Rahm to Ban Cars
Here's a dumb idea, four years in the making and (no doubt) costing countless millions:
- The city of Chicago is preparing to unveil an ambitious plan to eliminate fatal accidents on the city’s streets.
Chicago Transportation Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld says the Emanuel Administration is about to outline it’s Vision Zero action plan, which is part of a global movement intended to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious-injury accidents.
Chicago signed on to the effort in 2012, and the plan is finally drawn up.
Eliminate fatalities? And serious injury accidents? This sounds similar what Rahm and lib-tards are trying to do with guns - ban the guns and murders will miraculously cease. How's that working out lately?
- “It’s just the start,” Scheinfeld said. “Following the release of the plan, we’re going to do community engagement especially in areas where we’re seeing the greatest concentration of traffic crashes — and you see a lot of that on the South side and the West side. There’s a disproportionate impact on areas of greatest hardships.”
Gee, the South and West sides again. Is there no affliction that can't be traced to these neighborhoods? How about you try this?
- take and pass Driver's Ed
- get a license
- practice
- buy and insure a car
- maintain said car
- obey the law
- don't be an asshole
That would cut down on injuries and fatalities overnight.

Don't flee from the police in a stolen, just don't flee from the police.
Don't be drunk and walk into the street expecting traffic to see and stop on a dime.
Don't be stupid and run out from between parked vehicles.
Don't swing your driver's door open into oncoming traffic as you step out.
Don't be drunk and get out of a cab into oncoming traffic.
Don't wear dark clothing, after the sun goes down, and cross the street when the street lights are out.
Don't speed on LSD and wrap yourself around a tree or light pole.
Don't drive into oncoming traffic on LSD or Chicago expressways.
Don't ride your bicycle blazing through a red light or stop and expect vehicles to yield.
I probably missed a few.
Rebekah Scheinfeld has no fucking clue how to stop crashes. "Community engagement", what a joke. That ranks right up there with "Community Policing". More monies pissed away that could be used to shore up the pensions of the City.
Hmmmm. This one truly has me stumped.
Try as I might, I cannot come up with a reason why "Institutional Racism" could be the driver behind this.
But then I am a beneficiary of white, male privilege and my thinking is obviously clouded. A brainstorming session
by the progressive elite with key input from the aggrieved, victims will surely show me the error in my thinking.
Because the usual suspects on the S & W sides aren't too up on what "Obey da law" means, you have to break it down:
* No speeding
* No double and triple parking
* No parking where there's a yellow line or sign
* Stop at red, go at green.
* Don't drive when you're stoned or drunk - even jus' a littl' bit Mang!
* Turn the volume down so no one outside the vehicle can hear it
* Don't be a dumb ass and cross in the middle of the street
* Don't shuffle across the street when you see vehicles coming... move your ass. pick it up!
* No shooting at other vehicles
* No crashing into other vehicles
* Stay off the damn phone
* No sex while driving
* Pay attention to what you're doing with the 3000# hunk of metal.
....or go down to the shipping and packaging supply aisle at an office supply store and buy a lot if bubble wrap and packing tape for your car. Make every car in the city do it.

Just another way to throw away money because a certain group can't or won't follow the simplest of rules. Throw more money away, that is sure to fix things. Another big liberal flop of an idea.

I just can't help myself on this one.. So Rahim says he is interested in saving lives and lowering fatal traffic accidents.. Really? Here are a few common sense tips, if you're really serious. ( we know you're not)
1)have judges at traffic court enforce/ apply the law.
2)fine heavily and lock up dui offenders.
3)fine/ lock up people driving without a license, suspended, revoked or cancelled licenses.
4) implement use of disposable breathalyzers.
5) push for a law with prohibits insurance agencies from giving policies that cover unlicensed drivers (policy wont cover unlicensed drivers)
I was in Europe in the military in 1991 and all traffic stops at had were required to submit to a disposable breathalyzer. 1991.
6) Don't take half a decade to take action.
Cook County doesn't take traffic deaths seriously. Cook County doesn't take traffic court seriously. Chicago hides behind cameras to get the WRONG PEOPLE while tossing everything at traffic court. Connect the dots. Judges are lawyers with connections. POLITICAL CONNECTIONS. Just keep the money coming in.
7) Install cameras in ALL COURT ROOMS TO INCLUDE THE JUDGES CHAMBERS.

