Carnage Continues
- A woman was killed and two people were wounded, including a 4-year-old boy, in a shooting Friday evening in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
The shooting happened at 5:19 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Kamerling, police said. The circumstances were unknown.
Nice hood - and the city "officially" hit 400 this weekend - three days ahead of last year:
- A man was shot to death early Friday near the former Cabrini-Green public housing projects on the Near North Side, according to Chicago Police, marking the city’s 400th homicide so far this year.
This is, of course, yet another lie by the statistic keepers, desperately attempting to stave off the "March to 700" two years in a row. HeyJackass.com, the only site with actual real numbers, has Chicago at 411.

Collateral damage is acceptable, as long as the primary target gets taken out. There ere bad people out there that need to die, and they are dying every day. The Community is slowly taking them out, one or two at a time.

Well said !! I must have heard at least 3 times the dispatcher on zone 12 during the backlog say there are no cars available except the beat restricted ones.
The other day there was one 06 car up and it had 2 Sgts assigned to it.
He runs this district like a complete joke. How the hell can he get away with a 12 hour backlog on a good day! And no one other than the civilians are taking notice?!
I'm getting alittle tired of having to explain to decent people why it took so long for someone to respond.
I do find a bit of peace explaining to them that the commander doesn't care about anything other than homicides
And everything else means absolutely nothing to him so get used to it. The looks on their faces are priceless lol

What will it take for there to be open admission that WAR is taking place on the streets of Chicago? Furthermore that it is the Drug War playing out (exactly as INTENDED by the Political Drug Warriors)?

There is no repealing possible of the Laws of Supply and Demand. Prohibition of alcohol made Chicago Gangsters the most famous of all.

Nothing changes until the "Prohibition Lite" is put to rest, and for the same reasons, like "Prohibition" (of booze) was put to rest. So in 025 is the beat only assignments and having the wagon stay on north avenue having a positive effect? It worked perfectly in the winter time. But in the summer, all it takes is one shooting, homicide, bad traffic accident, etc. and the whole district is in a tailspin. I am just a blue shirt and my suggestion is that what we are trying presently is not working, so let's try another strategy.
The rowhouses in 018 have 1 or 2 fixed post cars 2-4 POs making time and a half baby sitting one side of a two block long street every night. The murder in cabrini happened even though a car was there on a fixed post. A lot of good that did. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Fixed posts don't work. It's obvious the gangs don't care that the police are sitting right there.
Who cares their just draining the swamp.
If enough are killed eventually the numbers will go down.

Just proves hiring an additional 1,000 police isn't going to change anything. Only make it easier to get time off and cut down on OT , but will have no affect on cutting crime.
Think about it 1000. They will fill all the vacancies in the units, load up headquarters and make more promotions which they are already doing. Say 460 actually see a district, not the front office, CAPS radio etc. that's 20 po's a district divide by 3 watches , 7 a watch then do u will be lucky to get 4 po's each watch and you think that is going to affect crime. It's a joke. I agree you have to start somewhere, but don't expect this to be an answer. There will be less po's on the street than now on weekends they cancel do or make mandatory OT and unless you are Stevie Wonder you can see how that work out and how successful those programs were

There is a profound difference between "stopping crime" and "enforcing the law".
Police are not there to protect people from crime happening to them, cops do not exist to protect yourself FOR you. That would actually be a usurpation of a individual enumerated right (which is why SCOTUS admitted this very salient fact about police and policing when the question was put to them directly).
Police exist to catch a criminal how did a crime, not to "prevent" it from happening in the first place. Notice, Rahm has installed a policy where police can not even chase criminals. It is as backward as it can get!
It IS the good Father's role to preach the Word to convince people not to commit crime in the first place, indeed a form of PREVENTION. See the Difference?
