To be fair, it may not have been an actual teacher putting up the sign. But it was undoubtedly seen by dozens of teachers, hundreds of students, and approved by the principal - none of whom noticed the error which stayed up all week and the following week, too.

Meh! The custodian ran out of letters while affixing the message. Other employees, knowing full well that the janitorial staff had equipment shortfalls, decided it was best to keep quiet about it.
And let's face it: it's not like numerous national and international news services, newspapers, magazines, and yes, even SCC, haven't committed similar spelling errors (respectively) from time to time. Proofreading is indeed a lost art!

It is a shame to think of all the kids that are getting robbed of an education by a school where even the most basic skills for a good future are (apparently) not taught. Working downtown, I see more CPS graduates working menial jobs because they don't have even the basics of a good education. As of 2015, CPS spent $15,000 average per student and just look at the results - corruption (and community attitude) is robbing each of those kids of a future.
We could blame Rauner for the racist budget against CPS...if they could afford to but a few letters they could actually spell appreciation !!! Now you know why The mayor doesn't send his kids to a public school system.

I don't know, most of you coppers shouldn't be one to talk when it comes to spelling and grammar. Don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but there are some pretty embarrassing case reports out there.

My parents absolutely busted their behinds to send us all to Catholic schools, yet CPS "graduates" (aka atom splitters) still get the preferential option. Wow. Although, if we (Catholic school kids) were to sue citing possible discrimination then that would make us racist??? Hmm, give me a second I'm trying to rationalize this progressive logic. Wait, I forgot....I actually have a brain which only enables me to employ reasonable and cogent thoughts. Thanks St. Ignatius!! It's ok because the kid who went to Bogan will still get promoted over me since it's only fair, you know, because mommy and daddy were too lazy to work hard and didn't care to spend the money on sending their offspring to receive a decent education. I guess driving a Chrysler 300 is more important.
