New Contender - Dumbest Statement

We thought the Maywood Police Chief wrapped it up with his contention that Concealed Carriers were driving 100% increase in his backwater's homicide totals - from five all the way up to ten - despite the fact that not a single Concealed Carrier has even been accused of a crime in Maywood.

Now we find out this asshole is making a run for the top spot:
  • The city of Chicago’s annual income from the Divvy bike share program dropped by almost $1 million after a major expansion into South and West side neighborhoods.

Divvy income fell from $2.86 million in 2014 and $2.84 million in 2015 to $1.97 million in 2016, a 31 percent drop, according to the city Department of Transportation figures. The city said it is improving its outreach to get more people to try Divvy and expects its income for the program to be about as high this year as in 2015.

Transportation officials said the expansion to black and Latino neighborhoods on the South and West sides was an attempt to increase diversity in a program that was launched four years ago in mainly white, affluent neighborhoods. But the South and West sides pose challenges to Divvy because they tend to be less affluent and have more impediments to biking, such as fewer bike lanes, cycling advocates say.

“People have barriers to getting on bikes, like cost and access and fear and both interpersonal violence and police violence,” said Olatunji Oboi Reed, co-founder of Slow Roll Chicago, which is dedicated to increasing biking diversity.
Really? Fewer bike lanes? Has anyone seen what Rahm did to the west side? The Boulevards? What used to be a quick shortcut to 26/Cal has turned into a one-lane nightmare...at over $100,000 per mile as well.

Cost? Did Rahm arrange for LINK cards to grant access to Divvy bikes? And lower rates based on where the bike station is located?

Access? those bike stations are taking up valuable parking spots in many neighborhoods near CTA stations and sidewalk space everywhere else.

And the topper:
  • ....both interpersonal violence and police violence.
"police violence" Who the Hell is this lib-tarded fuck weasel? What a crock of shit. You know who most coppers aren't going to bother with? People with jobs. People riding bikes in accordance with Illinois law (i.e. not on the sidewalk.)

Here's a free idea - how about a Divvy Car-Jacking station in the hood? For the low low price of $9.95, you can jack a car docked at the station. They can even start a Venecko Gun Rental kiosk next door in case you forget your gat at home.

I ride Divvy myself, and the service and quality of the bikes have gone downhill since they've expanded to other neighborhoods that are "underserved." Price has gone up $20 a year, and I'm struggling to see how their income dropped that much unless there's some shenanigans going on. Also, isn't the city on the hook for any of their operating losses?

I'm all for more people riding bikes, but not everything needs to be a social justice issue. And this clown is up and coming through the ranks of the "everything is racist" league in Chicago, so he should hit "reverend" status in 5 years.

That since he "finally" learned of the Laquan video he has reached out to the communities, trying to bring peace by making sure that
COPA will do its job?
What the PHUCK!! Isn't there ANYONE who can run and defeat this 9 1/2 little prick? Do voting citizens TRULY believe that with 3000+
shot, 600+ dead, that POLICE are the problem???? When you can't walk through certain neighborhoods, where you can't display your phone on a CTA el train, where you can't even have visitors to this city walk the Mag Mile without mayhem / rape / robbery / beatings happen to them?

I did the math a few days ago when the Trib published this story. I don't want to check my numbers again - so they may be wrong - but I believe that ONE Divvy was rented every THREE days from some of the racks in Austin. So, how many legit rentals or legit memberships need to be sold to pay for one subsidized membership? Good job, Chicago! In your efforts "to make things fair" you ended-up running another program into the ground.

And another thing - I've lived on the north side and the south side. Your #1 danger in riding a bicycle anywhere isn't violence - police or "interpersonal" - it is other drivers. Despite there being much more traffic on the north side, I experience more shit-assed driving on the south side.

It excludes senior citizens, handicapped people, it is against families with children, it is against childres, makes woman vulnerable to assaults.

Our climate alone prevents us from using the bike 75% of the year.

On the contrary pandering ass politicians. You have closed thoroughfares. Created mass traffic chaos with one lanes on Blvds like Sacramento and Lawrence. Divvy bike lanes have reduced access by residents of the south and west sides to reach schools and medical care in a prompt way. Divvy Bike lanes increase traffic gridlock and is responsible for creating more pollution by staling car and truck traffic.

