Chiampas Unloads
- A Criminal Courts building judge’s temper flared Saturday as a Cook County prosecutor opted not to send half a dozen reputed gang members to jail for violating conditions of their parole or probation — after she had found probable cause to hold each of them for trial.
Associate Judge Peggy Chiampas couldn’t believe what she heard repeatedly from the prosecutor — that the state’s attorney’s office would not pursue charges against suspects on parole or probation, some with armed robbery or aggravated assault convictions, despite clear violations, mostly for being in the company of other known gang members despite conditions of release that forbade it.
Chiampas made sure for the record that everyone knew it was the prosecutor’s decision, not hers.
Chiampas asked if it was the state’s attorney’s policy, and called out activist Andrew Holmes, who was sitting in the courtroom’s back row to view an unrelated hearing, to be her witness.
“We have asked over and over again that the judicial system come and help with this gun violence with repeated offenders,” Holmes said afterward. “I’ve just witnessed why they’re out on the street, and I agree with that judge.”
Holmes said this is the “revolving door” that drives violent crime figures up and frustrates Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson so much.
This is what Obama wanted, and Prickwrinkle, Dart, Foxxx and Chief Judge Evans are abetting it.

Judge Chiampis is by far one of the most competent judges on the bench!!!! She is also not afraid to call it like she sees it. Heck, if she would've ran for States Attorney, I would've voted for her. She is infinitely more qualified than Kim Foxx, but she doesn't have the political pedigree. Funny how so many qualified people are overlooked because they don't have friends in the right places. Kim Foxx has been in office for some time now and we haven't heard anything from that office, business as usual. Overlooking criminal behavior in order to satisfy some bullshit political agenda and the current false narrative should disgust every law abiding citizen in this city and county. Now I show up for work, laugh, joke around, and park my car in a 1/2 block hunch zone looking for homicide offenders on my phone, in case there are any hiding in one of my games.
So far I haven't found any but I get paid to play at least 3 times a tour.

I believe the crime problem in Chicago rests in part with the Cook County Democratic Party that slates candidates for the State's Attorney Office and some for judge positions who are unduly influenced by gangs and gang culture. In return for support, the community elects these substandard candidates who are rewarded with judicial flavor and jobs to pass out to those supporters.
How else can you explain why a states attorney is not requesting high bonds or no bonds for these fine gentlemen from the community? The job of the State's Attorney is to be the legal representative and advocate for the public in criminal prosecution. If that is the operational policy of SA Kim Foxx, then she should be either recalled or impeached and removed from office.

This reply is not to glorify the good old days, but reading this really makes me wonder what in Gods Name happened. I can still remember going out on a warrant and having a couple of the ASA's just tagging along to help in the execution of the warrant. A lot of the ASA's were coppers kids or they had a close relative on the job. On many warrant executions these young Turk type ASA's would even carry a firearm to help back up the police. I know it was a different time, but seeing what the working copper has to put up with is unimaginable to me. If this information about Foxx's States Attorney's Officer does anything, it points to what the Democrat's really are, reformers who are scumbags. The use of race to determine how you are going to prosecute, police, and sentence criminals is a direct attack on our way of live via the legal system. I totally agree, do nothing. Give Dart, Foxx nothing in arrests, let them destroy themselves with their own policies. Oh, but you are wrong. If a judge does not sentence someone to what is called for in the law, the states attorney can appeal that to the Illinois Appellate Courts, I am not sure why the judge could not have just gone ahead and sentence these miscreants and tohell with the recommendation of Foxx.

Doesn't sound like the same thing. Impounding for fines is one thing, confiscation is another.
The whole asset forfieture racket is an unconstitutional scam. People have their property taken by government agencies because the agency wants to. And they can.
Recent article in paper how IRS does cash seizures from people that they KNOW have the money legitimately and lack the resources to fight. Then they offer you half back like they did you a favor.

