Due to a recent uptick in shootings, we will be conducting traffic missions on [x] watches.
These missions will be concentrated in the areas known to be frequented by the following gangs - Gang A, Gang B, Gang C. Mission parameters are as follows: (list borders.) As the shootings are occurring during the hours of ????-0000 hours, the following beats/mission cars/tactical teams will be held down, [no early ducks]. Special emphasis will be on compliance violations, but not exclusively. Attached is a list of vehicles known to be used in previous shootings.
Officers will comply with all laws, ordinances and directives when developing reasonable suspicion and probable cause to curb and cite vehicles. Officer safety is paramount and discretion to be used as determined by the officers/supervisors on this mission.
If something like this was written, the ACLU could go pound sand instead of pounding coppers' asses. The borders are determined by crimes committed, the cars stopped are determined by previous shootings and easily observable violations, there is no quota and discretion is encouraged so as not to hammer decent people who just happen to have a headlight out.

He had plenty of time to stand up and voice his concerns to Loretta Lynch/DOJ when she was addressing the command staff in the multi-purpose room. when you go to " promotion parties" and " retirement parties" for the merit hacks you only make the problem worse. I could never do any work for a multiple merit promotee and would never attend and pay for a ticket to one of their events. I worked in HQ for a few short years and ran a retirement party for a deputy chief, not a merit and a really good guy ( I am going back a few years). I called around and asked various exempts if they would like to be on the retirement committee and have their name on the announcement poster. The response of just about everyone who I spoke to? Why yes, please put my name on the poster and send me two complimentary tickets ( one for myself and one for my secretary/diver/girlfriend). When I told them no complimentary tickets they were miffed. Screw them
I also heard that the commander of the 025th district is harassing a 2nd watch female officer that works the desk by sending her on a 3 day administrative detail with over 20 yrs. on the job and also rejecting her evaluation and threatening to put her back on the streets if she files a grievance against him . he's such a good guy. why !!!

I thought about not going to St Jude for 012 because E.K. is like cancer. Then I thought about Brian Strouse and what a wonderful person he was. I'll go for him and ignore the jagbag that is our cimmander.
I'm not bragging but I've taken more #1's in the alleys and abandoned houses of our city than any other copper. In some not so proud moments,I've even taken a few #2's.
I won't use my name because I've never been much of a speller, but I am smart enough to pass most of the elearning by the 3rd try.
I still enjoy the job, although there are some challenging days. Mostly, I try to remember that some of the worst days will make for an amusing story down the line.
I have the scars to prove my profound career; tearing down the jets by my lonesome, storming the beach in Normandy, and that lightsaber battle with Vader.
Except for those few moments here and there, I try not to take myself or the job too serious. Although we do face some rough hazards by our career choice, we do get to witness some funny and absurd shit both on the street and from the shit show of a department.
The most courageous and selfless acts I have witnessed in my life have been those by fellow coppers and usually without recognition. For all the pitfalls, I feel lucky to been able to work with many terrific people and wild characters.
If you have extra money to blow make sure you spend some of it on a benefit for someone who can use a hand.

I respectfully disagree here. It's not that they become bad people, it is that they were bad people all along but did not have the platform to be seen. I have worked for many bosses who were good at what they did and were natural born leaders.
Tony Escamilla and many other exempts were promoted for a variety if reasons. Hard work and know how were not among those reasons. Tony in particular is an arrogant know it all who doesn't have much in the way of intelligence. He has a lot of company in that regard.
Never in my considerable time on the job have I personally seen so many incompetent people put in charge, and most of them are truly impressed with themselves despite any accomplishments to show for it. They are delusional and they make horrible leaders. Coppers can work for a dolt, as long as he knows he's a dolt and lets the good sergeants, lieutenants and captains run the place. When you work for an arrogant buffoon, all you want is to see him fall. You may even assist in that fall.
Why don't our elected officials see what is so very easy to understand. Too much merit is poison. How about one bite at the apple. It's easy to do and prevents disasters like Escamilla and so many others.
The union should at the least release a statement regarding this. According to them this guy has caused a backlog of grievances because of his policies. Where there is smoke there is fire....actually it is past that point and the district is in flames

While I hope it doesn't happen, if someone gets killed in a domestic in the 10 or 20 sector because of the constant backlog, that is a result of the 30 sector getting preferential treatment, the media better get notified ASAP. Because you know the CPD brass will try to spin it and blame the patrolmen.
It's actually embarrassing to work for such a gaggle of political hack fools. In the private sector, just about all these exempt ass licking hacks would get no further than the loading dock. Remember, always vote democrat for more of the same.

I think skipping the parade is a poor decision, it is there to show respect to the gold star families. If you would like to show your displeasure for the commander, show up and just walk with a different district. Heck you could even check in with your own district then just casually walk away and join another district for the march.

I hear you and I agree however there are many different ways to pay your respects to the fallen.
However you work midnights and don't have to deal with this jagoff as much as 2nd and 3rd watch does.
By officers not going it will embarrass him everyone hates him and we need to keep the pressure on don't worry all the kiss asses who work inside or want something from him will be there it's not like no ones going.

It's sad but true Saint Judes has changed. For the POs and some Sgts and a few Lts it's about the fallen. But for jerk bosses it's about themselves just like every thing else. We should also be marching on Michigan Ave for all to see. Every other jerk group is allowed to. Also why the hell are we still marching at 8am? How about 11am or even 10am? A lot more people would come out to support us. Maybe that's what the city wants. Minimal support. 8am Sunday morning hidden behind a football stadium and hills is ridiculous. Sgt Nick O was in trouble his entire career and should have been fired a dozen times. That's one of the problems with this Department, we don't take out the trash nearly enough. I know the union can't pick and choose who to defend. That is the double edged sword we have.
I never did understand why other coppers defend guys that make us all look bad. Some people are just habitual fuck ups. Some people are all about themselves. Some people are bad. It's like we always tell the people that hang around the gangbangers, your presence is support. Speak out about these goofs. Isolate them . Alienate them. Don't make their lives any easier.
Bigden didn't "turn them in", he just walked in on them, which was hysterical by the way. Word was already out and the higher ups did their job. A refreshing change.