Get tax relief, claim a loss all on the cost of doing business is the way to offset what comes in and is paid to the Board.

Profits dwindling could have absolutely nothing to do with the operating costs associated with stolen bikes and bikes that get trashed by dude and co. that are pretty much unusable by anyone else and are absorbed by the company. Bikes rented with green dot cards with ten dollars on it then the card is thrown away and the bike never is returned to the dock. Divvy is a mini model of Chicago, raise the prices for the paying customers to pay for the animal who can’t get right. We’ll see how long the private company’s liberal mindset lasts when it actually starts to LOSE money and the operating costs outweigh the profits....unlike our politicians, I would think a shareholder in divvy would be pretty pissed off and a change of management would happen very quickly.

He’s just doing what all the other bosses are doing, no matter what district or unit you are in. This will never change and both Johnson and Rahm ignore it

Un-fucking believable.

A “reasonable officer” would not have believed he was in danger of death or serious injury???
So those Copa fucks are experts at what we perceive to be a threat? I myself am a very reeeasonable Officer. And I will tell you any day of the week...that the nutjob at the top of the stairs, holding a big ass baseball bat that will kill me with one blow, is a very dangerous threat to my life. And the lives around me. He’s not dropping it. Done. The woman behind him, while tragic, was an accident. An aaaaacccident. No more. Resulting from shithead with the bat and his actions. Are we really supposed to wait until they swing on us? Fuck that. I know, they are saying it’s cause the Officer lied. I call bullshit. Still...dude wouldn’t drop the bat. A big threat in my eyes.

Man, if you cops weren't doing muggings and drive by shootings people would be using the Divvy bikes all the time.

Why bike when car jacking is so much fun.

12/28/2017 05:40:00 AM

We had a carjacking on Madison east of Ashland where the offenders were 3 M1 teens on divvy bikes. The nice F2 victim was afraid to mow their asses down.

OT
Copa just ruled that the shooting g of LaGreer was not justified. What BS. Regardless of his mental state, he advanced on a police officer with a baseball bat. A deadly weapon when he was shot. Open the checkbook Rahm. All to appease the black voters. I give up

If you needed anymore reason to leave cpd, cops strikes again. I guess a bat isn’t deadly force. And to you idiot 06 and tact strokes, keep playing with fire it will burn.

Let's face the truth, no legit business can survive the ghetto without taking a loss. Those that do survive are mom and pop businesses that scam the LINK program or do some other "side" business that leaves out paying taxes. They've tried Starbucks in Lawndale, dead. McDonslds on Madison, dead.

Sometimes, as in this case, staying fetal doesn’t help. These guys weren’t doing pro active policing. They were answering a call, they were assigned
Some the most fetal officer gets a call like this and has no choice but to protect himself and shot the guy

The Maywood chief is obviously unfit and unqualified to run a police department; just look at that armpit's spiraling out of control crime rate- similar to Chicago, where yet another incompetent is in charge. Speaking of incompetence, what is the Rahmhole doing about the City's major crime problem? Anything? Installing more red-light cameras? What a jagoff, focusing on how to squeeze more money out of the taxpaying citizens- while foregoing their safety and well being for an extra penny- and at the same time having his own drivers blowing red lights with impunity. We have to wonder why the media won't cover these and other indiscretions that the Rahm-hole gets away with...

Divy bikes not successful on West Side because of lack of bike lanes and police violence!!?? Bwahahahahahahah.....unfucking-believable the shit some of these journalists will come up because they’re too scared to call out the big elephant in the room. This asshole who wrote this tripe obviously has never been to the corner of lake and kedzie. Go ahead and check it out for yourself sometime. Divy stations vandalized bikes stolen. All over the West Side. With plenty of bike lanes which no one there uses btw. But yeah go ahead and blame “ the system” “police” and some other bullshit false racist narrative for your business failing in the hood. Lol. Why don’t you ask why the CVS on Kedzie and Madison closed. Guarantee it wasn’t becausen of lack of opportunity. So sick of it.
