after the three guys getting charged with this McDonald shooting today we all need to finally come together. YES I am an extremely proactive officer still. I still stop people and do work... although much more cautiously than in the past. With that being said, enough is enough. We all need to stop!!! I don't mean strike. DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: make arrests, write ANOVs, write ISR reports, stop people for traffic offenses or street stops, write movers or write parkers and last but not least NO VRI, CTA, CHA OR SPECIAL OR ANY KIND!!!! I love how all the old school vets love to talk about being fetal yet they work every day off they have on special, VRI or CTA. I'm not saying we have to do this permanently but for at least a week? two weeks? month? A message has to be sent clear as day to the city, county, states attorney, citizens and everyone else that we are not punching bags. We need to come up with a day where everything stops. I propose that NOBODY sign up for the new VRI list that begins on July 1st. Scabs need to be dealt with that are on the rosters. Starting July 1st no more activity weather you are in patrol, tac team, traffic unit, NARCOTICS AND GANGS!! anyone. don't do anything starting JULY 1st and NO VRI! No parkers "just for vri" or anything. No curfews nothing!!! JULY 1st! I have no doubt that this will not become a trend because nobody on this job can do anything together. Nothing but typical greedy know it all coppers who talk talk talk but are the first in line with a tin cup in their hand in the VRI line. spread this and make it something. Post it in stations, fax it to other stations and units. put a stack of this on tables at roll call JUST DO IT!!! DO NOTHING. Remember units, if you don't do anything collectively they cant dump the whole unit. They might screw with you a little bit but toughen up... And if your supervisors screw with you about something like this then maybe you are working in the wrong place and for the wrong people...

If Foxx ASA attorneys have overloaded case loads, why cant Tom Dart's 140 attorneys on his payroll step in and help. If the Sheriff is going to run a patronage machine he should at least make his Attorneys do some work and stop their 3 hour lunches in Chinatown and Hog Wild.

The State's Attorney of Pulaski County has announced that a man has been sentences to prison after an incident involving a correctional officer.
The sentence arose out of an incident which occurred in May of this year, wherein Jose Lira-Cruz, age 20, a citizen of Mexico, spit on a correctional officer at Pulaski County Detention Center where he was being held as a federal detainee.
On June 28, Lira-Cruz was sentenced to two years incarceration in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of aggravated batter
