Out On Bail Again?
Does anyone else think the lamestream media will ever get tired of sitting on stories like this? Does anyone else think the citizens might eventually catch on? DNAInfo.com is realizing there are stories here:
- The armed man who carjacked a Dodge Durango in the South Loop last month was free on bond for a pending gun case at the time, prosecutors said Friday. Phillip Smith, 25, is accused of carjacking a 2014 Dodge Durango about 3:30 a.m.
April 11 in a "bump and run" attack in the 600 block of South Wabash Avenue, court records show. Police believe Smith was armed with a silver handgun.
At the time of the attack, he was free on bond for a pending 2016 gun case, court records show. Bail was set in that case at $75,000 in September; Smith posted $7,500 (the requisite 10 percent needed to go free) by December.
Another low bond, courtesy of Dart, Prickwrinkle and Evans, another violent crime committed by someone that should have been sitting in County.

Speaking of Dart did anyone see preview of 60 minutes airing tonight. He amazingly said over half his jail population should be freed/"don't belong in prison".. IG report three years ago stated 76% of CC jail inmates have been accused of committing a violent act and 89% are accused or have committed violent act in past.. So that means Dart wants child rapists, Robbers, Gang members, freed?? Has that guy completely lost his mind. You don't even see Preckwinkle or Foxx making insane statements like that.
Chicago gun laws are laughable. Try this: go on Amazon and try to buy a plastic toy gun (with red plastic tip) and you'll find they won't ship it to Chicago because of gun laws. But a thug with a real gun can get a low bond and be out thuggin again.....

There was a shooting last night at Zachary's on Milwaukee. Granted, nothing ever good comes from going to a 4 o'clock bar but this is getting bad up here. The Slumtimes article said Napolitano voted against Emmanuel more than any alderman. Is that because he was fire/police? Just a quick comment, retired for 22yrs. and at least a few times a week I read the Second City Cop, just to see all the new policy's hampering law enforcement and how this is effecting my families safety, because they still live in the shithole city. I live in Kankakee County 12 miles west of 57. I was getting gas the other day and our County Police arrested one of the released Cook County punks for carrying a gun. Second City Cop for me, is the pulse of what is going on not only in Chicago, but the collar County's. These armed criminal are all over the place, and thanks to President Bush for signing the bill that allows ex-coppers like me to carry a gun anywhere in the U.S. I'm still a wheel gun guy, and carry a three inch 45 long colt with two speed loaders. I can drive a mile from where I live and practice shooting skills any day of the week. These are hard times for the police and not I'm not trying to be be corny, but I add you guys to my prayers every night. Be safe and take care of each other.

Off topic. I just watched a video of Vice President Pence doing the commencement address at Notre Dame, and a large group of the students walking out during his address. If that was my son or daughter that disrespected anyone like that I would kick their ass so bad they would wish they were back in grade school. To do this to a President or V.P. is beyond imagination. Where the fuck are the parents, oh wait, the parents probably graduated from Berkley or Harvard and have yet to learn good manners, Fuck all of you. Smith has been dodging his court dates and refusing to stop his vehicle when 015 th district squads have attempted to pull him over for the last few weeks. Smith is aware that cpd can not chase offenders of forcible felonies under any circumstances . Smith thought cpd was attempting to arrest him for a homicide of a gd in 010 smith kilt in revenge for his dead homie Dukka who was ironically murdered on the corner of congress and central after being released early by idoc on a uuw conviction. If dukka had served his full sentence or 50% of it he would still be alive and in the words of the mayor an aspiring young artist.

Can anyone tell me why the bond rules haven't been changed to a higher rate, particularly for gun or other violent crimes? If the bond rate shot up from the normal 10% to a much scarier 50% perhaps some criminals would at least leave the gun at home before committing the crime.
Is there something keeping the rate at 10% or allowing an armed robber to bond out at the same rate as a DWI or other lesser offense? It would seem to me that if there is a large issue with gun related crime you would make it harder on the offenders that have guns. I don't know, maybe this has been discussed and rejected as racist somehow.
