Surf's Up!
Our semi-regular series of building issues in the Department. Today, Area 2:
Someone is going to get crushed to death by this paperwork. And if you look down the other way:
It's a giant slip-n-slide. Good thing all the paperwork is stacked in the hallways to absorb any stray tsunamis that might appear. We certainly hope that none of that is for any pending homicide cases, otherwise, the clearance rate might dip below 15%.
Labels: general, we got nothing

Ha you should see the detectives shower stall, it has it's own file cabinet right inside of it.
Those are the files Lt. Walsh from Koschman fame found in his living room cabinet, they had to have a team of former CPD bosses collect it and bring it to the furthest south facility in an effort of hiding it, and then the DOJ came in and said no more shredding so it has been sitting there ever since. The great part is nobody recalls which or how many boxes came out of his house.
I actually think they were sent there because his cousin works here as the XO.
No money to fix the leaks but DePaul needs a new arena. That's a very high-tech filing system too. Is it any wonder a file, such as the Kotchman case, can simply disappear for a few years?
All buildings have minor deficiencies. These appear to be poor housekeeping.
Are those the boxes that were being hidden from the DOJ??
Send in the A team to clean that up. COL. Hannibal Smith will seek in with face, BA Barak-ass and destroy the powers to be. SHUT UP FOOL, DONT GIVE ME NO BACK TALK.
Papers, what papers? We don't need no stinin papers.
Wet paper smells badly.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
DONT worry those files have plenty of victims social security numbers, work info, address, cell #'s.
See the city forgets that a federal law regulates handling person personal data.
Don't forget officers your family and yourr work info can be in reports too if they were victims.
Boxes of paper were piling up like that in my unit a while back. Every day, I told the custodian to take a few boxes out and put them in the dumpster. In a few weeks, the room was empty, and nobody noticed, or asked about it.
That is the New definition of "proactive police work"...
It's amazing how much paper can be generated in a paperless system.
Are those case files? I thought that when the CHRIS system come online, weren't we supposedly to be paperless?
Looks like there is still a way to go.
If any of those boxes contain HIPPA protected material (aka medical records, PMI), someone should have a lot of explaining to do, and City get the pocketbook out for the ilks of L&L.
I once looked inside one of the boxes and found the missing Bradley sisters.
Every time I walk by one of those boxes I pop one open. I grab a stack of papers and I read them out loud at roll call. Great study material. That's how I scored number 7 on the detectives list.
Now put this into perspective: the "janitors" that work in area south have free reign over every room, hallway, locker room, etc.. AND they ALL have criminal back grounds.. if I was a good defense attorney, I would use these pics and the aforementioned to tear apart any serious crime that is charged in Area south... question:are all files secured, and only attainable by authorized personnel ?? Answer: well, um, I think so... yeah sure they are!!
Lol
This building has several engineers. They have an office on top floor. It's usually locked so they sit in there getting drunk. Only time they come out is when they have to leave. In summer they go out on the roof and bbq and have parties. That's why shit is always broken in that building.
Buckets, pails or trash cans set out to catch leaking water is not poor housekeeping, you fool.
I thought we were paperless?????
I wonder what type of toxic sludge is oozing out over there. The stuff dripping out of ceiling doesn't look too good either.
All buildings have minor deficiencies. These appear to be poor housekeeping.
-----A so called "world class" police department in 2017 shouldn't look like this. You think mayor twinkle toes would allow a mess like that within his orbit of existence? You think if there was a leak above his office desk that he'd allow a bucket to sit and collect water for months on end? You think mold growing up the walls in these public facilities is a minor deficiency? I guess for all the serfs these working conditions are acceptable. But that little napoleonic psych case couldn't sit his candy ass anywhere near those "deficiencies".
The DOJ order that no paperwork, no matter how insignificant not be shredded. So now it sits, indefinitely.
Aren't all those boxes a building code violation. Blocking access in the event of a emergency. Call the city building inspectors
Looks like last periods Suspended Files.
Did anyone find a boxed wedding dress somewhere in that stack?
Is any of that paperwork from the Koschman case?

Remember this?
"You can use your PDT to acknowledge and clear
jobs/relay information... That will help cut
down on radio traffic."
Then the H/Q brain trust got all pissy:
"You guys have to come over the radio
or else..."

Did they still have the price tags on them from when mom sold them?
It's still beats the Deuce with all the vagrants flopped out in the lobby. I assume and hope with summer around the corner they will leave the lobby?

This 100% true
I kind of like it. I would love to see my humper from the late 90's (get some time on the job, kid)
Do you remeber those? I believe there were 3 spots for people you arrested that tour.
But only six spots for jobs, including ones you rode on.
I'd like to meet the crime fighter who thought we were making almost as many pinchesw as jobs we were assigned.
Still stupid, still my job.
Yet, I remain, THE Chicago Police. (BTW those humpers were in triplicate with carbon paper)

Hey 10:11 A.M.
You forgot to mention the civilian "shoe shine guy"..he to has free reign of the building!!
Never saw a humper in triplicate with carbon paper, just a copy with the smell of ink , member that

I remember that people would have a lunch ticket or a traffic stop etc. on the screen for when the zone called their beat, they pushed the send button before they got the job..... Slick!
I remember the move from 11th and state to 35th and mich. I dont know how many records got lost just in the ident. section alone
Good Idea to leave those boxes there. The paper will soak up the water that leaks when it rains.
Genius...!
Look - the boxes of rahm's hand written IOUs has finally surfaced!

Hey! Leave the shoe sign guy alone! Hes the only one who approves my special employment.
They actually moved the 10 or so broken chairs out of the way to take the picture. The chairs line the other side of the wall. Chief was told in person about it 2 months ago.
The shoe shine guy has the code to enter the back door. He also takes notifications from officers. "put down Charles as notified. Nobody is coming out."
Now Outside, Lookin In, Says:
idiot Merit, Quota, and hack Detectives who cannot solve crimes with dismal citywide clearance rates
overweight, afraid College Twerps without a clue out in the streets trying to play in the big Leagues of crimefighting
Political hack bosses with lots of useless, fake credentials, who kickback part of their salaries to Rahm and the Commiecrats as Leaders
Best Cops retiring asap because they have hated the job for over a decade and can't stand it any longer
Totally burnt out from political circus bullshit Cops just hanging on till retirement and hoping it will still be there for them.
Cop-hating States Attorney who would rather jail the police than hardened criminals
Crooked mayor, Judges and Aldermen
City, County, and State going broke from theft, mismanagement.
Mayor who strips Retiree benefits while rewarding freeloading, useless, career Welfare Recipient parasites instead.
And they wonder why things are all effed up......