About that physician being removed from the flight...I have heard lots of nasty comments about "Doctors aren't better than anyone else" (I am a physician, myself). My view is that that is absolutely true.
However, presume this is a primary care guy with 20 patients scheduled for the next day. Now, suppose you are one of those patients, and you took the day off of work and called in for that purpose, using up your too few sick days---and the doctor cancels.
How would you feel about the airline?
I, myself, do all of my Continuing Medical Education on Computer or Journal that needs to be done for licensure. I live a 2 hour drive from Corpus Christi, a city of about 400,000 people, and 4 hours from San Antonio and the University Medical Center there. I am 6 hours from Houston by car.
Literally, there is no place I need to go that requires a plane flight. Further, I live 10 minutes from my workplace along a palm lined, traffic free road where it never snows.
Airlines and their staff, along with the TSA searches, have made flying into an absolute misery. I live in Texas, 30 minutes from the closest thing to a tropical island on the Continental US outside of Key West, and 30 minutes from Brownsville (see how far South Brownsville is). In addition to being gorgeous, this area is the cheapest place to live in the 50 states.
We can use more retired police here. Just sayin'. No State Income Tax in Texas.
Watch Judge Peggy get transferred in the future. The powers to be don't want this Judge ending up in the papers drawing attention to their agenda. They will quietly shuffle her off to the Daley center or traffic Ct.
Who was the States Attorney? They should be named like the police officers are named.

Unfortunately for them they are not "coppers" and they cant give "a lawful Police order". They had no business jumping in front of CPD and handling their job and had no business being bouncers for some piece of shit airline that wants to get employees to destinations to hook up for other flights more then they want to give their paying customers what they paid for.
They never should have got involved and they never should have put hands on the guy. No matter what else the guy was a paying customer and they got involved in a private business dispute. At beat meetings, I tell citizens that they do their job by "saying something when they see something"; the Police do their job at going after and catching the bad guys; but the court system lets us all down. They let us down by providing slaps on the wrist; decrease or drop charges; provide electronic monitoring to violent offenders (that can be subverted by tinfoil -- really, it has happened!); and as in this case, refuse to enforce probation rules. I'm thankful to Judge PC and hopefully others can follow her lead.

Hey dickhead, he refused to deplane. An airline employee asks you to deplane that is a lawful order I don't care how many tickets you have. Then he refused to deplane when law enforcement asked him to deplane. Grabbing onto the seat back and squealing like a pig refusing to leave and then boarded again after being removed. This was not his house where he was sitting on the couch scratching his balls, but United's property. Anyone who refuses to leave the plane when asked by staff is a moron. The last straw for me was when Pepsi's CEO said her employees were fearful because Trump was elected. I sent Pepsi an e-mail explaining why it was not wise to anger half of their customer base and let them know I would not buy Pepsi anymore after being a lifetime customer. They own Lays Potatoe Chips, Gatorade, Quaker Oats, and more products, which I have stopped purchasing. I can still remember going out on a warrant and having a couple of the ASA's just tagging along to help in the execution of the warrant. A lot of the ASA's were coppers kids or they had a close relative on the job. On many warrant executions these young Turk type ASA's would even carry a firearm to help back up the police. I know it was a different time, but seeing what the working copper has to put up with is unimaginable to me. If this information about Foxx's States Attorney's Officer does anything, it points to what the Democrat's really are, reformers who are scumbags. The use of race to determine how you are going to prosecute, police, and sentence criminals is a direct attack on our way of live via the legal system. I totally agree, do nothing. Hey dickhead, he refused to deplane. An airline employee asks you to deplane that is a lawful order I don't care how many tickets you have. Then he refused to deplane when law enforcement asked him to deplane. Grabbing onto the seat back and squealing like a pig refusing to leave and then boarded again after being removed. This was not his house where he was sitting on the couch scratching his balls, but United's property. Anyone who refuses to leave the plane when asked by staff is a moron. How do you think it will end? They are just gonna shrug their shoulders and let a defiant passenger stay onboard. I don't think so. And then he screams racism! He is targeted because he is of Chinese origin. Here we go again. Total show put up by the unstable doctor. I would never see a doctor who behaves like that and his medical license should be suspended for being unstable. Only people that see Aviation police as being fools are leftist liberals who are crying about their rights at every opportunity. This is what the outcome should be in a law and order society. If you refuse an order you should suffer consequences. The doctor should be charged federally and then with resisting an officer. Show this fucked up world that you can't do whatever you want whenever you want.

