Great Idea
This is from March, but any good idea means that it'll never happen here:
- San Luis Obispo (CA) residents got an up close and personal explanation about police use of force in their community as part of the city’s new Police Education and Community Engagement Program or PEACE.
Police Officers demonstrated and explained the split-second decisions they must make in the line of duty and what they consider to be “reasonable” use of force.
The presentation included police dashcam video of a recent encounter with a man armed with a knife.
In the police video, the suspect is seen ignoring commands to drop and the knife and continues to walk toward the first officer on scene who has his gun drawn and is prepared to open fire.
The Machine wants an ignorant populace at odds with the police, the better to channel the outrage against the cops and distract from the blatant corruption and thievery going on elsewhere.

Ehh.... exactly... go attack a cop, you will not face any business if you got Jamal's lawyer. They city might give you a settlement... win win for you... shit, if the cop reacts a certain way, he his shit canned and facing a slew of charges--- yay 😁
Cameras can be your friends.
They can be your enemy too.
Cameras just show what is in front of them.
Make sure all the cameras show your best.
Sounds Orwellian, is Orwellian.
Duplicity: it's not enough that police put their lives
on the line everyday and the pay don't justify the
risk, The Machine wants to use them as pawns
against a public they despise, create artificial
friction, and take their minds off performance
standards and living conditions. The cops provide
a distraction more efficient that The Professional
Sports Department because they are live and visible
24/7/365. That's right John Q. Public, the boys in blue
have been oppressing you, not The Machine.
The Public viewed "1984" as a stupid assignment for
High School English, often stating "what are they teaching
the kids today?", when little did they know it would unfold as
the blueprint for Modern Day Society.

Alderman Pawar told attendees at Arena's gubernatorial candidates forum that he wants to bring a low income high rise to the area around Welles Park before he is elected governor next year. He says that he knows the progressive spirit of the 47th Ward will welcome this.
CPD's done similar things with the media in the past, but the lessons don't last.
Besides, the newsies like to fan the flames in order to up the ratings.

No, not going to happen.
The Democrats need everyone to hate on the Poleeces.
It gets that certain demographic group out to the polls on Election Day.
This city will go up for grabs when JVD gets found not guilty.
Wow! Can they teach that here in conjunction with the CPS we hate the police class they offer
SLO is consistently rated one of the best places to live in USA.
Chicago, Cook County and Illinois are the laughing stock of the USA.
That program will never happen here.
Excuse me, SCC. They are going to educate the public. Did you forget about the classes being offered about Burge and his reign of terror? Maybe Kim Foxx will run for mayor.

ot post about kids carrying guns
It is a good idea but I'm sure some "police expert" would be hired by the media to pick it apart piece by piece.
Police Expert: " You see the Officer here is being repeatedly stabbed by this member of the community. The first thing he does is grab his gun and starts shooting! This is unnecessary and what we are trying to stop Officers from doing, blah, blah, blah..."
Dipsticks.

Welles Park welcomes diversity. They have a very nice rehab at Sunnyside and Damen. I don't want it in my pretty neighborhood though.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
This city will go up for grabs when JVD gets found not guilty.

Time for this goof Pawar to hit the unemployment line pronto!
"""The Machine wants an ignorant populace at odds with the police, the better to channel the outrage against the cops and distract from the blatant corruption and thievery going on elsewhere."""
Well...in their defense....they'd be 'ignant anyway.
Instead of spending money, union dues and other funds, on campaign donations, one would think that COMMERCIALS of this caliber could be made and aired - heck maybe the time spots could be public service announcements!
You know, spots where the viewer is asked "What should be done here?" What would YOU do in this situation? What is a police officer suppose to DO here?
It would be hard hitting, force people to think for themselves and step around the media's hype and conditioning tactics.
I would think ALL officers would want to direct their unions to spend funds on this over giving loot to more failed political candidates who don't produce anything but money gone anyways. Why not give it a try?
This fits in with Obama's 8 yrs. of pounding the police down. This fits the Demorat agenda of trying to turn this country socialist . Down the Police try to take firearms away. Just read Rules for Radicals the Demorat bible.
i thought Pawar ran on the platform that he was not a career politician. They all change when they get the taste for power. POS
Rahm, et al, Democrats keep focusing on corrupt racist white police and decades old traditions of some sort of "Code".
When you have a dunce for a Merit Supt that backs up the fairytale...The Dept becomes the punching bag.
The jughead clown needs a good boxing.
Rahm needs to be ousted along with PorkWinkie.
Stay fetal.
A note about SLO - it is a city isolated by geography, ocean on one side, hills on the others, and is a university town.
They also exiled their poor and most of their lower-educated blacks, hispanics, etc. by bypassing Cali property tax law (Prop 13, which fixes a max 2% annual increase in prop tax) in a major civic improvement bond issue (a not restricted "voluntary" tax increase) which raised home values, raised the cost of housing for retirees and the poor, which incentivized them to sell and move away.
Surrounding un-built-on land zoning restricts new homes to 1 house per 5 acres, and allows no more apartments.
SLO now has to pay to run buses to neighboring counties to import poor people to work low-wage jobs there.
That they have problems needing explanations of police action to their residents shows that in Cali, even upper-middle havens can not wall themselves away from the problems.
John in Indy
Why doesn't the FOP or other pro LE organization sponsor an event like San Luis Obispo?
SLO, CA is an elite coastal California town. Complete with decent college (Cal Polytech) that has a strong ROTC program.
Not even remotely comparable to Chicago...
What the public wants the Poleece to do is de-escalate. Ie.Turn around and run like hell and hide.
Years ago, like 30+, there was a TV special called the "National Deadly Force Test." A network got access to one of the early FATS training sets. Then they got a number of participants to do the scenarios. Some were the police. Most of them were anti-police community activists that thought the police were way too quick on the trigger and were trigger happy.
So the were given classroom instruction on deadly force laws. then to the screens.
One scenario is "Robbery in Progress"> On arrival a suspect is running from a quick mart, with the shopkeeper yelling "He robbed Me".
Most of the community activists started blasting away. The cop stopped and talked to the shopkeeper. Found out the kid was a known kid from the area that came in and stole candy. The expression of the Community activists face when they were told that if this were a real incident, they would be under arrest.
Some one in the area with video production skills and equipment needs to do something like this.
Could even make it into a TV game show. Instead of the stupid Bachlorette nonsense how Police on the Beat?
The winner gets a cash prize. The loser, anyone the that either gets killed or shoots the wrong time, gets canned.
I've spent some time in "SLO-Town", (San Luis Obispo). It's about midway between L.A. and San Fran. College is Cal Poly. Great place to live but somewhat expensive. Cheaper than Santa Barbara, San Jose, Silicon Valley and San Francisco. A few minutes drive toward the Pacific puts you in Morro Bay with Big Sur lying to the north along scenic Route 1.
Low crime, friendly people.
Slo is a great place to live expensive but less so then say San jose/San Fran. I would try working there if the post waver certification was easier to get.
Who voted for this goof in the first place?
