- Police say the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Pleasure Cardell Singleton Jr. was a case of self-defense, and the woman who shot him will not be charged.
The woman shot Singleton after he stabbed her multiple times Thursday afternoon in a domestic fight in his West Side Lawndale neighborhood home, Chicago Police said.
About 4:05 p.m. Oct. 5, Singleton, a father of three, was shot in the chest after he stabbed the 25-year-old woman multiple times in the 4000 block of West 21st Street, police said.
That is a statistic that might trouble the politicians and social-justice crowd - citizens actually taking responsibility for their own safety and justifiably killing their assailants? What the Hell is this, America or something?

With a name like Pleasure he had to be a tough guy. Just like the J. Cash song A Boy Named Sue, Pleasure learned to fight early. To prove how tough he was he was beating up a woman. By our count, #3000 was tallied at 4:00p Friday afternoon. Last year hit 3000 on Sept 8th. Previous years never broke 3000 for the entire year.
A finer point on the police vs citizenry stat, 2 of the 10 police-involved incidents did not involved the CPD (rather Amtrak & ISP instead). Therefore the good citizens of Chicago are outgunning the CPD in the fatal shooting department 10-8, but CPD is well ahead in the non-fatal tally, 10-4.

Thank You, SCC, for tossing props to people for defending themselves. It is the right thing to do.
Now please consider this. Think about all those instances of shot or shot-killed that do not get cleared. Obviously a number of them are outright murders people are too scared to talk about, but just as obvious is the fact that a number of them are just examples of what is complimented here - simple examples of self defense.
So why don't people step up to explain that? Well, half a century of "gun=crime no matter what" is why!
Do away with the gun control and all of a sudden the clearance rate would rise, drastically, and the message complimented here would be exponentially louder - especially to the criminal element!
I suspect this will be happening more and more often. The Police do their job but with the courts and politicians turning criminals out as fast as the Police arrest them, and Police exercising extreme caution whenever dealing with any suspect, citizens will be more responsible for their own safety.
Liberal democrats believe they are protecting their voters while ordinary citizens see the government is unable to provide for their safety. Besides voting against the incumbents, citizens recognize the need to arm and protect themselves and their loved ones.
Every politician that speaks out for more gun control shows himself/herself to be a hypocrite as they stand surrounded by armed guards.

If you review the homicide numbers, 2017 is already higher then 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Note that the brass and the media have said nothing about this. All they seem to do is compare the 2017 numbers with the uptick year of 2016 to show a downturn in homicides. Talk about a smoke screen.
