They had two active shooter/mass casualty trainings at Comiskey Park over the summer that I know of. CFD, Police, actors and Comiskey staff were a part of it. Heard they did it at the other stadiums as well but didn't see those. Hearing that Special Events are the ones getting the trainings and are a new mini SWAT team. Weird, because those guys and gals are all traffic coppers.

I’ve done the active shooter training with CFD at Near North earlier this year. I don’t know if that counts. I’m also a baseball cap wearing tact guy, occasionally a hairgel. I don’t think they offered the training to watch personnel. Which is bullshit. The beat car would be the first to respond in most cases. The city shouldn’t say the training has been done unless the entire department does it.

That whole carbine program needs to be examined. Order is out of date. A lot has changed since Jodi departure. No more carbine officers assigned to the desk, wagon, exc... have a rapid response car (two po's with carbines) ready to go per watch. It's a long shot to get just this. but it isn't asking much. And where do you get the bodies from? Simple get rid of your deadweight on tact, commanders office, caps.....but I know nothing will change.

Okay, you might be telling the truth, but you, and 9.5 are being disingenuous. He is not hiring the 1,000 "additional" officers he promised to hire. He plays fast and loose with semantics and he hopes most people and the media will pretend to believe he kept his promise.
Your number of probably 800 hires or so this year to date are not additional hires adding to the strength of the department. The 800 hires are merely keeping up with promotions, retirements, resignations, discharges and deaths. He has not expanded the strength of the department.
In a sense, back after Year 2011, he put the department on a diet as a cost saving measure. He diminished the strength of the department to a predetermined number of his choosing, but now he has the department on maintenance in order to maintain the predetermined number.
To expand the strength of the department by roughly 800-1,000 members over the strength number of his choosing, he needed to hire 2 for every 1 of the Year 2017 hires. At the end of Year 2017, check the strength number of the department. The number will be near identical to the strength number recorded on the last day of Year 2016.
Please do not fall for 9.5's nonsense. He is 80% bullshit and 20% flatulence. He does not want you to believe what you know to be true. He wants you to believe what he tells you is true, however, he does not tell the truth.
And, one more thing; that pooch, specialEd standing at the podium on Tuesday in the multi-purpose room taking a beating from that piece of shit Slo Ferguson regarding overtime. Previously, when they had the number at 59, they were counting the shooter. Then another victim died and they raised the number to 60. Actually, the correct number is now 59. The 60 number is when the shooter is added. Fuck him.

I wouldn't say that. They have some good guys but they are stretched thin , and lets face it , it will be the patrol guys showing up first and will probably ONLY be them for the first hour. LVPD is just better then we are and still it took 70+ minutes to get into that room, in a much smaller city with wide open BLVDs. With Chicago traffic and insane crowds????

Look clown show, the first swat units arrived within 15 min. They began setting up sniper positions and building charges for the doors and walls. Like I said you know very little. They were ready for an assault within 30 minutes but did not make entry since the shooting had stopped.

Then where the hell do they go?? We haven't got a recruit in months. Oh, they come for their cycles then Poof!!! They disappear. All recruits seem to do their last cycle in 007, 011 or 015 and that's where they stay

And I'm sure you are aware just prior to finishing their 18 month probation period they are transferred to their permanent district of assignment. This is done because they are not covered by athe contract and can be assigned without bidding or the 20%. A little while back 016 got with 12 or 16 ppo's just prior to getting off probation
Great for the guys with 10 plus years who can't bid to a decent district but ppo's are assigned there for the rest their careers
Most coppers are afraid of change,try to get a straight day guy who does nothing g to carry a rifle everyday. How can he or she carry it when they have thier newspapers to carry. Hell these folks can't even get the car washed or gassed. Now don't tell me they have all these jobs stacked up. Blame the Supervisors who are looking for thier early duck
