Wrigleyville Dumbassery
While weekend arrests were down from years past, it's still an embarrassing weekend:
- Community pressure on businesses and the city to rein in Wrigleyville’s wild St. Patrick’s celebrations seems to be paying off—at least by some measures.
CWB Chicago estimates that “only” five people were arrested in connection with yesterday’s Green Invasion of the Clark Street bar strip.
That’s down sharply from 21 arrests in 2014 and 17 arrests in 2015. Seven people were arrested last year.
We also estimate that 21 people were scooped up and hauled out of Wrigleyville by ambulance crews during the revelry. That’s also down from past years.
The CWB blog has video and dispatch transcription of the stupidity.

A lot of nonsense up in Edison park bars as well. Remember if your going out drinking, leave your weapon at home. That way it is secure!
We could easily make it ZERO arrests.
It's just the free spirited wild Irish lads having a bit of fun and blowing off steam. They are harmless. Sluggers is normally a quite and refined place.
I love the 50 dollar per hour, cash, opportunity to help out local businesses. Green beer equals green pockets. Thanks !!!!!
Its very upsetting that The Dillon protection agency wasnt dispatched to prevent this mayhem
I-rish they would stop all these " celebrations". Cinco de mayo, PR fest , bud pelican and the gay pride parade. Call them what they are... shameless political pandering for voting blocks. That s a lot of 💰And manpower for paid babysitting
Dont forget all the fights that happened downtown at the parade that no one is talking about. Our great honor students that came in by metra we causing so many problems. But hey...they are just kids having fun. They are not thugs or anything like that. The tac team could have had many petty arrest that day but i guess we dont want to give these great youth of our future an arrest record for bs
good luck finding a tact team after 2 am in wrigleyville
70 tact officers in 019 now!
more than any other district in the city.
