Underwood Hearing Tomorrow
So tomorrow, there's going to be some sort of announcement at Court about the Underwood v City lawsuit that gives some form of Healthcare to anyone hired before 2003. The latest FOP newsletter has an extensive explanation of the classes of covered employees and amounts.
One question though:
One question though:
- If the City is going to be allowed to go back to the 1985 rules and payments, then shouldn't the officers be allowed to go back to the 1985 payments also? After all, what's fair is fair, right?
And if we recall correctly, the Officers share in 1985 was....zero.

No, no, no. You get the Chicago 2085 Patrol Officer Retiree Benefits.
They include a Free Treatment at the Glorious Democratic "Work is Freedom" Socialist Spa and Euthanasia center upon retirement or disability. All your troubles will be over!
What is wrong with your retiree health care choices? We have the super wonderful Obamacare UnAffordable Health Care Act!
You can keep your doctor!
Your premium will be $2500 less.
We are all going to get Multi-Cultural Health Care.
You get more choices that way. Next time you are sick, you can either get a Communist Chinese Village Acupuncturist, an African Village Doctor, or a consultation with Dr. Kevorkian. These will be your only choices, you jack-booted, fascist police oppressor of the people!
You should be happy with your choices the People have granted you!
2005 hire...missed by two years???...thought I was last of the old........
Yeah, I know what a street stop is...wft lets hear it ...i'm first.....now whats isr?
Excellent point ZERO for Life...
2004, thought we were under the old comtracts
Sounds like Scrooge is in charge of healthcare.
Seeing eye dogs instinctively escort the blind
to the opposite side of the street when they
observe Rahm on the sidewalk.
hired on in the early 70's......after tomorrow, can I afford to buy something other than cat food?
1985 was a great year.
I agree with the respondent who said 1985 healthcare rates $0 per month. But is out pension really same with mayor Emmanuel at the helm, I read an article that stated the pension system needed 1.3 billion in pension payment by 2023 and here you have the pompous bold face liar taking money out of one project and putting it into another behind closed doors. God on
Y know what deals he is making now to avoid making pen
Nsion payments. Teachers should be making pension payments of 9% also instead of the current 2% that's BS so they don't have a right to complain about their pension if they won't pay their fair share into it.
Conundrum: Aetna retirement plan is better than what the city's was about the same cost as last year of that plan. It can be cancelled by Aetna at any time since it is not in a contract with the city. Then you are back in the hunt for insurance.
A plan with the city, should we win, will, theoretically, be a CONTRACT that gives peace of mind, even if not quite as good as the Aetna plan.
What to do, that is the question?
Rahmietown
(With apologies to Billy Joel)
🎵So we're living here in Rahmietown
Where they're tearing Cook County Jail down
Up in Lake View there's a surge in crime
The rats from the hood, hop on the Red Line
The pension value's dropping through the floor
Makes you wonder just what you're working for
The connected types keep using their clout
While others without, should get the fuck out
Now we're trapped right here in Rahmietown
Where the lawlessness has doubled down
And it's getting very hard to stay . . .
Well we're waiting here in Rahmietown
For the decent life that we never found
Believing promises the contract made
We did our part, when do we get paid?
All the commendations hang on the wall
But they never really helped much at all
The politicians lie with a straight face
Every single word they say, all in bad faith
And still we're waiting here in Rahmietown
Where the city's about to come crashing down
As the taxpayers start moving away . . .
Last year, almost 4400 people got shot
It's always worse when the weather gets hot
The elite really like to rub it in your face
The white middle class is being replaced
Why are you still living here in Rahmietown?
They keep kicking you when you're already down
And you won't be getting up today . . .
(Guitar solo)
Time to pack up and move far away
It's time to wave goodbye to Rahmietown
The Chicago Way has graduated fully. To combat you being fetal, your insurance is now set up to where your office visits can only be arranged by pulling your doctor over in a street stop. Retirees will have to partner up with someone no the job now to do a Doctor Stop. By golly, they will correct your fetality one way or the other -eve if they gotta mess with your healthcare some more to do it!
Back to reality now.
Do you guys understand that it will only get worse until health insurance its separated from employment altogether? Until what the employer pays to insurance companies is put in your paycheck as pay and you get your own insurance policy like you do for your car or house or motorcycle or boat, it will only get worse.
Imagine the cost reductions there would be if you just got that roughly 2 grand a month in your paychecks, AND the less costs to the City to no longer have have to fool with docking your checks and even ending all these arguments about it all!!!
The funny part? People will get tickets from cops for letting their mandatory health insurance expire due to non payment, and tickets will be written by cops over driving without health insurance. ha ha ha. Yeah maybe insurance industry and isn't the only thing in need of revemaping.
"insurance"
The Cook Co Judiciary made a spectacle of the "share the wealth" Sugar Pop PorkWinkles tax...in short order.
If that was any indication then forget about getting anything for free, unless you're a deadbeat, never earned a W-2, EBT holding freeloader.
Rahm really placed all his chips on obama-hillary to carry him thru the rapidly failing and expensive healthcare pyramid scam.
There's money for Navy Pier, unneeded stadiums, hotels and an entire obama village book house museum infrastructure that is getting zero resistance or scrutiny from City Hall.
Take care of retirees as promised?
Ha!
I wonder, does a retired AlderThief still get free healthcare?
so in 85 the officers share was 0. THen the 86 class was the first to begin paying into Medicare? So a group from about 1970-1986 did not pay into Medicare? But cops prior to that did?
My question: the 1965 cops who paid into Medicare, what kind of medical did they get through the city?
You are correct SCC.
I came on in 87 and my healthcare at that time was completely covered by the city.
I had ZERO deducted from my paycheck for it.
Then they started with " it's only $2.00 per check......"
This is about step three in a 5 step process. The case winds up in the Illinois Supreme Court when is all over.
Boy you should see the sweet deal all these Congressional assholes and their aids get for life. We risk our ass's for 30 years protecting these worthless Demokrats and what do we get? We get it right in the ass thats what we get.
They are all fucking thieves.
That article in the FOP magazine was the only useful thing in it. What a rag. The president's article was horrible. Nice work with the big font though!!!
Sending all retirees ti Carousel.

