Foxxx Quid Pro Quo

  • In August, nine months after she took office, her staff struck a deal with Burke’s firm: It settled three lawsuits, agreeing that various local governments Foxx’s office was representing would refund nearly $2 million in property taxes that AT&T had paid between 2013 and 2015 on a 105-acre campus in Hoffman Estates that now sits vacant.

That is the biggest tax settlement that Foxx’s staff has approved during her first 11 months as state’s attorney, according to a Chicago Sun-Times review of data released by her office in response to a public records request.

It’s a fraction of the $16 million in refunds that Burke was seeking when he filed those lawsuits, asserting that Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios and the Cook County Board of Review had overestimated the value of the AT&T campus for three years.
It's never ceases to amaze how politicians managed to get other politicians elected to spots that benefit the original someone's side business.

Its so out in the open. They dont even hide the corruption. Im sure there is some loophole sewn into the laws they create to keep these assholes out of jail. Burke has been funneling money to himself for decades yet he remains free. Go figure.

2 million dollars that is a lot of LINK money right? Keep going after the people that want to work but the companies that make massive profit refuse to hire. Yep. Why do you think guys like Jeff Bezos are gazillionaires, because they never have to spend their own on money on a damn thing.

Shockingly, a pretty revealing story by the reporter (the Scum Times nonetheless), outlining the machinations of the corrupt politicians who represent the benefit parties. Madigan, Burke, Cullerton, Tully...all part of the "evil cabal", a phrase made famous by the late Mayor, Jane Byrne.

Politicians have been feathering their own nests for years. It's nothing new. What's irritating is they keep getting elected over and over again.

IF Ed Burke and his wife had been prosecuted by any of the Democratic Crook County State Attorneys,Illinois Attorney General or US Attorneys as documented in detail in Cooleys book, "When Corruption Was King" we wouldn't have this ongoing situation today.

But then again, Judge Zagel said it was "BLAGOJEVICH's corruption that diminished the public's 'already taxed faith' in its elected leaders when he sentenced him to fourteen years."

Didn’t take long for someone to expose her protected political status.
Democrat sponsorship doesn’t come free or cheap.
She had no money, no name and only a part time job referring civil cases...against Cook County while dabbling in CCSA administration.
She’s still affiliated with her former law firm that sues Cook County on behalf of inmates.
Go figure.
Wouldn’t it be nice to expose her emails?

If a low level crook like Berrios can last unscathed as long as he done so far, KimmJongFxxx will be next to impossible to launch.
The FBI has been hounding Fast Eddie Vrydrolyak for over a decade, for decades of improprieties, over and over again even after his short stint in Club Fed.
Blago was quick order and hardly a challenge.

Something the FBI should be looking into - Cook County pay to play and tie it all back to ShortShanks & Rahm.
Democrats are extra busy jamming the federal courts with bullshit police corruption allegations, sanctuarian civil rights and similar frivolous matters.
Ain’t nobody got time for Chicago political antics so long as they’re sharing the wealth amongst their insiders, including the judges.

Corruption is nothing new for Shithole Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

My late father always helped Burke during elections by putting signs on my parents corner home in his ward in the early 70's. During that time my father asked his 14th ward precinct captain for help in tearing down his old garage ; which the city was offering a program for residents to have their old garages torn down and hauled away for free. The precinct captain told my farther Burke said the program Stopped due in part they had too many requests in the ward and Burke couldn't help my father out. Two months later a neighbor was having their garage torn down by the city so my father asked how did she get it torn down. The neighbors informed my father that they called Burke's office 2 weeks before and since they knew Burke he told them "no problem" !!!! After that my father wouldn't put a campaign signs near his house ever again !!!! Ed Burke in nearly 5 DECADES he's been an Alderman has ALWAYS been concerned with his MAIN Constituents : HIMSELF & his wife Justice Ann Burke !!!!!

I thought no one could be worse than Rahm, then I read
this shit about Burke. What a puke head. Probably sold
all those garages for salvage. AND a 2-income family!
Robbing with 4 hands!
My guess on their net worth: 2.5 to 3 M mimimum.
Since we are in "that Season," many years in the future
Phillip Michael Thomas walks thru a Chicago graveyard
at midnight in freezing cold. The stone with the giant "E"
catches his eye and he thinks some kids might be hiding
nearby because he hears voices:
"Lord, Lord, please forgive me! I was the mayor of Chicago,
but I sold my soul for money. I betrayed the teachers, the
firemen and the police. And where did it get me? A grave
in the ground, and I no longer have the money. I threw my
life away. Help me, Lord, my soul is in much turmoil."
PMT, upon hearing this plea, turns as pink as his pastel jacket,
runs as fast as he can, screaming "Sonny, Sonny, Sonny!"

Shining Chicago Values for all to see and marvel at. Why is this even news, news should be when something unusual happens. This type of corruption goes on everyday and in never reported. Why now? They are simply doing what you all elected them to do, getting theirs' while the getting is good. Without so much a thank you. But, they are democrats after all and this is normal behavior.

I met Burke when our kids attended Skinner. You would think in his position and all the damn bodyguards he would be standoffish, but not so. We had chats, nothing political, I am black and he had the black son him and his wife adopted so we would discuss that. I look at it this way, Chicago has elections. For some reason, even though his ward map was redrawn, he wins by landslides. He knows how to play the political game in Chicago. Even if he were to lose in the next election, he has fuck you money at this point. His wife is a judge for life and the pensions he will collect in addition to his tax appeal business will keep his family flush. All politicians lie and get into office to enrich themselves or their family. Period. They do not give a fuck about public safety or actually helping people off social programs. It helps them that the poor stay poor so they can keep begging for free shit, even though nothing is free. I stopped calling and emailing years ago. The only way to talk to anyone in office is a massive campaign contribution. Fuck that.

Politicians like Burke, Madigan and Daly have worked the system out of 100’s of millions of dollars. Fixed contracts, tax appeals over payed under qualified city county and state workers. It’s a big joke to them they take whatever they can get their hands on and who suffers the tax payers and the future taxpayers of the city county and state. We really need term limits. These positions were not meant to be careers. Mike Madigan is a complete failure he has run this state into the ground. What a legacy, “I personally am responsible for the downfall of Illinois.”

2.5 to 3 million. More like 10 to 20 million. Did you forget he is an attorney and his firm handles property tax appeals on the largest buildings in Chicago. His law firm is lucrative and I’m sure he has some pretty good investments. His aldermans salary is chump change

Sir or madam, (re: above) It's closer to 30+ million!
His law firm makes more than 2.5-3 million annually.

Just think of all the money he saves wearing that same Laurel & Hardy suit every day! :)
