- Activists in Baltimore are attempting to promote a murder-free weekend by urging criminals to ditch their guns -- despite the failure of previous community ceasefires to curb violence.
Activist Erricka Bridgeford has been pushing her campaign for a violence-free weekend since May, and the idea has garnered support on social media. She and other activists are calling for a 72-hour ceasefire from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6.
"This is a city-wide call, asking Baltimore residents to celebrate life during the ceasefire," the event's website stated.
"This ceasefire is the product of Baltimore residents not only being exhausted by homicides, but believing that Baltimore can have a murder-free weekend if everyone takes responsibility."

Talking and marches will not change anything. The urban terrorists could care less. Throwing them in jail only reunites them with their homies but it does take them off the street. Need a leader willing to fight the ACLU because stop and frisk and random car stops will at least slow this down.

You can't make this stuff up anymore. Suddenly, in a sharp right turn, the community/society wants to "celebrate life" this weekend? But only for 72 hours, then they go back to normal, celebrating death for the rest of the year.
Only in our pro-abortion, pro-murder society would we ask the community to take a short break from murder...because it has become normal!
After reading this, I realized society has now reached the tipping point!

The same activists march, rant and rave and riot when the police do their job, and now they want to appeal to the criminals "softer" side and not shoot anyone, for one weekend. OT: Check out the real big story coming from Baltimore. 3 Baltimore PD tac guys are caught on their body cam planting dope then turning the body cam on. Too bad it recorded 30 seconds before. Just enough to catch all 3 officers and put their faces and names all over the news and Youtube. Thanks. In the eyes of the public the billions spent on police body cams just proved worth it.
Most likely...they actually found the dope while searching and decided to put on a good show for the camera and make it into an airtight case. Most definitely...they're going to be made an example of, do some serious prison time and all their past arrests will be overturned.

This reminds me of the old days, when I was a kid listening to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, and family would beg for me to stop listening to it, to change my life for the better. I looked at these old fogies as, well, old fogies, and thought "hell if I'm putting down the Walkman..."
Can't help but think that today's "utes" probably look at old fogies approximately the same way I did. Except today they have guns, which they're shooting indiscriminately at their "rivals". When they're not using their little children as cover. Or selling drugs on the corner. Or looting and rioting.
A "violence-free weekend". How quaint. My parents were right. This is all Iron Maiden's fault.
Baltimore is ninety miles from President The Donald 's White House. I'm President The Donald 's laughter about this can be heard over that span.
Ditch the guns is what got them INTO this, more of it is not going to get them out.
It is almost laughable to look at Baltimore, as it is with Chicago, and see the Blind Spot a MILE WIDE when it comes to this point. Gun Control LED TO THIS madness. Hiding guns away led to this mess, blaming the guns, instead of the people who abuse them for nefarious purposes, led to this. Disarming everybody else by making gun carriage a pitfall laden proposition led to this. Yes, cops arresting people for the tiniest infractions ALSO led to this.
Getting 'the community' to stand up and point the finger of blame at itself is a good start, but it takes more than platitudes and work out gun control dogma to put a end to this. It takes putting the right brutal criminal sin jail - or in the ground- forever and it also takes admission that gun control has to be put 6 feet under as well.
War takes many forms, but it always plays out eventually when one seeks to oppress another. This is what gun control is - oppression. Government has oppressed the people by doing that which it is prohibited from doing. Government has engaged in redistributing wealth as well, once disarming was accomplished in large measure. Welfare Wars have resulted. People got the idea they were owed something for free, and well here we are - they take it and folks CAN'T defend themselves without being labeled as a criminal for doing so.
It is gonna take some plain admissions well beyond this to put a end to this war that IS ongoing. Regardless, this is a start. Ending the "blame whitey" is as good a place to start as any.

I think the Rev Al Sharpton and Fr. Faker should rent an apartment together in the worst section of Baltimore ( which most likely is pretty much all of Baltimore) in an attempt to stop the violence. If Chicago had the murder rate of Baltimore or St. louis we would exceed 1500 killings a year.

Well I for one believe it is going to work, and then and then it will grow to a week and then a month and finally there will be peace in Baltimore forever.
