Maybe a Gun Safety Course?

Or is the Department re-classifying homicides again, making them suicides?
  • A woman was killed Saturday night when a gun accidentally discharged inside a Portage Park neighborhood home on the Northwest Side, police said.

About 10 p.m., 21-year-old Nadia Manjarrez and a 37-year-old man were inside a home in the 4800 block of West Hutchinson when the gun went off, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Manjarrez, who lived in the neighborhood, was shot in the head and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.
And:
  • A 16-year-old girl is dead and three other people were hospitalized after shootings Sunday.

The girl was shot in the face about 7 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Marquette Road, according to Chicago police.

The girl, who was pronounced dead on the scene, was in a home when an acquaintance was "handling a firearm" and accidentally shot the victim in the eye, police said.
That's some awfully accurate shooting for "accidents" from "mishandling." Perhaps an  NRA "Eddie the Eagle" course might be helpful.

Oops. Stuff happens. What reasons could those poor innocent lambs have to do something nefarious?

Now she can't rat me out.
I know the bitch ratted me out.
Now I don't have to pay child support.
Bitch was stepping out.
She was too damned expensive.
He said to do it, didn't say why, and don't want to know.

Or

Who knows, maybe they are that derpy?

Semantics, semantics. FBI has always counted
suicides as murders. Trying to go the other way
around won't really change the numbers.

“...when a gun accidentally discharged...”
NO! The dumbass holding it made it discharge when they pulled the trigger.

Anything NRA is poison to the [Democratic] politicians Illinois. They would rather eat there young than admit the NRA is a positive force in promoting gun safety. If given the chance the NRA could make a positive difference in the lives of the youth of Illinois, unlike the politicians who's only real concern is getting re-elected.

That gun safety course should include target practice. That would cut down on unintended being shot. The course should be taught in 3 & 4 grade, never too early to give career skills training. Some might think this is to early to begin safety courses, but want to make sure you get them before they drop out of school. I have found the point and shoot method to be the most effective in keeping lead on target.

There's a reason we don't call them "accidental discharges" anymore. Negligent discharge is the correct description.

"the gun went off"

Should read "the trigger was pulled" because that's the only way a gun goes off. Guns don't go off on their own.

Accidental discharge? Maybe. I've seen the aftermath of an accidental discharge. I also have a rifle that will sometimes shoot twice with one trigger pull, but the trigger has to be pulled first!

The accident discharge above? Boyfriend buys girlfriend a pistol for personal protection. A revolver. She hears a bump in the night, gets the pistol, and investigates. Determines it must be her imagination, but she had cocked the pistol and didn't know how to de-cock it.
While screwing around with it, she shot her left index finger and killed her refrigerator. It was an accident.

I always cringe when I hear the term "the gun went off", which conjures images of an innocent person minding their business when an evil gun decided to shoot them for no reason.

That's Shaft D. Wilson Jr. (or II on his other ID).
The D is...er' was, for dummy.
Now there's a question Wendell. At what point did he stop being a dummy and when?

Diversity, inclusion, Sect 8 or just the lottery...who knows.
A long time resident who lived in Lake Forest since the 60's was quoted;
"For this town, its kind of an unprecedented event - and certainly for the neighborhood."

– Wont be long before the 1300 block of West Estate Lane East, Lake Forest will look like 1300 block of W. Hastings (New Brooks).
My guess is even the taxbase of the 45th Ward will not fare well either.

Never happen. Resident move rented the house out. Isolated incident. Party was advertised on social media. Attendees came from outside Lake Forest
My guess at the next village meeting there will be an ordinance regulating renting of residence. No section 8 in Lake Forest
