Nice Lagoon Rahm

  • Suspected human remains were found packed in two duffel bags near the Lincoln Park lagoon Saturday morning on the North Side.

Fishermen called police from the lagoon near the 2200 block of North Stockton shortly before 11 a.m. when they found one bag containing possible remains, according to Chicago Police.

Police divers responded and found a second bag with additional remains thought to be from the same person, police said.

Detectives were looking into missing person cases for possible leads as the Cook County medical examiner’s office investigated the remains, police said.
Given the time of year, this was darkly amusing:
  • Late Saturday afternoon, authorities continued searching the lagoon area next to a Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot, with staff directing drivers toward the other end. Steps away from the crime scene, families attended “Spooky Zoo 2017,” billed on the zoo’s website as an opportunity for families “to celebrate Halloween in a free, safe, and family-friendly environment.”
The irony in that paragraph is almost painful.

Think about how many bodies are never found. Also the new TRRs should be referred to as the TRR 1000, because it's going to drive the homicide rate to above 1000. And with Ed filling the exempt ranks with NOBLE members this city will be like Somalia.

Oh My God! My home is on Beat 1814.

Any information on an ID, gender, race and approximate age of the lagoon murder victim? Were the cadaver parts packed into designer bags or just cheap common duffel bags? Any evidence of cannibalism? What was the cause of death? Details, please? On Monday morning, I'm going to see 43rd Ward Alderwoman Michele Smith about this terrifying situation. Step up CPD patrols. Did they ever solve the murder of Joseph White nearby on Cannon Drive?

Could Judith Mae Anderson's murderer still be out there in the wind? The police found her decapitated remains in a bucket and a 55 gallon drum in Lake Michigan.

I was fishing in the lagoon at night a couple weeks ago. I saw a person wearing a Guy Fawkes mask carrying two duffel bags. I dismissed it as a person getting an early start on Halloween.

What makes people (or folks) think they can get away with murder in Chicago, you ask?

Surely you jest, SCC!

If so inclined, who WOULDN'T choose to pull off that redrum in a city that has a dismal sub-20% homicide solve rate in a state without the death penalty?

That said, that water is too shallow and too clean to be dumping suitcases full of body parts. Just sayin'...

The only surprising part of this story is that someone actually took the time to try and cover up their criminal activity. Need to get Ms. Foxxx on this right away. If a suspect is developed, she can prepare her defense, ah...her prosecution of the suspect on littering charges.

Why is everyone surprised by this? How many human remains have been found in the Garfield Park and Gage Park lagoons over the years? Are you all so delusional as to believe it cannot happen in Lincoln Park? Murder and body disposal is an equal opportunity crime. Have you all forgotten Larry Eyler, Jeffrey Dalmer or John Wayne Gacy?

Remains of a child was found at Garfield and Humboldt Parks.

Chicago police charged Kamel Harris for the murder of 2-year-old Kyrian Knox, whose remains were found in the Garfield Park lagoon in 2015.

Smiley Face Buffalo Rahm strikes again.

The Trib posted a crime scene photo.
Looked like the scene wasn't too well protected.
Can't imagine much, if any contamination possibilities but there were a dozen people of various order pictured.
The paper car was busy writing an ANOV (at the demand of the Sgt) to the coho snagger who didn't have a license to fish the cesspool.

Suicide, that's funny and probable according to the Rahm & Special Ed crime diametric.

This Death Investigation leads to a bedazzled Area North trying to figure out how the decedent tied the tops of TWO plastic bags after he already inside both of them based on an old Houdini act preformed in an glitzy Brooklyn Heights absinthe house around 1897 or so.

The pending toxicology will find high levels of polychorinated byfenyl, i.e polluted lagoon water combined with the Hefty plastic off gassing. Oh yeah, it's global warming too.
The matter will be turned over to Friends of the Lagoons (an environmental awareness group dedicated to the preservation of natural habitations) to assess the need future clean ups and taxpayer funding.

Mighty Joe Ferguson has all ready prepared his op-ed, pending identification and victim profession.
(If only there had been lagoon police during their job...)

Clear Closed.

In the best interests of all Chicongoans & for the civic good, aldercritters & 9.5 should team up to repeal all laws against murder, homicide & manslaughter within the utopian realm of fabulous Cook County.

If murder, homicide & manslaughter were legal (as they should be in such a lakeside paradise as Chicongo) then the City & whole danged county could be a "Life Free Zone" which is the ultimate political object of the Rahmista Wing of the Nazicrat Party & totally blessed by native Saints, St Saul of Alinsky & St Baracka of Husseina

Some years ago working mid-nites in 018, was flagged down by an Elderly guy from cabrini, who was fishing in the lagoon for carp. Turns out he snagged a dead body and reeled it to shore. After notifiying EVERYBODY and things started to settle down, I asked the guy how he was doing. He said, to paraphrase it. Oh man officer, I thought I had meez a 30 pound carp to feed the family...He was soooooo disappointed and the snagging of the body didn't phase him one bit. He just thought he had a GIANT FISH on the end of his line....Too funny....

CPD homicide detectives:

Proceed to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive. Across Cannon, you will find a parking lot with a ramp in the southeast corner which gives small boat and raft access to the lagoon. The murderer drove a vehicle to the ramp, loaded the duffel bags onto a boat and rowed beneath the Fullerton Avenue overpass about 400 yards south where he dumped the duffel bags containing the dismembered corpse.

The only known witnesses: Canada geese and ducks.
