Thank goodness there's some investigative reporting going on at the Tribune!
- Over the last 17 years, at least 75 women have been strangled or smothered in Chicago and their bodies dumped in vacant buildings, alleys, garbage cans, snow banks. Arrests have been made in only a third of the cases, according to a first-ever analysis by the Tribune.
While there are clusters of unsolved strangulations on the South and West sides, police say they’ve uncovered no evidence of a serial killer at work. If they are right, 50 murderers have gotten away with their crime.
Wow. A 66% chance of getting away with strangling someone in Chicago. Who would have thought it was that easy?

It's a leadership problem. Fire all the detective leadership and start over. No accountability or direction. Simple problem to fix in corporate America. Not so much in CPD where you only have merit hacks to choose from. Privatize the CPD. Like Trump said to blacks, " what have you got to loose".
This is Proof Positive that there are no real Black Activists in Chicago. Everyone of them has been compromised or bought off. The vast majority of these victims were Black, and the crimes remain unsolved. Where is the outrage? Who will stand and demand justice for these victims? These women, even the ones on Crack and working the streets were someone's daughter, sister, mother or lover. As a City and Community, we have lost our integrity and dignity. And Rahm goes on cutting deals with his Elitist buddies, while his constituents get slaughtered. And for all of you who think T.V. cops are real; consider these stats and facts. There is no CSI or NCIS coming in to solve these crimes. The FBI is too busy rigging elections for the Democrats, so everyone is on their own. Why not do what the Bears just did and have a national search for top notch quality candidate to put in charge of detectives. Let him hire his team from wherever he can get good leaders. The promoting from within is what's wrong with the entire CPD. No qualified leaders to move up only a bunch of clouted who could not manage a hot dog cart. The Chicago way says politics trumps logic and reason. 80+ years of democratic rule have brought a once great city to it's knees. The solution is the ballot box if anyone is listening.
But the area detectives are very good at writing and distributing community warnings. Car jacking warnings, mugging warnings, burglary warnings unfortunately all long after a number of those types of activity have been performed in their respective areas. Well at least they were able to detect a trend in their area. Really doesn't matter since if they get lucky and arrest someone the court just puts them back on street with little or no penalties. Chicago has become a sanctuary city for illegal, criminals and gangs.

Even if I did learn how to solve a homicide, my caseload is so overwhelming due to a shortage of detectives, I don’t have time to actually investigate anything and no one really gives a f*ck anyway, so why bother.
Merit promotions after merit promotions get you totally unqualified leadership. The CPD is lead by a bunch of useless tools. They have ALL been promoted because of who they know not what they know. From the very top down there is not a person who should be in a position to lead or set policy, a bunch of clueless amateurs.
Not all killers can afford a gun. So they do it the old fashioned way, choke them out..
What needs to happen is for the rank and file take matters into their own hands and push back. First step is to elect a militant FOP leader that will not go along to get along. You need a very loud and strong voice that will be very proactive taking your case to the public. For those not totally clued in is, revolving door courts and jails, COPA, bogus testing, merit promotions and staffing in that order. I read SCC the average citizen has no clue how bad things are. Your job it to clue them in, until you do that things will not change for the better, fail that and things will get much worse. Good start would be hiring a out of city PR firm to help tell your story. But that will cost.... of course it will but you have strength in numbers and it is time you put up some money where your mouths are. $50-100 each will build a substantial war chest. Ball is firmly in your court, you can pick it up and begin to play game or leave it on ground and sit back and continue to bitch and moan.