And P.S, The crew is more important than the passengers. Without them your ass would not get off the ground! Airlines have to reposition crews all the time for a multitude of reasons and if they could have not gotten this crew where it had to be it would have caused a snowball effect of cancellations at different airports. It's not like they were sending the crew ton a vacation. Now just shut up, eat your peanuts and obey the orders.

My guess is that if we do it your way, we are standing in the aisle acting like hostage negotiators until we can talk him off the plane. Or we just leave, and let United deal with the problem which gets us sued and fired. If DoA brass didn't check with the Feds before sending a local officer onto a plane (it being within Feds' jurisdiction), then they're sad fools. I hope that, if I'd been at that desk, I'd have thought of begging the Feds to send an Agent to "supervise".
Bottom line, you are a passenger and asked to leave, you pick up your stuff and you leave. You take it up with the airline at the counter, not on the airplane. The safest times to fly sadly were the times right after 9/11. No one questioned gate agents, the flight crew or anyone at safety checks. Everyone sat on their seats quietly and appreciative of all airline employees. Now we have all forgotten those times and become assholes again. What if it was a terrorist that slipped into the plane and now was asked to deplane by the ground staff. He held onto the seat back screaming for being removed because of racism and just because of that was left there because we do not want to hurt somebody's feelings. Would you like to be on that flight? Airplanes are the last places you want fucked up people to be on board. You can't handle the rules on the plane you need the GrayHound.

Reminds me years ago out west we had an organ donor get in a fight with his wife on the Interstate as the were going over the river. Organ Donor grabs his infant child and begins dangling him over the river and then back on the bridge. We get called the Interstate gets shut down and Organ Donor continues his bullshit with the child. SWAT arrives the sniper sets up and when Brain Donor brings the kid back over the bridge his brain flys out of the back of his head courtesy of a .308 round. How would you handle a protestor, that needed to be removed from an area, that went dead weight on you? If a business in your district calls 911 to report a customer refusing to leave; is not trespassing now? If he refuses your order to leave are you going to put hands on him by yourself? or call for backup? Are you going to just leave the customer there because he won't comply with your orders or the businesses orders? I THINK NOT!! FYI , When you go to criminal trespass call you need signed complaints by the 'victim' and there has to actually be an element of criminal trespass involved. Here you just have a guy who refused to leave because he was disobeying a shitty airline company policy purely based on economics AFTER he had paid his fee and the company still did not render services. He's not criminally trespassing so much as just being a pain in the ass. If this was such a breach of FAA security regulations and unlawful why didn't a U.S. Air Marshal or TSA police step in and arrest said individual for breaking the law?? Instead he gets booted bouncer style. Not good for you if you were there and call yourself a police officer. Use of force was essentially used for enforcement on a non criminal act of breaching private company policy?? Wow. Now if you want get on your high horse of " lawful order"' by a flight staff member like some idiot former poster on this thread and play who is mas macho good luck with that. The airline has already profusely publicly apologized for their conduct. Guess they figure 1k of forfeiting seats is nothing compared to thousands in a possible lawsuit and potential negative image which is gonna hurt them bad. You need to reread the statute. Trespassing is entering the property of another without permission OR remaining on the property once permission to be on the property has been withdrawn and notice given.
The airline had an unexpected crew shortage and needed to shuttle crew to continue flight operations.
