Off Duty Stabbed
- An off-duty Chicago police officer was stabbed while driving a car Friday morning on the South Side, causing her to hit a school bus, according to police.
The officer, 47, was stabbed in the head in a domestic attack and taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was stabilized, police said.
A child on the bus was taken to Jackson Park Hospital complaining of a headache.
The woman was driving in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. when she was attacked in what police described as a domestic incident.

I hope the Officer makes a rapid recovery, of course, but what charges is the offender facing? Who is the offender? A stabbing in the head? I'd expect someone is facing some pretty stiff charges.
Or is it because the victim is a Police Officer, no one is going to bother?

The offender's picture made Sunday's papers, and he has been charged with attempted murder.
It’s all in the paper Monday. Offender is a 21 stepson of the victim. She was driving him to the hospital for treatment on a mental condition
He's a mental case? And been charged with attempted murder? And the victim is a Police Officer.
I'm not unsympathetic to the mentally challenged, but I would hope the victim has a say-so in how this case is pursued. Either way, up to the victim, being that its family.

Not a conspiracy, his picture was in the paper and this was a domestic, dealing with a son with mental issues. Give the family a break , gender issues shouldn’t be involved and I’m glad I’m not a protected person if I would get charged with attempt murder. Now it’s up to family to decide to prosecute or not. Their decision, move on
It’s totally up to the victim since they are family. I’m hoping for a speedy recovery. He’s obviously needs help and he’s probably been in need of help for a very long time. If he’s a danger to her, he’s a danger to everyone. If he’s nit prosecuted, he should definitely be committed.
