Great Save

  • Two Chicago Police officers were able to save a premature newborn’s life Monday by using CPR.

The officers, Mark Palazzolo and Maritza Bautista, were called to a house near the 2300 block of South Lawndale Avenue, where a 26-year-old woman had called 911 to say her baby was not breathing after she gave birth in the 34th week of pregnancy.

The woman, whom Bautista said “was horrified,” gave birth to the baby in her basement, and the umbilical cord was still attached, the officers said during a news conference Tuesday afternoon at the Ogden Police District. When Palazzolo called Chicago Fire Department paramedics about the unresponsive infant, the officer was told to remove the umbilical cord before performing CPR.

[...]The officers did CPR on the baby girl for four minutes until fire rescuers arrived and took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition has stabilized, Palazzolo said.
Very well done Officers.

Another pair of 'Chicago's Finest' on the job. The greatest compliment one can receive on the job is recognition by their peers. Those posting here are just a small sample of that 'true' recognition. Great job and thank you for your service, dedication and sacrifice on behalf of those who serve and have served in this noble profession. From our lips to God's ears... May your ultimate reward and recognition come from the Man himself for doing His work. God Bless and watch over all our fellow first responders. Happy and SAFE Father's Day.

God works in unexplained ways.
He put two of Chicago's Finest there at the right time and place.
Maybe, someday now that the baby can live and grow, she can become a fellow first responder, doctor or nurse and return the gift-of-life to someone else.
Yes, sometimes God works in unexplained ways.
Thanks you two for being part of that plan.

Great job, Officers! If it were within my authority, I'd give you both an extra day off to be with your families this week.

Pallazolo is a great copper. Never met his partner personally but they came together and did a phenominal job on this one. Take note mainstream media hacks! That trigger happy racist shoe doesnt fit..... were out there to help and protect good people. Sometime that involves hurting bad people. Hurting bad people has optics that are not pleasant to human sensitives most of the time.

In the mean time, felony review Under the "leadership" of Ms Fox let loose two more non compliant registerd child sex offenders. Soon to attempt another sodomy on a four year old in your neighborhood. Public and parents watch your kids because the Cook County States attorneys office simply ignore state statutes and don't care about the safety of your children, Attorney General Lisa Madigan why are you allowing this?