The only way to achieve zero fatalities is to ban cars altogether and allow only bicycles. Being true to their nature, the socialist democrats want us to regress to cave dwellers, and eventual extermination. The left lives to create a problem and then force their "solution" upon us, resulting in more power for them, and an erosion of our liberties. Don't forget the democrat's, and Rahm's motto, "never let a crisis go to waste."
Liberal democrat thinking. Write some words down on paper sign it and people will stop crashing and killing themselves and each other. Then when it fails, as it will, blame Bush and Trump, the Russians, James Comey and Peter, Paul and Mary.

The way out of paying fines is to just go bankrupt, $200 for bankruptcy lawyer can get you out of thousands in fines, dude does it all of the time, car impounded just go bk and get it back. They need to close that loophole.
Hmmm, south and west sides. You mean in those places where:
1) residents drive poorly maintained beaters?
2) drivers rarely have insurance or valid drivers' licenses?
3) drivers can't be bothered with paying attention to the road because they're texting their peeps about hooking up at the club?
4) drivers have no assets, so even if they kill somebody it's "too bad so sad" when it comes time for the deceased's family to try to get anything from the perp to cover final expenses?
The same entitlement mentality that keeps the population hooked on government bennies also keeps them from taking any responsibility for their actions behind the wheel. Another gubmint giveaway won't solve that.

Confusing cause and effect again. Is there a disproportionate number of head injuries among people who hit themselves in the head with a hammer, too?
I laugh when I read something like this. I worked in 007 for years. When I got off, around 0045 hrs, sometimes I would have to wait at the back door for the gunfire to cease before I ran to my car in the parking lot. Then, as I made my way home southbound on Racine, if I was stopped at a red light, I would count to five when it changed green for me just to see how many cars would run their red light. It rarely failed and usually one or two citizens would barrel through their red light. If I would have pulled off when my light changed green i would have been T-boned. Traffic laws? ignored by way too many on the south side. As the saying goes, " no cop, no stop".
As far as I can tell Vision Zero is designed to make rural and suburban Americans move into cities and use mass transit exclusively, to preserve the environment.
You mention buy insurance. I submit to you that insurance is actually part of the problem. The moment that people do that, buy insurance, they instantly think that they now sudden;y have no responsibility. Crash? Who cares? That is what insurance is for! I have no worries about crashing.....that is what insurance is for!
Maybe the answer isn't to buy insurance after all. Maybe that is part of the problem - making people think that there are no consequences for their actions. Oh Boy, insurance rates will rise if they crash. Yeah, what a punishment. They just lessen their coverage and raise their deductibles, heck all the way down to 'legal limits" that don't even begin to pay for damage they do anyway.
Maybe going the other way - teaching them that what they do, what damage they do, is something that THEY have to PAY FOR themselves would work out a little bit better. Eh?

So 80% of these fatalities could be avoided if the police did their jobs, which in turn would make them racists.
Can't kill someone when your car was impounded for no license or insurance
Can't kill someone driving when your cars towed for no insurance
Can't kill someone when you were pulled over for suspicion of 501 and taken to the station for dui.
These are things that would stop the bullshit, but the police are racist if the take any of the above actions... So, I shall just keep sitting back and watching the bodies stack... that's racist too, but but it doesn't involve human contact.
The only reason it's not the North side is because theyre afraid to lose their parking space so they don't drive anywhere. They just run each other over on the bike and jog paths!

Not really....while few in number bike fatalities do occur.....usually brain damage either with or without a flimsy plastic safety helmet. In the 90's had a stepson going to NW (Yeah, I know). He had a T-bone with another bike in Evanston and was first thought going to be a fatality.
The only way to prevent any fatality or injury on the roadways is to close ALL roads to foot, bike and vehicular traffic. Nothing on the road no accidents.

The majority of problems experienced by minority communities could be resolved by a simple practice, obey the law and understand the police have been entrusted with the power to preserve order. Why does there have to be a different interpretation of the law when dealing with different races? Does that mean when a Muslim rapes a 10 year old girl and claims it is permissible under sharia law we can't arrest them? Ignorance of the law is not a defense or justification for breaking the law. We are a nation of laws and all people regardless of race, creed or religion are expected to obey these laws or suffer the penalty for your total disregard for the law. This is a simple premise and looking for any alternate solutions for this premise is to undermine our civilized society.
