or are running with you must be independently wealthy and not care too much about protecting your wages and benefits.
