CCL Again

  • A 23-year-old man was fatally shot Monday evening by a 58-year-old man he was trying to rob in the South Side Austin neighborhood.

Shaquille Gales, 23, of Bellwood, walked up to the older man about 5:45 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Thomas Street, pulled out a gun and demanded his property, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The 58-year-old, a concealed-carry permit holder, pulled out his own weapon and shot the attempted robber, police said.

Gales was taken to West Suburban Medical in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
And take a look at this part of the article:
  • An autopsy Tuesday found Gales died from a gunshot wound to the chest through his arm, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide. Police initially reported that Gales was shot in the back of the head.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
There's a big difference between being shot in the back of the head and being shot in the chest. We have a hard time believing that any officer on scene would tell the media that, so that leaves a either a blatant disinformation attempt by Media Affairs to smear a Concealed Carrier or (more believably), a media lie to do the same thing at the behest of Rahm and the anti-gun agenda. And they get to blame the police for being incompetent enough to think a body shot is a head shot.

After all, an "execution" is a better sell to the lib-tarded crowd.

If this keeps up CCL holders will ventilate more jagoffs than the Police. It’s still gonna take time for some of the more intelligent jagoffs to figure out its too risky to pull a gun on a citizen. But the other brain surgeons will still wind up on a slab. I like the whole scenario.

You mean the CCL holder did not shoot an innocent man in the back of the head as was reported by the local media outlets? After hearing the initial report I immediately un-friended everyone I knew was a concealed carry holder on facebook, told all of those living in my immediate vicinity to stay away from me and my family and even researched how to void my own license as I did not want to be part of a community who misused firearms. Now I learn that the information given to me by a source I trust and depend on to keep me informed- and has a license to do so (let alone all the moral and social implications and responsibilities that go along with providing public information), deliberately misinformed me? I have lost countless friends causing me depression and personal loss and I am beside myself. My appetite has been ruined, I have been unable to sleep, the anxiety is unbearable and I am terrified every time I walk out my door. I am now thinking I should retain legal services as no one should have to endure this suffering due to the dissemination of false public information- intentional or not. Are there any attorneys with a thought or interest?

So, the police and fire on scene originally believed he was shot in the head due to large amounts of blood covering his face and head. Fire believed they found a GSW in the head and he had large amounts of thick blood coming from his mouth consistent with a head wound.

Feel good story, but "no there, there" in regards to the GSW to the head. News reported what was being reported at that time and was relayed to OEMC and News Affairs.

Can't seem to get this smirk off of my face.

I'm a ccl carry guy, and my two neighbors one a Detective and the other a Police Officer who works in the seventh district, told me it's a great time to be a ccl card holder. One of their main reasoning, it's a rich target environment. I was told to practice, practice and think like a gunfighter. For me, I grew up around guns and hunt big game in the lower 48. For me the Sig220 45cal works and I pray I do not have to exercise my right to defend myself with deadly force, but I'm prepared. I also pray for all the police officers who are now beat down by the system and the people they serve and protect. Too anyone else who is thinking about getting their ccl card, don't delay it, get your ccl ASP.

There should be a private fund for Concealed Carry people who shoot an offender. If the asshole is wounded, the CCL gets a $2500.00 bounty. When the asshole is shot dead, then the bounty goes up to $5,000.00. Multi offenders being shot and killed would be multiplied by 2.5. Yes, a bounty for dispatching assholes is a great incentive, I do worry it might drop robberies, carjackings, and home invasions. These assholes aren't stupid, if a bounty is put on their heads, these pussies, who are cowards would suddenly stop and that would be unfortunate.

The most deadly one is the one a person knew how to use and was willing to use it. Here, both had a gun, only one was willing.

From Bellwood to Oak Park and borders of Chicago, all should see a slight decline in criminal activity for the next couple days.

- When did Austin become a south side neighborhood? (1/10/2018 12:53:00 AM)

Around 2012 when the last Ward Boundary re-map made the North-South border Belmont Avenue (formerly Madison Ave).
It has nothing to do with the Post Office address numbering system and is based on the expanding representation of the population, pawn shops, barbers, nail salons, laundromats, liquor stores and clinics.

I wonder if we could put a fund together, would that be a violation of G.O.'s. Someone should float the idea and see if it's legal. Just look at Congress, they had a fund to take care of the women they were violating. This could be considered as compensation for the stress which occurs when you have to exercise self defense.

I've looked for and have not found anyone who was justified using deadly force in Chicago charged with an offense other then a bullshit gun charge. Not having a registered gun, which occurred in the past, because we don't have to resister guns in Chicago anymore. I heard of one civil suit and the CCL prevailed with the Judge throwing out the case on the merit of the Illinois law that protects a victim in his or her use of deadly force during the commission of a forcible felony.

The case you mentioned is the Arizona case that was a cluster fuck from the get go. This CCL guy gets in a fist fight with two woman who live across the street. Then a male boyfriend of the two women gets into it and CCL guy gets punched a couple of times from the male. He pulls his gun, shoots one of the females and the male. The CCL guy goes into his garage or near it and unloads his Glock. Long story short, there are more witnesses against the CCL holder who shot two people during a fist fight. CCL holder is defended by two Public Defenders and expert witnesses, prosecuted by an aggressive DA with an agenda against gun rights, jury in both trails are dead locked, and the DA decides not to prosecute the third time. My opinion after reading case, CCL fucked up in the beginning of the altercation, it escalated to a point where he completely lost control of the situation, now he's on the border of being seriously injured, panics and shoots a women and male who are punching the shit out of him. The police have different accounts of the incident, more witnesses against the CCL holder and he is arrested.

Bottom line, this case is one of those fucked up ones dealing with neighbors involved in fist fighting, which is not even close to a felony like a robbery, car jacking, or home invasion. That's why we are not seeing the CCL card holders being arrested or sued when using deadly force during incidents like forceable felonies.