Has anyone figured similarities of the murdered victims, such as their age, race, or if they are all or mostly prostitutes. In a nut shell, is the D coordinating with other Area's to maybe form an M.O.? Many more questions but what's the use, "hey Sarge, they lawyered up," suspended pending new leads.
Weiss ran off all of the old school police bosses who weren't afraid to tell the public of a budding problem but also that they were addressing it by making arrests. Rahm doesn't want arrests because he just figures that if there are no arrest there is no problem. Just like the robbery wave occurring in the loop and river north areas. Many of those are the same offender too but you can't offend democratic voters because you know it's never their fault.
And funny how there’s nooooo mention by main stream media of the ever so real “stop snitching culture”! Can’t blame the black community!!! ONLY police!!! #Joke

About 19 years or so ago, Sgt. Jack Ridges and his fellow Dicks from Area 1 H/S discovered that there were probably 3 serial killers with the same M/O as described here. Most of the bodies were dumped in abandoned buildings in 007. 002, 003 and 006 also had their share. Most of the victims were hookers working for their crack money (no pun here). Arrests were made but what happened afterwards I don't know.
No DNA?
Someone should look at the State Lab. Something is going on there or some merit bozo from Chicago decided that it was too costly to test for DNA and these cases were not investigated or processed properly. Staples should at least do a "DNA audit". To see if the proper requests where ever submitted. The state lab only does what is requested by the detectives. All of the "homicide" detective want to be are "Scene Dets" after their district friends and news media see them "cadillacing" around the scene it's over. No one wants the footwork or paperwork. But, that's what you are going to get when you put non-policing merit boys in as bosses and they bring non-policing friends who want titles but not the work.

pretty stupid remark by you. The " telephone book days" have been over for some time, decades. There probably is some value to the comments about merit detectives and supervisors who never were detectives, but laws and regulations that are unnecessary seems to have hampered detective work these days. Everythng is on camera and is and can be taken out of context to make detectives look bad. They can't even hold onto witnesses . No one wants to cooperate. Chicago should have a task force with law enforcement leaders from out of state to examine what is going on in the detective division and report it to the public.
Only in Chicago are the killers smarter than the detectives. What the city needs is more merit promotions and diversity promotions seems to be working so well.
Nick name second city seems so perfect on so many levels. Second class government, second class education, and second class policing. Keep voting them in they are doing a great job making second city into a third world hell hole.

Let me just add a couple of thoughts, there is a major crime wave occurring in the city, and the criminals know the investigative arm of the CPD is loaded with incompetence top to bottom. Ten percent or less of the Detectives know what they are doing, however, that's not cutting it anymore. The last eight years, Kimmy, Dart the Fart, and Tiny Dancer have embolded this element of society to not fear any repercussions for their criminal behavior. This environment is the perfect storm to hide serial killers, who are operating unabated in Chicago.

I'm surprised it has taken the press this long to find this story. A number of street hookers on 47th Street went missing last year. That could happen for any number of reasons. But when at least three of them turn up in dumpsters? Is anyone hearing serial killer?

This is scary shit on many levels boys and girls. It's not a pretty picture and its more then just a possibility that we have serial killers running around the city. If memory serves me correctly, years back on the south side, a serial killer use to kill F/1 prostitutes and violate them when dead. He's would leave their bodies in vacant buildings and would return to the buildings days later and violate them again. Sometimes he would come back multi times to have sex with his dead victims. He was identified and arrested, I don't know what happen in the trail or I just don't remember, gee I sound like Hilary. Looks like the south side is still producing serial killers; this is just my opinion, you might have at least two of these nuts working in that location of the City. If there are any man hunters left in the Detective Division, this would be the time for the Department to assign a small group dedicated to investigate these type of homicides. This issue if used properly, can and would work to sink Tiny Dancer and other Democrat's associated with their anti police policies.

I'm not making excuses for or against the Old School Detectives, but look at the group from Northwestern that freed murders and how they in a corrupt fashion accomplished it. The liberal media, politicians, white guilt thing, ACLU, are all involved in the gross incompetence you mentioned. It's a bigger picture, open your fucken eye's or has CNN brain wasted your tiny little brain.
Where is the oversight in the detective unit? The training?
Nothing new, nothing changes. It just keeps getting worst. The so-called bosses are just waiting for their next promotion they contribute nothing to make this department better. The heavy weights and merits just keep getting promoted with nothing to show or prove. It’s a joke. So it’s business as usual and no oversight .