You're not close to being the "last" of anything unless you still carry a wheel gun.
You are correct. Came on in 87 and it was free to all employees. Then a short time later they hit us all and asked us to contribute $1. Yes, $1 a paycheck for an individual, $2 for an employee and spouse and $5 a paycheck for the family plan. The rat bastards did an end run and bullshitted the Union into agreeing to ask us to do it. What's a dollar??? Well look what a dollar is now! Just look what a dollar has exploded to! They opened the door, we spoke to them through the crack and they kicked the fucking thing in. NEVER LET THEM IN. $1? No,fuck you. .50? NO! Fuck you! .10 and more retro? NO! F U C K Y O U !!

There were no cops that paid into Medicare in 1965. I came on 27 September 1965 and NEVER paid into Medicare Medicare was not paid by po's until 1986 and any officer who came on prior did not have to pay into Medicare. I don't know where you got your information but it wasn't like they paid in 1986, but didn't from 1970 to 1986, but paid prior to 1970
The 1965 cops never paid in because Medicare wasn't signed into law until 1965 and we were exempted from paying in
OT. but sort of important. There has not been much info on the nominees for the pension board replacement for mike lappe. What's the deal on the 4 candidates. Know info on shields but the other three not so much. Which one is the FOP backing, the one Lappe is backing etc. would like some info if possible. Thanks
I worked with Mike Underwood in the early 90's before he retired. He want exactly a fireball, but he led the watch in bus checks! (his words, not mine!)
That being said, I'm glad this lawsuit went through. We got hosed on health care!
Chicago is now a third world country thanks to rahmie and taxwinkle.
Heard this today: NFL knows most of its players smoke
marijuana, so it lets players know in advance that all
players will be tested, like on June 1st, so they have time
to get clean in advance. Only an annual test is required
unless you tested positive in the past.
Problem is with players previously positive. They can be
tested at random, anytime during the year.
NFL is big business so the yearly test is announced more
than 30 days in advance to give everyone time to get clean.
Queue Pink Floyd music, "Money."
WTF!! After saying Friday was his last day before going on IOD, Bubblehead shows up today and is all over the radio making sure we all know he's still in charge. Is this a mind-fuck game he's playing with us all?
Everyone should read this every single morning noon and night... this is gospel

This is EXACTLY what happened to my family when Obamadoesntcare was passed. Hubs works for a very small business. This small biz used to buy us insurance on the private market (its too small to have its own group plan). Obamacare made that illegal (employer can't pay for private health plans anymore). Now hubs gets the health insurance premium cost as part of his pay, which bumped us up a tax bracket. Now I have even less budget money because the gov't is stealing a chunk of what the employer gave us to buy healthcare plus a bigger chunk of his total pay. To make it even better, the plan we bought isn't ACA compliant (all of the ACA plans had insane deductibles and out of pockets that would bankrupt us if we had to use them) so we also get to pay a $1700 penalty at tax time.
Everytime one of the bloviating gov't windbags starts prosing on about how they are helping the common man I want to puke. They've screwed my family six ways to Sunday with their "help", the two timing mouthbreathing weasels. They all deserve to rot in hell, and I hope they do.
They won't be happy until they have bankrupted the middle class and forced us all into their plantation of gov't dependency.
60 Mins filming outside at HQ and IAD any idea what's going on? Can't be good.
Does this ruling now give the guys who have 30 years service but are 53, the same benefit as the guys who retired at 55 with ony 20 years but were given full medical benefits, sounds fair to me.
You are 100% correct, but also 100% wrong. The Aetna contract is held by the FOP and for the 1st time in our careers we dont have the City involved with how it is structured. By the way the City's plan for Medicare that they rolled out is less coverage for more money and is 100% voluntary. The City controls the benefit because and the member pays 100% of the cost with no input on how it is structured. When i was at the membership meeting last year that was one of the biggest things i got out of it. We control as a group the Aetna plan because the FOP is the contract holder.

Probably continuing on with the anti police agenda of the media.
The police are the problem.... CPD is bad, CPD is racist, CPD is out of control etc., etc.
They won't be happy until they have bankrupted the middle class and forced us all into their plantation of gov't dependency.

You hit the nail on the head. That is their plan, control, get rid of middle class and have everyone dependent on government. Trump is fighting them, and it seems like an uphill battle. If he fails we may be looking at another revolutionary war.
Per lawyers email from Krislov and Associates, Judge Cohen is ill today, will not be in, and a future date will need to be set.

– Hey did any trained investigators ever get a notion to ask when they seen them?
But to ease some of the suspense and intrigue, they like to use random footage and clips to boost a usually boring pointless story.
Blurred unidentifiable images and they'll have a 15 minute exposé on 050.

They bullshitted you?
No, you bullshitted yourself.
There were PLENTY of us telling you not to let them get their foot in the door. PLENTY of us saying it was a ploy. We knew what 'a dollar' meant and it didn't mean 100 pennies. It meant an end run, a scam, a theft, but we were shouted down by people who wanted to be scammed and who wanted to be stolen from. Idiots all.
The world is GHETTO!
Where's the fire department, they haven't contributed a dime.
With the increasing cost of benefits, free health insurance isn't sustainable. Chicago and the State of IL already are having issues with over taxation. Who are they supposed to tax to pay for 100% of government worker health care?
